Holy cannoli!!! After trying several chiro's (7 of them) around the ventura county area, I found Dr. Mark Algee. When I first went into his office....he wasn't there...he was out of the country. BUT! when he came back, man did I finalize get the relief I had been searching for. As someone who suffers from life altering anxiety/panic attacks and deals with chronic back pain and numbness of limbs, I needed the 8th chiro to really put in the work to help me get some of my life back. Dr. Algee's adjustments are exactly what I needed and have helped reduced inflammation of pain and have helped me live my life with longer periods of being able to live a life. He has office hours that support my work schedule and his availability fits my needs. He is in network with the Veteran's Administration and is familiar with the paperwork they require to continue care. I will say going up the two flights of stairs isn't always ideal when I go in the office but after a visit I feel like I can jump off of them. Parking can be a bit tough as the closest spots are taken up by neighboring businesses. Highly recommend De-Stress Chiropractic and Dr. Mark Algee. read more

I always feel better after a visit at De-Stress Chiropractic. The Dr. is very thorough and knowledgeable. He listens to my concerns and has relieved my pain. Thank you so much!! I recommend De-Stress to all my family and friends. read more

Dr. Algee at De-Stress chiropractic is the best chiropractor I've ever gone to! He is thoughtful, and extremely skilled, and won't give up until he's relieved your discomfort. I've gone to other chiropractors who refused to lay hands on me during our first appointment, or only tried one or two adjustments and argued with me when I complained that I was still in discomfort. In contrast, Dr. Algee had me walking out of his office normally on my very first appointment after being in extreme pain when I walked in -- and he tried multiple adjustments, testing how I was feeling and walking after each one. Dr. Algee is great at what he does and you can feel confident you're in good hands here. read more

Dr. Algee helped me so much recently. I started having panic attacks after a viral infection and I knew functional neurology would help so I gave him a call. He was able to identify the parts of my brain in dysfunction which were increasing my panic response, and after he corrected them I was fine. It was such a relief! I'm so grateful for him and his unique skill set! read more

Their flexible schedule is definitely a plus! But the fact that my neck is on its way back to normal after my accident is amazing. I would definitely recommend.plus he said after my lawsuit is over he'll still see me a half the cost. Nice guy , with a nice wife working the front desk. read more

Dr. Mark is a very caring and professional chiropractor. His office is very calm and a relaxing environment for healing. I was having TMJ pain, and it was difficult to chew. My jaw was clicking every time I opened my mouth halfway. After two sessions, my pain decreased. I finished my third session, and my jaw pain is completely gone. I am very grateful for everything, Dr. Mark was able to do. The massage chair and table are wonderful ways to finish and de stress before heading home. Thank you for being an expert in your field of practice. read more

Ventura is so lucky to have such a kind and gifted chiropractor! Dr. Algee sincerely wants to get to the bottom of your health concerns. My visits never feel rushed and he always is thorough and methodical in his approach. After years of dealing with an injury that was not improving with physical therapy and exercise, Dr. Algee was able to pin point the issue during the first session! I also appreciate how he constantly checks that the treatment isn't overwhelming during the session and even contacted me after my sessions to see how I was doing. That was a first for me and shows how much Dr. Algee truly cares about the health of each patient. Would highly recommend without hesitation! read more

Dr. Algee is a miracle worker. He not only heals the body, but also the spirit. I had unbearable sciatica pain when I limped into his office and was under a tremendous amount of stress. I was filled with anxiety. After only 2 visits, I was able to dress myself (something I wasn't able to do due to pain when bending over), I could sit and stand for longer than 2 minutes without needing to drop to the floor for relief. I could sleep (something I hadn't done in a month due to pain and anxiety). I am an RN and used to work in Chiropractic. Dr. Algee is not only a chiropractor, he is a healer. He provides a safe, calm environment. While he aligns and adjusts, he puts your stress level and well-being before all else. Time spent with Dr. Algee isn't a "quick crack". If you come in at a 10 with pain or anxiety, he makes sure you leave at a 1. Being an RN, I can't say this is the norm for doctors. He takes his time. He listens. He cares. If you have taken the time to read this review, please, for your health and well-being, see Dr. Algee. It'll be one of the best things you could ever do for yourself. *update* session 4 and my sciatic pain is almost gone. I feel lighter. I'm sleeping better. My anxiety has decreased significantly. I would see Dr. Algee every day if I could. He saved me. read more

I will start off by saying I am very selective with who I trust with my health, especially my spine. I was rear ended in a car accident and had/have post concussive syndrome. I couldn't stop randomly crying for weeks due to my brain simply not processing information at the speed I was used to. I also had pain all over my body due to whiplash and four herniated discs. I watched some of Dr. Algee's youtube videos so I was somewhat prepared for his approach. My first visit to his office I was a mess. I could barely function and I had a low threshold for loud noises or surprises. Due to the accident and ensuing stress, my nerves were effectively rattled. Even before I arrived to the office for my first appointment, Dr. Algee's kindhearted demeanor put me at ease. He encouraged me to relax. After my first visit I left his office a totally new person. I felt calm, I felt relaxed and my pain had magically disappeared. I understand that with car accident injuries, one must be patient with the body's healing process. After my second visit to his office, my stress response was back to normal. I have only been for four visits, yet my emotional endurance is remarkable compared to before I visited his office. He has a no-nonsense approach, which I completely appreciate. He is very thorough and effective and I tell anyone who will listen that their lives will change for the better after they visit Dr. Algee. read more

This was my first time trying this chiropractor. I was given a same day appointment and had high hopes. There are two offices but when I made the appointment I was not told that. I arrived to my appointment and the office was closed. I then rushed to the other office clear across town trying to make the appointment and try to get my son from school right after. I had been in a ton of pain that day. When I got there the receptionist just looked at my insurance card and told me I would have a high deductible and I would have to pay out of pocket for the visit. I was told it was would be $120 then if my insurance covered it, it was $75 but the discount could bring me to $55. My insurance was not even ran, I even called and that was not the case. My co-pay was no where near any of those amounts. I ran around and rushed just to not be seen. I would suggest you look elsewhere for chiropractic services. read more

Dr. Algee loves his job. It is clear that he cares about his clients. He is very mindful about what he does and how he does it. It is very specific to the person and their nervous system, and check ins are done often throughout the sessions. This was such a refreshing experience, because it shows that he is sensitive about how your body is responding, and it also gives you a moment to check in with yourself. His office is calming, and his expertise is outstanding. I have never received adjustments like I have from Dr. Algee. They are very precise, relieving, and effective. Furthermore, he has also showed care by asking how your adjustments feel hours after your session with him. He actually learns about you, and I think that is a special detail because he also uses that to further inform how he treats you. Thanks Dr. Algee! read more

Hands down this place is great!! I woke up and out of nowhere my back was shooting pain all the way down to my feet the worst pain ever, my wife said it sounded like A sciatic nerve never heard of this before but trust me when I say I do now. I looked all over yelp and myself as a business owner look for good reviews, so I found Dr. Algee and he called me back in about 5 mins and told me he would get me right in. He really cares about his patients to the point of texting me both days to check on me and to top it off I'm leaving for a trip and he text me tonight to see how I was doing and when I said my calf was still tight he offered to meet me at his office at 4am, WOW that is really someone that cares. Thank you. Also after the first visit my pain going down my leg is way better just have a tight calf but from what I've heard it can normally last a very long time. read more

After a lot of research and reading other reviews on different chiropractors, I came across De-Stress Chiropractic; after reading up on Dr. Algee's background and his reviews, I decided De-Stress Chiropractic was the new Chiropractor for my Daughter and I. I was very impressed with Dr. Algee and his techniques, how much knowledge he has is quite impressive. Dr. Algee came across very caring and really wants to see his patients feel better. My oldest daughter, 11 years old, felt comfortable with him also, and to me this is important. My youngest daughter loved the rolling Table massager, lol. My daughter and I immediately felt relief after our adjustment With Dr. Algee, and will be seeing Dr. Algee often. read more

I went to see Dr. Mark Algee for the first time this past weekend. I've known him since he was about 6 years old but had lost contact with his family for years. When I started looking for them, I found him on Facebook. I watched all his videos on YouTube and knew I had to make an appointment with him. He is the most AMAZING Chiropractor I've ever had work on me! I will drive the 2.5 hours from my home to have him work on me. My sister went with me just to see him work, well Dr. Algee insisted on working on her as well! My sis has seen a chiropractor for years and said she has never had such a release in her neck in years! She will be staying with Dr. Algee! Be sure to lay on the massaging tables OMG! This Chiropractor has as gift in his hands! He is very unique! read more

I am new to ventura. I was looking for a new chiropractor I could trust. I've had a pretty intense year and carry a lot of stress. This usually result in horrid headaches. I'd had a pinch in my neck for a few months and a headache that was on day five. I called in desperation and got in right away. My body was shaking I was in so much pain. He did some evaluations and noticed my balance and some key things. He called it, The exact places I had issues he could see with out me telling him. My Jaw was out of place and as soon as that was realigned my headache was instantly lifted. I felt taller and like I could breathe. I felt grateful to find his practice. You won't be disappointed. I also appreciated his genuine care in his work and patients. I've already referred several friends. read more

I am in tears writing this. Not bad tears. Happy and relief tears. I've have been in pain for so many years and he was able to pin point most of my issues in one visit. Awful jaw pain from TMJ! I must mention that I was quoted $1600 at another chiropractor and they said it would be 3 months before my back was feeling better. Definitely not the case. To be honest, when I first went to see Dr. Algee, it was because my regular chiropractor was not available. It was the weekend and I was in a lot of pain. My mom was in town so she came with me. When we first walked in, Dr. Algee started talking about how he wasn't like other chiropractors. We were definitely skeptical. He started with some balance exercises. He had me walk toe to toe like a sobriety test. Even though I hadn't had a drop of liquor, I couldn't do it. After he adjusted me, my balance significantly improved and my pain was gone. To me (especially being as skeptical as I was) it was so awesome to see tangible evidence that what he was doing was working on ME. My mom was intrigued, so she also did the exercises and got adjusted. Same story. He even took a video so that we could watch the before and after to see the difference. Afterwards, I felt great but I still wasn't sure. I had to wait and see if this magic lasted. A week later, I still felt great. (My mom did too). So then I knew this guy was the real deal. The results spoke for themselves. Since that first visit, I have gone back. Dr. Algee took his time. He was actively asking questions about my mood, sleep, and stresses in my life because he wanted to fix anything that was wrong. It seems like he understands connections in the body better than the other chiropractors I have been to. He used to do massage so he will really feel in the muscles to find out what needs to be adjusted, instead of just the standard adjustment that I got every week at other doctors. In just the few visits I have had, I have learned SO much. I ask a lot of questions and he always has answers. His perspective is very different than what I am used to, but he makes a lot of sense. No bs. Oh! One more thing! If you've ever gone to a chiropractor, they do the super scary neck snapping thing. He doesn't do that. Phew! He still adjusts the neck, but in a way less intense and scary way. He doesn't take insurance, but his rates are reasonable. My body is worth it:) read more

I had an amazing appointment with Dr Mark Algee!! He saw me on a Saturday after I had thrown my back out doing some work on my Mom's kitchen. I'm from Santa Barbara and just relocated here to Ventura and don't know much about the health professionals in this community. De-Stress Chiropractic is amazing! Dr. Algee really knows how to treat his patients from a holistic perspective. His adjustments instantly made me feel calmer. Dr. Algee is unlike any other chiropractor I've visited. If you're considering seeing a chiropractor or are looking for relief, I recommend visiting De-Stress Chiropractic. He is affordable yet thorough. I am an athlete and have had suffered numerous injuries/surgeries, so I'm familiar with constant pain and migraines. If you're skeptical, give Dr. Algee a chance. Well 3-7-2022 I was in a car accident and experienced the most extreme whip lash ever my back my neck wrist knee and lower lumbar was in so much pain, wile seeing Dr. Mark Algee he has made a dramatic impact in my life not only is he there for me whenever a question arises (regarding pain) he seems to go above and beyond to cater to my needs as he is working on puting the broken pieces back together again. So far treatment has been successful and still a work in progress I am great full to have found a down to earth Chiropractor that genuinely cares and listens to what I have to say. I have not been cared for by a chiropractor before but to be in a vulnerable position that you leave all trust in is hard to find, like a barber or hairstylist once you know, you know. Also putting my body in front of a former Marine makes me feel that much more comfortable as I come from a military background myself. read more

First of all let me say that I have been to a lot of practitioners in attempts to solve my long term low back pain. Mark said, "give me three visits." So I agreed. After my first visit, while I was still in the office, I had much more mobility and a lot less pain. Mark took the time to talk to me, he asked intuitive questions and did a lot of muscle testing on me before he did anything. And then he got movement in places on my spine that had been locked up for years. 10 our of 10! read more
