This was my first visit to DD nails and I will be returning! The salon was very clean and nice. The staff were friendly and offered snacks and drinks. My basic pedicure was great. I find that a lot of salons will rush through the service and only use one hot towel for both legs but that didn't happen here! They took their time and also gave a great massage! I have been coming here for almost 2 years. This was my go to spot but now im not so sure. The quality of service has changed. I used to go to one nail tech every time but because I had a baby its hard to schedule appointments for me and easier to do walk ins. Well, today was unfortunately probably my last day going... I got there this morning and was immediately sat down and getting started to get worked on by one of the techs. Then a lot of people began showing up all within 5 min increments. The nail tech who was doing my nails was running around doing a lot, multitasking. Which I felt sympathetic about and even commended their hard work. Then someone who had been waiting for sometime asked how much longer so she moved me to a pedicure chair, sat her in the chair i was in and she began finishing my nails. I can tell she was rushing, the quality of the fill wasnt the best and i didnt really get what i wanted. She told me she could do it, but i feel like there was little effort to get the results i wanted, due to her rushing. I began just going along with what she was doing after already telling her its not what i wanted because at this point i was overstimulated and disappointed. I asked for an ombre with white and pink cateye. This is not what I wanted and can tell it was done quickly compared to sets ive gotten with them in the past. The crome or the cateye polish isnt blended and the builder gel looks splotchy. I am so sad, this was supposed to be a relaxing treat after being home all day with my baby, but it was chaotic, stressful, and disappointing. I came here to get my nails done for a cosplay and to be honest I regret going. The lady was nice and patient but they definitely do not like to waste their time. I got gel press ons and maybe its because I didnt pay extra for the ones that make it look more natural but it honestly feels like she just wanted to be done with me. She did a pretty sloppy job on one of my designs (the other one is good) They speak Taiwanese knowing that most of their customers dont know it and it honestly feels like they be talking about you behind your back. But overall, the employees are nice. The place is clean. But if you can do your own nails, I would instead of going to here. My total was $75. read more

I'm very disappointed to be writing this review after being a loyal customer of DD Nails for the past year and a half. Ben has always done a great job, which is why we continued coming back. Yesterday, however, I brought my 86-year-old mom in after calling ahead to make an appointment, and the experience was completely different. Her service normally takes over an hour, but this time she was rushed through in about 30 minutes. Ben barely spoke to her and didn't even take the time to apply two coats of polish. What upsets me most is that my mom left the salon in tears. At 86 years old, getting her nails done is something she looks forward to, and she deserved the same care and attention she has received in the past--especially when we had made an appointment. Unfortunately, after a year and a half of being loyal customers, this experience was upsetting enough that we will not be returning. read more

I got a shellac manicure on Sunday. I had one nail chipped by Tuesday morning, three by Wednesday afternoon. And my manicure didn't include the hand massage, which is one of my favorite parts. read more

It was my first time at this salon getting a pedi for a vacation. Will be my last. The salon looks nice and clean, but the technician although nice had no idea what he was doing. He didn't ask me basic things like if I wanted the nail shorter (i did) so as a result he had to reshape the nail 3 times and one of them is still not even. He kept aggressively trying to talk me into gels. The worst part is that he skinned the side of my foot while removing calluses. I had a lot of calluses so I put up with it but this morning when I put my shoes on the side of the foot hurts and rubs. If you're going to employ ppl train them. read more

I visited DD Nail and Spa recently and was concerned to find that no licenses were visibly displayed for the nail techs -- which is required by law in Michigan. I politely asked to see my nail tech's license, and they refused to show it. This raised a serious red flag for me. As a customer, I expect clean, legal, and safe services -- and it's my right to know that the person touching my hands and using chemicals is properly trained and licensed. I have since reported this to Michigan's licensing board (LARA) to ensure public health is protected. I recommend others ask to see licenses before getting serviced. Better safe than sorry. I am from out of town and needed my nails done. I went on Google to find nearby nail salons. I checked the ratings and found DD Nails. First of all, it is really peaceful in the salon. It's very clean and nicely decorated. The employees were all really nice. I was offered a snack and drink from a tray. Ok, they don't do this at my regular salon. Ethan was my nail tech and all I can say is I've never had such a detailed manicure in my life. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect.
