He gave me a quote on Saturday, then was here to do the job this morning. They trimmed 6 Queen Palm trees for me. Instead of cleats or spikes, Derrick uses an extension ladder to get up into the trees to avoid damaging them. read more

Derrick, his father Rick, and employee Chris went above and beyond. They Cut down 4 trees, and pruned 4 fruit trees. Rick did a walk through and discovered 2 trees growing on the side of my house right by our shed and another by our water sprinkler pipes.. he advised me to cut it down to prevent damage to the water pipes. This house is new to us and I didnt even know about it and the potential damage it would cause. He also recommended I cut 3 trees down by the fence as it was already causing the fence to go crooked. Rick also noticed I had grape vines growing and showed me how to properly prune them. Derrick showed me that our apple tree was growing side ways due to the weight of the fruits it was bearing and told me how to get it to grow back straight. My neighbor is now getting their trees cared for by this team. And I will be having them come back next season. read more

Had highest estimate of 4 like businesses. I accepted bid as he could do it soonest. I had to re-call him to get start date. He failed to show up within 2 hrs of agreed start time. When I called to cancel, he said he'd decided to start 3 hrs later. I have NO message or miss call from him to notify me. These guys were great! We have 4 large trees that needed trimming. Derrick climbed up in the oak tree and did all the trimming we had agreed on, making all my fence neighbors happy. They also thinned out the ginko and did some trimming on both redwoods. They were very friendly, worked hard, and cleaned up everything from our yard and our nieghbors where they had to go to get some of the branches. I would definitely recommend this service. read more

I asked Derrick for an estimate on trimming many large eucalyptus after a limb drop came way too close for comfort. He came over the same day and did a careful evaluation, giving me suggestions and listening to my concerns. He and his team team worked for two days taking out the most potentially dangerous limbs in a conscientious yet efficient way, cleaning up as they went until the area looked much better than it did before the work began. Then he trimmed some of the ornamental trees around the house and went above and beyond by noticing and taking out the eucalyptus volunteers that were threatening to crack the foundation of the barn. I wanted to start saying I have never been more humiliated and belittled by someone like this before. I called to request a tree estimate service with Derrick, I have two small children and they so happen to have a lingering cough , while trying to speak with him my son begins to cough, this supposed professional states to me ,"is your child okay, you should maybe make sure your child is okay before you speak to me!" when I say I was fuming with rage. Completely unprofessional and hands down the worst interaction I have ever had with a small business owner. I could not believe him belittling me as a mother, I would never ever dream of saying such a degrading comment to anyone, because he doesn't know me or the countless nights as a mother I pour love and concern into the wellbeing of my children, and to be spoken to like this is disgusting. I felt i need to let people know because I value a considerate person, especially in a business where customers come to support your small business, absolutely unacceptabl. A wind storm split one of our giant pear trees in half and left half of it laying in the road and the other half standing. I called about 8 a.m., and Derrick and his father Rick came right out. Derrick was very good at keeping us informed when he had to reschedule our appt, we liked him when he came out and gave us a quote. He was very professional and pleasant. We told him we were getting several quotes and would get back to him. We called Derrick to hire him and get a date scheduled for the work, spoke on the phone and he said he would call back. He never did. We tried texting a couple days later and still no reply. So we ended up finding another tree service to do the work. If he didn't want to do the work he could have had the courtesy to call us and let us know, that would have been fine. We didn't apppreciate the non response. If he had returned our call and said he wanted to renogiate his estimate we would have considered it. He said he was trying to grow his business but he lost us as a customer and referral to others when he ignored us. read more
