Maradith helped me almost two years ago when our front gate had some bent bars. The guys did a phenomenal job fixing it, looked perfect. Same thing happened a few years later and Maradith remembered me, had the same technicians come out, they did another great job and they even fixed a finial that our neighbors broke when they were trimming their trees. That finial was pretty rusty but DCS welded it back in place and it's as strong as it was. Highly recommended, they do excellent metal work and arc-welding plus fine finishing. read more

DCS was recommended by a co-worker and boy were they right! DCS arrived on time to quote me options to change out my ugly standard builder gate. Todd was extremely helpful in helping me convey my ideas into an amazing gate to match my custom front door. He was very patient with me as I went back and forth on colors. The completion time was shorter than quoted for this custom job and the results are just beautiful. During the install the team realized that the lock appeared crocked and didn't look as nice as they would have liked so they left and returned quickly with a replacement. Even though they left they were done quickly and left the area completely clean. If you want sketchy workmanship you have found the company. This is not a company that I chose but they were the contractor. Date of install they told me nothing about what time they would arrive and the company that I was going through kept pushing the time back. When they finally did arrive I was in the process of driving home and they let themselves into my backyard without my permission. The first day of a one day job they only were able to get the posts installed. When I asked when they would be back, they said the following week. The guy I was going through was able to make sure that someone was back the next day. The completed job had so many issues. The welding had gaps, the brackets were bent, the pickets are thinner then I have seen anywhere else, the fence had no support and if you shock it a little it would continue to shake for 10 seconds, and the gate had such a big gap my kids could get their arm into it. The person I was going through came and looked at everything and set up a meeting with this company. A manager from this company came and looked at everything and assured us that the pickets are standard for all of the pools they do (I could have bought thicker at home Depot for less). They arranged to come back and fix the issues. And some of the issues are better but they left a mess and I know the bad welds exsist under caulking. So happy to never have to deal with this company again. read more

My home had a side gate that was the boring standard square gate with wood slats that everyone seems to have in Scottsdale. After deciding that some new gates would be a benefit to the appearance of my house I contacted several companies. Nothing really stood out with any of them, and I selected DCS for the job because I liked the approach. Since I make no claim to have a "design" gene, I left it up to DCS to create whatever gate style they wanted to best suit my home. I was overtly disappointed in DCS Pool Barriers when the crew punctured an irrigation line during the installation of two small fence sections. This occurred despite the fact that I cited the presence of the line to the company owner, Todd, on the day I obtained an estimate for the fence sections. In fact, a second DCS representative was also made aware of the irrigation line just a couple of weeks prior to installation. I was astounded to learn that neither Todd nor his installer made notation of the irrigation line on the original project plan. When I was informed that DCS would not be held responsible for the damaged line, I was extremely disappointed by the company's lack of professional ethics. read more

We just built a new pool and DCS was the subcontractor to do our pool fence. One end of our fence was installed so close to the ground that they had to dig out our grass to install it and we could hardly open the gate as it drug across the ground. The other end of the fence was so high off the ground (5 inches at time of inspection) that we failed final inspection. In addition several posts were more than 4" apart not meeting code. We requested they come back out to install a new gate as we were extending our patio and would not be able to open the gate we had since it was so close to the ground. They charged us for a new gate and explained that they originally had to install so close to the ground for safety/barrier code purposes (which makes. I sense because the other end of the fence was 5 inches above the ground line and failed inspection). When they came to install the new gate one of the hinges was pulling away from the post and they tried to cover up the gap with paint. When we had them come back AGAIN they "fixed" the hinge leaving the gate very shaky and not flush or square. We had agreed that we wouldn't pay for the new gate until we were satisfied with the installation yet they called and demanded payment or they would put a lien on our house. We paid for the gate that was not properly installed two weeks ago and they have yet to come fix it even though we had an appt today. Overall, as other reviewers have noted, their workmanship is poor, their follow through is worse, and they have no intention of correcting errors or making things right once they have collected payment. Todd even noted that the fence should have been installed differently to take into consideration the grade of our yard yet didn't offer to correct their poor work. The post by the gate had several holes in it that they didn't cover leaving it open to rust. There were also a few posts without a cap. I've never left a bad review for a company before but I'd urge you to look into other options when shopping for pool barrier companies. read more

I don't ever write reviews but believe DCS is a 5-star business! Maradith replied within minutes of me requesting a quote and was super helpful throughout the whole process. She was able to schedule an estimate and quote all within 24 hours followed by install the next week. DCS did not charge extra for the magnetic lock which I saw from another company nor did they charge a huge upsell for concrete footers. The day before the install Maradith called to remind me of the appointment and everything went smoothly day of. The price was better than the other quotes I had received and the customer service was excellent! read more

DCS did a great job with our pool fence. Unfortunately, they did not use a protective barrier when welding near the pool. Now we have metal flakes embedded in our plaster. When the owner came out to look at the damage he tried to place blame on the pool plaster company (we had the pool done 2 1/2 years ago with no mysterious dots) and the stated "who knows what could have blown in the pool." I have lived here 6 years and have never had metal flakes blow into the pool. They refuse to make it right so now I am stuck paying to have my pool drained, treated and then filled again. If you have used DCS I urge you to keep an eye on your pool for possible damage but don't expect them to fix their mishaps. I will not be recommending DCS to anyone due to this incident. I am extremely displeased with the treatment I received from the owner and may pursue further action with the ROC. read more

If getting the work done is as difficult as getting an estimate, I wouldn't let the company do work for me. I had called and set an appointment time, which is like an appoint with the cable company (2-5pm). I needed it to be later in the afternoon so my husband could be home to discuss our ideas and the different fencing. The day of the appointment, the service man called at 1130 saying he was done with his other jobs early and could he come over early. When I told him no and explained why, he said he would call the office to see if they could send someone else out. 2 o'clock rolls around and no call to say whether or not they would be sending someone out. So I called the office. I was told that they would be unable to send anyone else out today and didn't have any other late afternoon or saturday appointments this week or next. So what good did it do me to set the original appointment and why do I have to call them to find out that no one would be coming out on the day that THEY said they would? I'm sure their work is fine and may even be great, but I am certainly not impressed with this first impression of the company. Good luck! read more

I just have a hard time giving fives, sorry. But I was very happy with DCS, once the work I needed done was complete. My old sliding door needed rollers badly, I'd always replaced them myself, but this door has a ridge too high to lift he door out, and I didn't want to take the door apart. I called made an appointment, and joked that my wife and I looked like the lady in their add. I hate calling trade's and contractors, first of all, I waited then called, then waited, and finally they showed. I figured here I go! I was told because of the type of door, they would need to come back with two people and it would be more. The next scheduled visit, he showed up on time. Said he was lucky to have the correct part, it's an old heavy door, and I believe it. The second guy wasn't needed, he was able to get the door apart enough to replace the rollers, and get it adjusted. I paid a fair price, the work has held up. The tech who arrived was personable. Enough to give him the number of the person who just installed my landscape. For this kind of work I would call them again. read more

I just needed a quote on a pool fence to keep my small child away from the pool area. It would've been easy money for them since I only wanted a straight line fence to cut the yard in half. I took off work to be there for the quote and to discuss different options. I waited the entire window of time that I was given and they were a no show. I called the office to be informed that an email had been sent to tell me that they needed to reschedule on short notice. It was explained that the technician was on the other side of town that day. I checked my email to find that it was sent an hour before they were supposed to be there. I used a vacation day to get this done when I could've used it to spend time with my family during the summer break. I will not use or recommend a company that can't even show up when they tell you they'll be there. I'll spend my money somewhere else. read more

Apparently the production manager doesn't trust salesman or production crew with a measuring tape. Full 1" + gap beteween gate and posts. Large scrape on gate that was painted over with enamel paint after install...uh, this is powder coated? Looking forward to the rust in a couple of years. Not to mention leaning powder coat against conrete wall prior to install. Ordered sweep for gate that installation crew did not bring, it was ordered to prevent neighbors yard waste from blowing in under the gate, but I guess it doesn't matter to them. Just as well, probably wouldn't last long. No follow up on missing sweep, just went ahead and charged my credit card, at which point they decided to round up numbers for easier math. Sloppy work, no attention to detail. Had them recommended by our pool company fora new fence to meet code. Caps left off of poles, sharp metal from old fence left protruding, gate not properly put in. Pieces of old fence and concrete left all over the yard. They fixed that because we would not pay them remainder until they did. But when we saw that an entire panel was sloppy, bent and not sturdy, they refused to fix it in a nasty email. Said that they told us that was how it would be. No pride in workmanship. We are going to have another fence company fix their shoddy work. read more

Todd showed up at our home as requested and submitted an estimate on the spot. We discussed options and signed the contract that day. Our pool company was suppose to contact him when we were ready for the fence, but there was a mixup and when he called to say he was coming we had to get him to change the install date so we could get our landscape company in to install a new irrigation system and some of the hardscape before the fence was installed. We didn't want to make it harder for our landscape people and we wanted the fence crew to know where the irrigation lines were so they would not damage it. Todd willing changed the scheduled install date and everything worked out fine. The install crew was on time day of install and both of the men were great to work with. Art and Cisco were complete gentlemen, verty professional and friendly. We are impressed and very happy with our fence. I purchased a new gate for my home, as well as a steel security door for our back patio and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The estimated timeframe that was provided was spot on and the installers showed up on time and were exceptionally nice and accommodating. The installation of the side gate went as expected but the installers ran into some issues with the installation of the security door based on some flaws of the house. They worked tirelessly through those issues and spent the day making sure that the installation was finished as expected and that I was satisfied with the installation. Our experience with DCS was not good at all. The representative showed up on time and seemed knowledgable with the measuring and the quote. We waited 3 weeks for the install. The installers showed up on time but did a terrible job. Half the fence that was anchored into the patio concrete was fine as well as the attachment to the brick wall. The other half that went across a grassy area and then anchored to the house was a disaster. The poles in the grass were only set in 3 inches of concrete. The anchor pole was attached to the house using only a moly bolt shoved in through a hole they made in the stucco. The next day we had a wind storm that ripped the moly bolt out of the house ripping a huge hole in the wall. All of the poles set in the grass were ripped up as well. After complaining to DCS, they sent out two new guys to repair the fence and anchor it correctly with a foot of concrete and anchoring the pole to a house stud. They then had to repair the giant hole that was ripped in the stucco. The positive thing was that DCS responded quickly to the problem, but why didn't they just have it installed correctly the first time?? Now we are dealing with a hairline crack that is running from the anchored hole down the entire length of the wall. I'm not sure what we are going to do about this new issue, but are tired of dealing with this company. read more

Rudest staff ever!!! Todd one of the owners does a slick job selling, but you better hope you don't have any problems because customer service goes out the door. They mismeasured the opening of the gate and it did not shut, so instead of dealing with the problem he had his installers reposition the gate one foot away from the agreed upon position, left 12 drill holes on the sideof the house where they had to move it from and it no longer aligned with the edge of the driveway where it was supposed to go. They never said anything. We discovered this after they left and the gate still didn't shut properly because it banged at the top. When we called the office to report the problem, the office staff was rude answering the phone with "What is it?". I can only guess that they answer complaints all day. I wonder why? It has been nothing but problems ever since and we were told it was their most experienced installer who did the job. Don't trust this company. They are used car salesmen!!! read more
