Came home for a much needed pannekoek plus a hearty breakfast. We had an amazing server working a full restaurant on her own but with a smile and good attitude. My pannekoek was delicious, bratwurst feeling, eggs cooked perfectly and ordered a side of Edam and sourdough bread. I was hungry! I feel like I need to describe my pannekoek a bit more. It is a thin pancake, slightly chewy and was served with whipped butter. I drizzled maple syrup over it. Yummy!!! Finished off with a cup of peppermint tea. This is still my favourite De Dutch location in Vancouver.

They do have a plan in place for covid time . And unlike lots of other restaurants they are following it. The staff were polite and considerate and the service was prompt and respectful Fruit topping cheese cake was nice fresh and fluffy , but I didn't like the trail mix , too dry and rough . Apple cinnamon at the side was not tasting fresh and seems they mix and kept it for long .

I can never get enough of this place when I visit Canada! My cousin/nephew took us to this place. And everytime we go to Canada we have to have it.. well I do... The Place is clean and friendly!! But the wait to be seating can be foreverrrr... doesn't matter which de dutch you go to there is always a wait.. But thank god we didn't have to wait.. I'd say they have the yummmiest pancakes.. You have to try it!! The pancakes are thin and delish.. I had Great service also.. that's even a plus.. Gotta try it if this is your first time in Vancouver!!!

I give it a 5 out of 5, both in service and food quality and overall customer experience. There is WiFi here, which is mandatory not only in a city like Vancouver but in the year 2018, all breakfast places should have WiFi in a metropolitan city. Orange juice is squeezed fresh and it DOESN'T TASTE LIKE DIABETES IN A CUP. That's right, it's not a sugar rush! Not all oranges squeezed will taste like dessert. Get over it, it's good for you. I ordered a glass and wish I had ordered a second because it was that good. I ordered "The Hash" which at the time of this review according to their website is: "Hash Browns, mushroom, green peppers, onions and cheddar mixed with your choice of Ham, DeBakon, sausage, turkey Bacon or Vegetarian with Hollandaise Sauce." It was freaking good is what it is, and the portion size was large enough that I could barely finish the thing. Barbara was our server and she was incredibly friendly and helpful, checking with us frequently and bringing the check and even offering some locals-insight as I'm from the USA. Coffee is refilled frequently and isn't too strong but isn't highly acidic either. It's just right for me. Price point was pretty good, $17 CAD for the dish, which at the time of this review is $13.17 USD when I convert using Google. All in all, really great, would return.

De Dutch reminds me of a European Denny's, but more expensive. If you've read any of my previous reviews, you know by now that I'm really into brunch/breakfast joints. I don't think I would have tried this place unless my boyfriend wanted to. We were able to get a table right away, but it took about 15 minutes before our server greeted us, and that was after we got up and told the hostess that we hadn't been checked on yet. Usually that wouldn't bug me, but we were in a bit of a rush that day. Service was fantastic after that. Since this was our first time dining here, our waitress had some great recommendations for us and let us know that their pannekoeks are what De Dutch is known for. They have your basic breakfast menu - eggs, ham, bacon, sausages, and of course their speciality pannekoeks (pancakes). I ended up getting the big breakfast which included 1 slice of pannekoek, bacon, sausage, ham, eggs and toast. Everything was tasty, don't get me wrong, but it didn't blow me out of the water. I'm glad I tried it, but unfortunately, I don't think it made it to my go-to brunch list.

The pancakes were a bit different from the Dutch pancakes I'm use to - the Dutch pancakes in California are less fluffy and more crispy. Not sure which is more authentic. The pancakes here were good but I was more impressed by the perfectly cooked eggs (over medium) and bacon. The coffee was good as well. The restaurant has probably been around for a while since it's a bit dated but it has it's charm. The servers were very attentive and came by to ask several times if everything was okay and refill my coffee.

We added two eggs and a "small" side of Nutella. If we ever get a chance to go again I will definitely get a different Dutch pancake. Great service. Nice view!

There's a full bar service with a bar tender, and a couple waitresses. We sat down with no wait time, and the server brought the menu right away. We each ordered a truffle mushroom blaze burger, with some sides of onion rings and yam fries. We also shared a crispy chicken poutine which was delicious. The crispy chicken was a little over fried, but the poutine and cheese made up for it. The truffle mushroom burger was very yummy with big portions. They are also flexible to customize the orders, with extra toppings, and switch it up for kids menu. Our waitress was also very patient with us and took down all of our customizations, and got them right. If you are looking for a nice local burger place with friendly staff, this is the place to be!

Their space is not too big but it is perfect for date night. In fact, most people there were on dates. The aesthetics of their space is designed for date nights. They not only have burgers but also a cafe which coffee. I got their diablo picante beef burger which had lettucem avacado, jalapeno, pico de gayo, chipotle mayom sour cream, AND TORTILLA CHIPS inside the burger! I was so excited to try this mexican style gourmet burger. I will say it definitely lived up to the hype and I will say do not get this if you don't like spice because it was spicy. My partner got their blaze poutine which was not bad, but nothing great at the same time. They had a special bali coffee which they recommended so we got that but I would give it a 3/5 for that. Overall not bad!

Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.

And as I soon as I walked in I noticed the portions people were receiving, holy cow! Are we in Texas? I ordered a chai latte and it smelt so good. And tasted even better, best chai I've ever had. It tasted like a cinnamon fall festival in my mouth. Brought me right back to my childhood and all the falls I spent in New England. I also got the huevos rancheros and it was so good. I hardly made a dent in my food though. There was a bit of a wait for the bathrooms. I loved the decor too. Honestly I see the hype for this place, but I believe it's mainly for their HUGE portions. Dont get me wrong the food was delicious! But I don't think waiting in a line is necessary for this place.
