First of all I found out about Ace Fence by checking online for a honest small business that does pool fences in the Phoenix area, and that is where I found all the wonderful recommendations and I"m happy to say I"m now a very satisfied happy customer. Bob came out to view my old pool fence which was rusted and unsafe, and made recommendations (mid October 2022 ) and he said he couldn't give me an exact date of when he could fit me in but he would do it by the end of year as long as I didn't require an exact date. He came through for me and installed the pool fence on December 22, 2022 and gave us an early Christmas present! He was very honest, gave me the most competitive price out of 3 other company bids I received, (saved $1000 over the other bids), and gave me a clean sharp looking SAFE pool fence for my granddaughter. He even went the extra mile to have a curved fence to match my pool deck and its really exceeded my expectations. He also suggested I change a few things/ and was extremely knowledgeable. He recommended a different gate/ door swing direction which is much more convenient and now I have a super safe lock/key system that opens from the very top making it difficult for a child to get into. I couldn't be more impressed. Don't bother calling anyone else. He's your guy! I interview people for a living and when I met Bob, I just knew he was an honest, no nonsense, ethical and "old fashioned" businessman that does what he says he's going to do with a handshake and a smile. To be honest, I'm usually used to being at least somewhat disappointed with work that is done on my house/yard; it never seems fully up to par. When I called him at 9am he did not sound like he even knew he had an appointment, then said he was in Tempe and could make it to Phoenix in 30 minutes. I had the absolute best experience with Ace Fence! Bob sure knows his stuff! My experience with fence companies is a little different than I'm sure what most people experience... We initially had our pool fence done by a DIFFERENT company (subcontracted by our landscapers). This different company was completely unprofessional, and didn't seem to know what they were doing. We have a curved iron fence following the travertine decking. The curved fence was not level, panels were different sizes, gate didn't close well, welds were terrible, panels met the posts at different spots, and the list could go on and on. Bottom line: best pool fence on the planet. No exaggeration. Bob built and installed our pool fence 14 years ago. It is still in PERFECT condition - as good as the day it was installed. Our pool has unusual contours around the perimeter, and I figured that he would simply weld straight pieces of fencing to somewhat match the general contour of the pool. Instead, Bob carefully shaped the fence to match the exact contour of the pool. I didn't even know this was possible. About a week ago, I decided to install a metal gate to protect the pool equipment from our dog who likes to chew anything - shoes, PVC, metal pipes, anything. We have a pool and a young (toddler) grandson. We knew we wanted to put a fence around it for his protection and safety. We got bids from a few people, but we were really impressed with Bob and his bid. First, he agreed to come on a Saturday, so my husband could be here. My husband has over an hour commute every day so meeting Monday through Friday can be impossible and finding people willing to accommodate a weekend time can be tough at times. Bob listened to what hubby wanted with the fence and didn't try to convince him to do something else (as another company had wanted him to do). The fence around the pool is absolutely gorgeous. Bob worked with his workers to get the job done. He didn't "farm" it out, but was here from basically start to finish. We also had him put in two side gates. That work also was very good and looked very professional, etc. We caught him in a time that he was very busy with a lot of other projects but he kept us informed of how long the wait would be and was within days of what he said the wait would be. I searched around for a Fence Contractor, and finally settled on Bob. I needed to replace the pool fence around my patio, and to take down an existing section of the deck perimeter fence. He gave me a more than reasonable estimate, and I signed the contract. Due to his workload, he was backed up 4 weeks. On 02/19/18, he finally arrived and completed the work order. The crew of Mike and Fred were fabulous. They were meticulous, professional, and installed the pool patio fence I wanted. Little did I know what shoddy work I had previously. They carefully removed the section of the fence I wanted down. After installation of the pool patio fence, they arrived the next day to paint. Both Mike and Fred carefully put up protective sheathing around the windows and covered the deck, outside furniture and artificial turf with tarp to ensure no spray paint damage would occur. What a great job! Needless to say, I am very pleased with the fence and workmanship of the installation crew. Appointment for the estimate was scheduled within few days of the request and it was complete promptly. This is the only good thing I can say about my experience with this company. In the process of considering this quote I did verify all the measurements and dollar amounts, and they were not accurate making the estimate higher than it should be. Called back to get clarification about the numbers included in the estimate. In the very unprofessional response I was told that I should not question the numbers in the proposal and because I did the contractor is not willing to do the project. Shocked with the outcome of the call I thought I was obligated to aware any other potential clients. Since the work was not perform I cannot judge the craftsmanship, but the poor customer service and lack of accuracy cannot possibly produce good results. read more
