I visited Mathnasium of Stetson Hills when looking for math help for my granddaughter. I spoke with…read morethe center director, Jimmi, who was very helpful in explaining the program and how their system has proven to help kids learn math in a way that will help them now and in the future. I was so impressed with the appearance of the center - neat, very organized and attractive. The kids who were there at the time seemed to be enjoying their interactions with the instructors and there was a genuine positive vibe in the room. I'm looking forward to having my granddaughter get started this summer so she will be prepared for the next level in Math, hopefully without the tears that have been connected with math assignments in the past.

This was the best money I ever spent and encourage EVERY novice to see him. Almost an hour and a half before we even started shooting, Ryan spoke to gun safety and proper handling. Sure, I have shot handguns on many occasions but never ever thought of all of the peripheral things you need to think about! In short, the 3 hours that my wife and I spent with Ryan went by really fast. Ryan is very polite and extremely patient. At the end of our session, my wife and I could hit the targets pretty well and came away with a LOT of knowledge. So much so that we can not wait for our next session with Ryan to improve our handling and shooting skills and learn more! Ryan simple rocks!

I recently attended the Home Based - CQB 1 course taught by Ryan Clark and Bob Pinkerton and it was…read moreoutstanding! I really appreciated how they started the day by talking through some of the more common home intruder scenarios, improvements that can be made to the home itself to deter would-be intruders, and force-on-force approaches to consider if a home intrusion were to occur. The talk included the need to devise a home defense plan ahead of time that all house members are familiar with that could be executed if/when the need ever did arise. Discussions were followed by Ryan and Bob setting up various scenarios in the 'shoot house' and having each student perform room clearing through the house while dealing with 'friendlies' and 'threats' during the process. Ryan and Bob held debriefings after each student and talked about things the students did well and things to improve to perform the clearing process more efficiently and safely. The day ended with each student clearing the house under live-fire conditions using training ammunition to give as close to a real-world experience as possible. The level of instruction throughout the day was outstanding with excellent and timely feedback throughout the day. I've taken several force-on-force courses before with other instructors and this was by far the best and most comprehensive bar none. I've also taken several courses with Deliberate Concepts with Ryan and Bob as the instructors and would highly recommend them.

My son and I were really excited to go to this school considering it is across the street from our…read morehome. He was being teased for playing with a little girl and after so many days, he defended himself saying to his friend "girls are dogs and dogs drink out of toilet bowls" When I picked my son up from school he was crying, devastated, saying that he got written up. He told me what happened and what was said. We talked why he did it and why it wasn't ok. The teacher messaged me on class dojo explaining what happened and that my son was very honest with her immediately, she talked to him and she could tell he was genuinely sorry. That he chose to make a difference by writing an assignment on anti bullying, I explained that he was sorry and the he said he wouldn't do it again..and that was the end of the discussion. I though it was over and dealt with until I picked my son up the next day and he was devastated crying AGAIN.....Nobody there with him to explain why he's so upset. He told me that he had to stay in a room and eat his lunch while writing an assignment on what Sousa's Expectations are from him, for using unkind words AND then had to sit on a bench for recess while everyone else got to play! That was his punishment for the rest of the week! Mind you, nobody ever informed me of him getting this kind of treatment!! I thought it was dealt with the day before! When I called the school to understand the situation both the principal secretary and principal were incredibly rude to me, pretty much called me a liar at one point. The principal said things like "you must feel like you guys are higher and above everyone else to think he shouldn't get this kind of punishment" (even tho my son was the only one punished in this "incident") and "if he was using kind words, he wouldn't be in this situation" instead of trying to make the situation better and being on the same page. It was their way or find another school! This school since then has deleted my reviews and won't even reply back to my emails. I've never dealt with something like this before and wouldn't wish it on anyone. The lack of respect is unreal. It was the first time he was ever in trouble! The punishment was too harsh for something so small. I was understanding the first day but it is not ok to treat any child this way and/or any parent for that matter. I have gotten plenty of advice from plenty of mothers and also see other ratings that state almost the same things to know my feelings are also justified and that this is not ok and they are perfectly fine with showing they DO NOT CARE! We no longer go to this school! Shame on Sousa Elementary School!!

A special shout-out goes to the librarian (Siack?) for her ability to hunt down books that my daughter requests. Thanks!

His intent was to just have fun since he already loves math and has As. The reasons my son likes it is he gets to earn prizes to learn and the instructors are really nice. He also does this from the comfort of our home after school so o don't have to drive all over which is so nice with my busy schedule. The online program is not like online school where you don't talk to live people. The instructors are live (you see them, talk to them) and teach the students one on one and then the student practices what they've learned, the instructors come back live online to review it and then move the child to the next part to learn. They are kind and motivating. There's nothing better for my son than hearing what a great job he's doing and earning prizes too. This location also participates in the Arizona ESA Class Wallet program and is inclusive of all learning levels and kids. That is huge for fellow parents who need support for their kids in that program. The owner will happily work with you on the right program to meet your child's needs. This is my second child I've enrolled in Mathnasium by the way. My daughter was in it last school year and went from a D to an A on math. She no longer enrolled and continues to thrive and have an A in math. If she had trouble again, I'd re-enroll her for sure. She wouldn't want to do it for fun like my son, but it's nice to know Mathnasium of Cave Creek is there when we need them. She was actually in center back then when it was all done on paper (it's now required to have a computer due to Covid in center). She switched to Mathnasium Online during Covid and I was skeptical, but I actually love the online live tutoring since I don't have to go anywhere. You can do both btw. You schedule the sessions yourself and they are open evenings and weekends.
