Four black T-shirts with white printed text are hung on white hangers on a metal clothing rack. The text on the shirts reads 'DEARING ACTING STUDIO.' The display is set against a white wall with a wooden shelf above and a wicker basket on a wooden surface below. The setting appears to be a retail or promotional display for the acting studio.

I recently moved to Phoenix from California and was a professional movie, TV SAG(Screen Actors Guild) Actor for 10 years in LA. There are alot of acting schools in LA(many sketchy charging thousands for inferior instruction). The Dearing School is superior to most I've seen in Hollywood. The classes cover classic acting skills, improv and comedy for all ages for all types of mediums. I met the Owner, Matt Dearing, and was quite impressed. The atmosphere is friendly but professional so neophytes to experts can learn and polish their acting chops. The location is very convenient and classes are available throughout the week at prices much more reasonable than LA and NYC. Highly recommended and I'm a professional IMDB listed SAG actor.

Absolutely love this acting studio. I was a student at Dearing for 3+ years. I matured there from being an inexperienced wishy-washy actor hopeful, to a skilled serious craftsman. The other students I met in my time were incredible. I made lasting friendships with them as well as the staff. Matt does his best to encourage his students develop all of their skills and talents- not just acting. I've experienced and witnessed extremely moving scene studies, disappointments and triumphs, and most importantly to me---so many opportunities to truly learn. The environment is very supportive. I saw a huge difference between me at the beginning and me at the end, but I will say this: you have to be willing to put in the work and give full effort if you expect the training to make a difference, and you should try to be welcoming of critiques as a platform to improve your work rather than take them personally (and that's true of any acting studio or school- not just this one). Those are the two keys to really get where you wanna be with training. Anyways would fully recommend this studio for actors in AZ who want to advance their craft.

You're given a funny name at check-in and assigned a table. The show starts and there are breaks during which the same actors serve dinner to the audience. Three course meal, first the salad, second course chicken, mashed potatoes & veggies and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Cash bar in the corner, open all night. Food was good, nothing fancy, hotel banquet room type food. The acting was good, the puns were funny. During dessert you guess who the killer is (there are forms & pencils at every table) and there are two winners. I guessed correctly and got a ticket for a future event! Woohoo!!

At first glance, not much too much.. just a sign that says Murder and a Meal and a big room filled with dinner tables, etc. However, from the minute you step inside, the characters walk around the room and start to engage with the audience. Show is very entertaining and hysterical. They even called my boyfriend up to participate as a French waiter.. it was hilarious. We enjoyed the three course meal as part of the experience. The main course (Chicken Florentine) was delicious. Great for a date night or girlfriends night out especially when you are looking to laugh!

We actually got there around 2:30 PM, and a line had already started forming, but once the doors opened, everything moved pretty quickly and smoothly. With the Royalty package, we received VIP badges, and after check-in, we were welcomed at the entrance and given a colored crown (which determines your team and seating section). You then move through a line for photos (not free--I paid about $25 with a deal), and afterward you have about 30 minutes to walk around, shop, and grab drinks before the main arena opens. Once seated, our host greeted us and got us settled. The food was actually better than I expected! The chicken was huge and tender, the potatoes and buttery corn were really good, and even the soup was decent. The only thing none of us enjoyed was the dessert--it tasted like a frozen éclair and wasn't our favorite. I did appreciate that they offer boxes if you can't finish your food. As for the show, it was just okay from an adult perspective--kind of cheesy and repetitive at times. But honestly, the boys had a blast, which made it worth it. The one downside for me was how often staff came by trying to sell items like light-up swords, flowers, and flags--probably every 30 minutes or so. Even after saying no, they'd come back offering discounts, which got a bit annoying. Overall, we had a fun time and it was a great experience for the kids. Would I go again? Probably not--I feel like it's more of a one-time experience--but I'm glad we did it!

They display great poise, investment in their craft, and in some, a greater depth of feeling than their young years should provide. Several are working professionally. One just closed in a starring role on Broadway. Everyone has a voice. If that were enough, the stars would fill the airwaves.
