First off I can tell you that I totally recommend the A-Lister membership to anyone who is serious about their acting. You can go to class every day for a reasonable price. I just renewed for my second year and will continue to do so until they kick me out.... or I land my first series. :) The dearing acting studios truly embraces their students. It is a school I continue to attend month by month, because I know I am getting the best training in Arizona. The Dearings have changed my life forever. It is a place where anyone can seek comfort in who they are. The underlying goal here is help students grow and improve each week to reach their goals, whether that includes becoming a working actor or just acting for the fun of acting. I have been fully embraced here, just all the students. The students also support each other which is something I love. This is a place to help everyone improve, its simple. When I look back I am astounded at the progress I have made as an actor and as a person. I have the Dearing Studios to thank for that. It has become my family. I could not imagine myself at any other studio. read more

I have been a student at the Dearing Acting Studio for almost a year now. I would recommend anyone and everyone to study performing arts there! They have an extensive array of classes from teleprompter training, monologues, on-camera commercial training, Glee Club, audition training, Improv and so much more!!!!!! The teachers at the studio are very diverse and all are excellently trained. Most of them are currently working talent, so their knowledge of the craft and industry are up to date and current. Dearing Acting studio is a family owned and operated business. Their new facility is completely stocked with state of the art equipment, stage and green room. They are committed to enhancing your talent and love for the craft. Lets put it this way, they care more about training you than their bottom line. This isn't a company out to take your money- if it were, I wouldn't be writing this review. read more

If you're serious about becoming a better actor, Dearing's Master Class is unlike anything I've experienced. Matt's attention to detail forces you to level up by focusing on the acting nuances that only serious actors truly care about. One of the biggest shifts for me was learning to treat physical movement as intentional dialogue. Every movement has a purpose, and when your physicality is just as intentional as your lines, everything lands with more truth and impact. This class pushes you beyond your comfort zone. It's not always what you want to hear, but it's exactly what you need to hear. Matt doesn't sugarcoat his feedback; he gives tough love because he genuinely wants you to improve. If you're willing to listen, put in the work, and embrace the challenge, this class will spark a fire in you to become a stronger, more truthful actor. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experiences. read more

This is a great facility run by a team of extremely capable and talented individuals. Their studio space is diverse, adaptive, and professional. Our last casting call was a complete success thanks to the Dearing Studios. Not only did they offer a great price for their space, but we were able to get the word out to a large majority of previously untapped actors living in the area. Their recommendations were invaluable. The Dearings have a lot to teach and their methods have consistently created actors who show up to auditions well prepared, with the right attitude, and a great deal of talent to show for their training. This is an easy reccommendation to any aspiring actors and productions in need of an accomodating venue. read more

One of the BEST new businesses to come to Phoenix. Dearing Acting Studio is the real thing- full of talented, passionate people who love what they teach and attend the very classes they offer! Great not just for those inclined towards Acting/Modeling as a career since the skills learned help with public speaking, communication, presentations and understanding how you appear to others. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended. Take a class for a test drive and you'll see why they get such great reviews. Also, the Chaos Comedy Shows every Saturday night are a Can't Miss event. North Phoenix is lucky to have them!! Excellent for both Kids and Adults. Check out Valleywood Camp over the summer! read more

I first started classes with the Dearing Studio over a year ago at the recommendation of a fellow actor. When another actor recommends a training program, you pay attention. I started taking just one class, and before I knew it I signed myself up for a class at every opportunity. Not only is there a variety of classes offered geared toward what we can expect in the business, but the instructors have experience themselves and are working professionals. So when you sit and participate in a class, you receive information and feedback from real working actors and performers that isn't obsolete and will only help your growth as an actor and a professional. And, of course, it's fun! read more

We absolutely love Dearing Acting Studio! My son has been doing their movie camp for three summers now (finished his fourth movie!), and it just keeps getting better and better. The growth we've seen in his confidence, creativity, and on-camera skills is incredible. We also take their script and improv classes, which are top-notch. The instructors are passionate, encouraging, and truly know how to bring out the best in each student--whether you're brand new or more experienced. Dearing is more than an acting studio--it's a community that nurtures talent while making it genuinely fun. Highly recommend! read more

Thinking about where my life would be if I didn't start taking classes at Dearing makes me sad. Before I made the decision to go try the classes, I was at a low point in my life. I couldn't find any work after receiving my college degree. I just got out of an unhealthy relationship. I was trying to figure out who I was. I was lost. I would not be the person I am today without Dearing Acting Studio. They made me realize how much work I needed to do on myself. Once that happens, everything else will fall in to place. I have so much gratitude for everyone at that studio!! read more

The Dearing Acting Studio is one of the few great places in the valley to rent a multipurpose studio space at a good price. The Dearing Studio was fair and extremely professional. My director and production team recently finished casting our next film and we're very happy with the results. For 4 days of auditions we set up shop in an easy to locate, black box studio with an attached waiting room and private entrance. Casting Directors, look no further. Also, the Dearings and their employee's were extremely accommodating and very helpful. This was an A+ in my book. read more

DearingActingStudio if so much fun and awarding but it's also difficult. The studio is like no other, you can feel the energy from the staff and Actors there that they want to see you succeed, grow and improve, but not just in your acting career but also in life. From personal first hand experience, I was challenged and pushed to be on my game. And that's what drew me in, knowing that it wasn't going to be easy but I knowing I could do my best get feed back in a safe control judgment free Environment. read more

Dearing Acting Studio in one word; Relentless. The staff are relentless in their pursuit of your excellence not only as a student and actor but as a human being. This mindset trickles down into the students and into the scenes themselves as the actors push one another to get the best out of each other and raise the expectation of excellence within themselves. My 13 year old has been attending the Teen Improv classes for almost a year now. It was amazing how she immediately felt at home. Now, during the COVID-19 pandemic I am extremely impressed at how they have, so quickly, recreated the platform and enveloped the teenagers with such a positive message. Not only keeping them engaged in weekly classes but going above and beyond to help ensure that their mental health is in check. Thank you Dearing Studio! @dearingstudio read more

As an independent filmmaker, reliable locations and people can be hard to come across. Dearing Acting Studio graciously let our student production use their facilities for our auditions as well as steered us towards some great talent for the production. The facility is warm and inviting to anyone. The staff at the studio was very open to helping us anyway they could and providing us with a professional and positive environment to launch our production from. read more

As a very new actor, I took Master Class at Dearing Acting Studio with Matt, Brian and Joey not exactly sure what to expect. What stood out the most was how welcoming and supportive everyone was. There were actors of levels --from beginners like me to seasoned actors--and they made everyone feel like they belonged in the room. It was a wonderfully safe space to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Highly recommend! read more

Dearing Acting Studio is the place to be! I have yet to find a place more loving, understanding, and welcoming than the instructors here. Personally, they have provided a consistent base of honesty and love to help me improve as a person and as an actor. The scripted teen class has been a wonderful experience. Being naturally quiet and shy my voice did not project when I began. After a couple months there has been noticeable improvement - you can review each performance online to see your progress. The instructors help me and all the students in my class. It has been a terrific experience and I plan to continue to see how far I can go. read more
