i went for a full set of pink and whites. The nail technician did a good job but the nail stations were back to back so you could barely move your chair. one of the other nail techs was coughing uncontrollably and I was very uncomfortable due to the proximity of her nail station right behind me. i was assured she was non contagious but I felt the owner should not let anyone that sick be at work. I couldn't wait to leave and didn't check my receipt. I later noticed I was charged $80 for my $60 nail application including the tip. I did not leave a 35% tip! won't ever go back. read more

Not only was the spray tan the absolute best, most natural, and well-done spray I have ever received, but the whole experience I felt truly pampered and special. Hands down the best spray tan I've ever had! This was the first time I've gotten a spray tan done by hand and I couldn't be happier with the results! The color is great, not orange at all. A nice natural bronze brown. It was even all over and they offered good care instructions for before and after care. Customer service was prompt and staff was friendly. I went in for a gel manicure and hair cut, and neither was up to par for what I paid. When I got my hair cut, I asked for the split and dead ends to be taken care of because they were making my hair look frizzy, and were down the entire length of my hair. I also asked for not much to be taken off the bottom of my hair, and she lopped an inch off the bottom and didn't do anything else, and didn't even look at the split ends on the rest of my hair. She also didn't fully blow dry my hair, and wouldn't curl it without me paying extra, when I was already paying $45 for a haircut! When she did my nails, there was tons of smeared polish around the edges, and the ends of my nails were left rough and uneven. One day later, the polish is already starting to look dull and is slightly rubbery. read more

I was pleasantly pleased when I went to De Solei to get my nails done once they reopened. They have a separate entrance and exit. When inside, they take your temperature and you get your hands sanitized, then you stand on a circle until they are ready for you. you then put on an apron and sit on a chair with paper covering the chair. of course everyone is wearing masks. Jennifer, the owner, has gone above and beyond what is required of her. I would definately recommend this Salon to everyone. read more

I explained what I wanted (eventually, were I to make an appointment). She was friendly, responsive, and straightforward about their prices since my long hair/issues might need extra work. I was referred to this salon by a friend of mine who visits regularly. I called to schedule an appointment, and got fit in the same day, which was pretty cool, right? Not. When I showed up to sign the paper work, and when asked what I wanted by the owner, I explained to her that I just wanted white acrylics done. She then goes on to tell me that white is a really hard color to achieve, with gel or acrylic powder. I've been getting strictly white acrylics for years and have never in my life seen or has any issues with achieving the color. The manicurist she puts me with was doing her nails when I got there, no big deal I was a little early. Jen then sits me down in front of her while she finishes her own nails before she starts mine. Very low communication occurred. She finished her nails, asked me what I wanted and I told her white acrylics please. She then looks up at me, DOESNT say anything then goes to gather her supplies. While doing this she looks lost, confused and sighed a lot. She then starts the process with the sticker forms and I was pretty excited about that. She then goes to reiterate that white is hard to do. Slaps a super thick layer of clear down on all my fingers, all wonky choppy thick, over the sides of my fingers and VERY rough. She then added a thin layer of white, then another thicker layer of clear over the top of it. I was a little confused but whatever I'm here for it. She starts to file to smooth them out and the white comes off (shocking) she starts the process over. Then asks if I'm okay with having white gel polish instead of the acrylic, which honestly I'm not a huge fan of because I'm rough on my nails and I manage to chip it off. At this point, I had been in front of her for about an hour and a half, not even half way finished. She goes to use the drill to get the white off to start the process over AGAIN, at which point I tell her to just leave them clear because I had a doctor appointment scheduled later that day (honestly not thinking I'd be in a manicure chair for more than an hour and a half for acrylics). While using the drill she was pressing really hard so a lot of heat was being created within the acrylic and I mentioned it a couple times but she really didn't seem to care. Throughout the process she's telling me how hard it is to start doing nails after school, complaining about "bitchy clients" she gets all day long. Her drill then dies, and she is just all around not having a good time at this point. I tell her about my appointment and then she says I can leave and come back if I want. I WALKED OUT of the salon, with four fingers that had thick, chunky, gritty white acrylic all over them, and the other six were clear with white residual all over, super choppy from her drill, and she had nicked one of my fingers with the drill so I was literally bleeding. So I got in my car and I left to go to my appointment, looking like my hands had just been ran over by a truck. Throughout my doctor appointment the owner called me a handful of times about coming back to have them finished and having a past due balance, which obviously I was not going to go back or pay 60+ dollars for the service that was given. I have NEVER in my entire life, through the hundreds of manicurists I've had, ever had such an awful experience or ever even WALKED OUT. I then went to another salon that accepts walk ins, and he begins to fix my nails for me, he starts taking them off and as he's removing the acrylic he notices that one of my natural nails is filed SO thin and messed up from the heat of the drill, that it's not only split from tip to cuticle, but there's a giant chunk MISSING and it's bleeding under the acrylic that had been placed prior. Never had such an awful experience in my life and I most definitely will not be going back here. read more

So I already wrote a review right after I left the salon and I gave them five stars because the salon was nice and the employees were sweet people, HOWEVER I am going to have to write another review because it's only been three days since I've gotten my nails done and 4 nails have broken off already. I've had my nails done many times before and I've NEVER had them break off before unless I was trying to take them off at home on purpose... I decided to just take the nail clippers to them and after doing so I could see that the gel medium was SO THIN that it hardly had anything to keep its strength which is why they broke apart so fast. I payed $60 for nails that lasted two days and I'd rather go to the mall and pay a Japanese lady who doesn't speak English the $50 to get them down. I love these ladies at this salon but the nails were crap. I'd also like to point out that my friend went with me and got hers done too and they came out terrible (bubbly and lumpy) and hers are breaking off as well.... read more

I was really excited to go to this salon. I rarely spend money on myself like this so when I do, I want to make sure it feels worth it. I was especially excited about the natural products the salon uses. First I went in to get my haircut and did not have great experience. The woman I had was super nice and had great conversation, but the cut I received was not the best. I decided I would not go there again to get my hair cut, but I tried the pedicure. The first 15-20 minutes of the 1 hour appt, my feet were just soaking in water while the woman doing the pedicure was cleaning. It was only her and I in the nail area with no magazines, TV, etc. and she hardly talked at all. The only conversation was initiated by me and short... awkward. My nails did not turn out great and it was a simple paint. She did not paint the whole nail, and let clear coat all over the skin on my toes when I left. I ended up repainting them better myself when I got home. The atmosphere in the salon is great, and the receptionists are always very friendly and helpful. Bad bad business no help after one of her hairdressers literally fried my hair it's all broken off uneven etc...she has no one to fix it she ended up quitting the gal that fried my hair that is. cancelled my tanning and all nail appts. Why give a business my money just to be more or less put off. Also she can't seem to keep hairdressers around think something must be wrong. Worst gel manicure and pedicure I've ever gotten. Went in to get a gel manicure before my brother's wedding and three of my nails peeled away within 3 days. Way too thick, didn't do any work on my cuticles. And they charged me over $100. Won't go back. read more

I was given a gift certificate and also purchased a gift certificate. Certificates are issued with expiration dates. When the salon was asked if they would provide services for the amount of the purchased certificates, they said they would only provide services for half the original purchase. Since they received payment; they should honor the original purchase amount towards services. It would go a long way towards good will and future business. I will never purchase a gift certificate again or recommend making such a purchase at this salon. I have been able to use gift certificates at other spas without the worry of an expiration date or loss of value. read more

My regular tanning salon closed early one day, and I was trying to get a tan before going on vacation 2 days later. So I called Del Soleil and asked if they had a Bronzer bed, the kind that doesn't burn. She said yes, their stand-up bed was a bronzer and wouldn't burn. When I arrived at the salon, I confirmed with her 3-4 times that this was a bronzer bed and that I would not get burned. I told her it was extremely important that I didn't get burned because I wanted to visit my regular tanning salon the next day, and I was leaving for vacation the day after that. It is important to note that my regular salon does have an actual bronzer bed that does not burn. I laid the full time in that bed the two days prior to visiting Del Soleil and did not burn. Well guess what...the empolyees at Del Soleil obviously don't know what type of bed or bulbs they have in their own salon because I got totally fried in that bed. I mean even my face! I look like a cross between a lobster and a racoon! It seems to me that the employees of a tanning salon should know the difference between the types of beds/bulbs they have and how the percentage of UVA/UVB rays in the different types of beds/bulbs produce very different results. It also seems reasonable that if a customer asks a question that they don't understand or know the answer to, the employees should say they don't know rather than just glossing it over. Now I have to pay the price for their ignorance and lack of care! Thanks a lot Del Soleil! Never, ever again!! read more
