We attended a matinee play today at the Theatre Artists Studio in the Paradise Valley area. The theatre is small and cozy. There is not a bad seat in the house. The audience is very close to the actors. The speech of the actors is quite easy to hear. You can become a member of the theatre by supporting the studio monetarily. You may purchase annual tickets and have a reserved seat for each performance. The show was approximate 1-1/2 hour including a brief intermission. The show was funny and entertaining. The time went by quite quickly. My friend was a part of the troupe. She did a great job. Shared parking in this large Plaza. Free WiFi for Cox subscribers.

There really isn't a bad seat in the house! It's a live play with great actors. I do love intimate playhouses and find that parking isn't a problem. The acting is top notch and I'm looking forward to seeing more plays here. We recently saw the performance of Ripcord" which had us laughing and crying. I hope the "two old broads production" team continues..

If you're looking for something different to do on date night why not check this place out…read more You arrive at the Orange Tree Resort (a townhouse type time share resort) and find a room full of tables set up for dinner. You're given a funny name at check-in and assigned a table. The show starts and there are breaks during which the same actors serve dinner to the audience. Three course meal, first the salad, second course chicken, mashed potatoes & veggies and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Cash bar in the corner, open all night. Food was good, nothing fancy, hotel banquet room type food. The acting was good, the puns were funny. During dessert you guess who the killer is (there are forms & pencils at every table) and there are two winners. I guessed correctly and got a ticket for a future event! Woohoo!!

At first glance, not much too much.. just a sign that says Murder and a Meal and a big room filled with dinner tables, etc. However, from the minute you step inside, the characters walk around the room and start to engage with the audience. Show is very entertaining and hysterical. They even called my boyfriend up to participate as a French waiter.. it was hilarious. We enjoyed the three course meal as part of the experience. The main course (Chicken Florentine) was delicious. Great for a date night or girlfriends night out especially when you are looking to laugh!

Yes, you read that right - even after two years, I'm still discovering new techniques, insights, & skills with each class! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the kindness & supportiveness of everyone - teachers, students, & staff - is ridiculously kind & supportive. It's like walking into a big ol' hug! Matt & Brian, are total rockstars. They're genuine, talented, & have helped me grow not just as an actor but as a person too (which is just as important). The classes are engaging, challenging, & fun! I've learned so much & seen major improvement in my craft. But what really sets Dearing apart is the community vibe. Everyone is super nice, supportive, & genuinely invested in each other's success. It's like we're all in this together! If you're thinking about acting classes, check out Dearing Acting Studio. Trust me, you won't regret it!

I took my son and his friend for a fun mother-son night at Medieval Times. We booked the 3:30 PM…read moreshow with the Royalty package, which recommends arriving 30 minutes early since seating is first come, first served. We actually got there around 2:30 PM, and a line had already started forming, but once the doors opened, everything moved pretty quickly and smoothly. With the Royalty package, we received VIP badges, and after check-in, we were welcomed at the entrance and given a colored crown (which determines your team and seating section). You then move through a line for photos (not free--I paid about $25 with a deal), and afterward you have about 30 minutes to walk around, shop, and grab drinks before the main arena opens. Once seated, our host greeted us and got us settled. The food was actually better than I expected! The chicken was huge and tender, the potatoes and buttery corn were really good, and even the soup was decent. The only thing none of us enjoyed was the dessert--it tasted like a frozen éclair and wasn't our favorite. I did appreciate that they offer boxes if you can't finish your food. As for the show, it was just okay from an adult perspective--kind of cheesy and repetitive at times. But honestly, the boys had a blast, which made it worth it. The one downside for me was how often staff came by trying to sell items like light-up swords, flowers, and flags--probably every 30 minutes or so. Even after saying no, they'd come back offering discounts, which got a bit annoying. Overall, we had a fun time and it was a great experience for the kids. Would I go again? Probably not--I feel like it's more of a one-time experience--but I'm glad we did it!

In the years since, I have encountered (auditions or on stage) several of Kelli's students and been thorough amazed. They display great poise, investment in their craft, and in some, a greater depth of feeling than their young years should provide. Several are working professionally. One just closed in a starring role on Broadway. Everyone has a voice. If that were enough, the stars would fill the airwaves. Unfortunately, getting from studio to the stage door entrance takes hard work and frankly, a great deal of insider knowledge.
