OH MY DELICIOUSNESS!! I got Cookie butter, my son got Vanilla Pecan - both were wonderful. The woman working was kind enough to help me charge my phone while we were there!! What they did with the space is unbelievable. Tis an obvious labor of love and we were thankful to find it. Be sure to check out the phenomenal Art along their hallway!

Peach & Mango "Smoothie" slushy with chunks of ice, as you can see in the pic

Just so happened to stop by to grab something quick since I was already late to work. I walk by this place every Wednesday when I come to work, but today was the day. Or not. I had something small, and I ordered the everything bagel *toasted* with cream cheese and a peach and mango smoothie. Welp! The everything bagel was missing everything. It was naked with a few sprinkle of freckles. It was warm but not toasted as requested. I took one bite and wasn't happy. The smoothie was'nt smoothing. It was more like a slushy with chunks of ice. It tastes good. However, needs more blending and smoothing. Will I give it another chance? Yes, I will.

I have not visited the shop but , I did purchase one of the sweet potato cup cakes from Starbucks. The cupcake was delicious it consisted of a moist delicious sweet potato cake with a creamy cheesecake topping. I definitely intend to visit the shop in DC.

Ahhh! We stopped by on our walk from the White House because of the local banner it had! We walked in and were greeted and even got to sample the cakes before committing to one! I definitely recommend the ground beef wrap! The original cake was great too. As far as the ambiance you see local artists and greeted with their purple decor. I'll be back!

Our company made a corporate order for these delicious cupcakes. We were remote, but April was a dream to work with -- she personally handled every detail and communicated constantly to assure us that everything was well-managed. She went above and beyond to decorate the cupcakes in our corporate colors. They delivered on time, on budget, and exactly as ordered. I highly recommend DC Sweet Potato Cake. Thank you April and team!

This is a great black owned bakery in the city, everything about the spot is five stars. From the cakes, to the customer service. Great ambience, and the core. I really enjoyed the art, and we able to sit down and watch out of the big, beautiful windows and people watch. The cake was moist with just the right amount of sweetness and texture.

Stumbled upon this shop after going to a nearby business and I'm glad I did! Apparently I'm late to the party...they're a well-known, black woman-owned business who distributes it's sweets throughout the DC area, including Costco! Must: Try the sweet potato cake! It's their signature dessert! So why not! Please excuse the pic of the half eaten cake...but take it as a compliment to my little one baking inside. We love our sweets and couldn't wait to dive in! Heads up: The shop is small but very cute! I enjoyed conversing with the son of the owner and he was on point with his recommendations! Tip: My cake kept well in the refrigerator for 2 days before I ate it and still was fresh! Buy a few options and indulge!

This little amazing bakery specializes in sweet potato cakes. I first tasted this delectable dessert at Starbucks, and was hooked ever since. Once Starbucks was sold out for a few visits, I was on the hunt to find this shop. It has moved from Savor hall to a small shop on Baltimore avenue. I parked and walked up to the door, only to find out that it wasn't opened for business. The owner April came to the door and let me know that the shop wouldn't be opened for business until early May, and after I told her how amazing her desserts were she allowed me to sample a variety of her sweet potato cake flavors. I thought that the original was good, but I was equally impressed with all the other flavors. Each cupcake was moist, and almost melts in your mouth. Not too sweet, and the cream cheese icing just may be my favorite part. I am a huge red velvet fan, so I may have been most pleased with that variation. I just can't wait until the grand opening so I can frequent this shop! It is a must try if you're in the area. The best part is that these treats are sold in stores around the p.g county area. Participating Starbucks, Safeway, Wegmans...just to name a few. If you can find it, try it. Or just wait until the new location opens in May 2021!

It's standard vanilla with toppings. I got Nutella and wife got butterfinger. It's hand scooped ice cream. And the toppings are generous. Service is ok. You don't get service with a smile. A short jaunt the hotel and squarely in downtown, it's an all things cobbler themed spot. Kids got Mac and cheese with meat, plus a mini cobbler, and my better half and I shared a "biscuit cobbler" - which was effectively a delicious biscuit over top a thick soup. It was solidly in the pretty good category. A little cold in the middle but it filled me up. The biscuits were excellent - like Bojangles good (Biscuit connoisseurs will feel that!). The Mac and cheese was good and the cobblers were solid. The mini cobbler was like $2 and came as part of a combo. Get that - enough to get a good taste, but not massive. The banana pudding (the bourbon walnut specifically) was the show stopper for me. I'm sure it's gonna box, but it was really good! The woman helping us was very nice and got us served and fed quickly. Not an every day spot, but an, I'm walking by and feeling like dessert at 2 pm sort of spot for sure!

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

The space is a pretty cute, modern café with cherry blossom décor and a great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We honestly tried almost everything Garlic Scallion Bun - Soft, lightly toasted with just the right crunch. Inspired by a Taiwanese garlic bun, it was super easy to eat and one of my favorites (9/10). Matcha Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - A rectangular croissant absolutely loaded with matcha and chocolate, topped with matcha powder. It was almost a bit too heavy on the matcha for me, and the bitterness overpowered the chocolate. Banana Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - Banana cream on top with banana chocolate inside. Pretty straightforward--tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a banana chocolate croissant. Ube Cheese Kouign Amann - Unique sweet-and-savory combo. The ube adds a subtle sweetness while the cheese gives it a creamy balance. Rich and slightly dense, and I just wished there was a bit more filling to balance the pastry. Miso Garlic Salted Bread - One of my top picks. Savory, buttery, and paired with a slightly sweet brioche-like base that balances everything really well. Elote Bread - Corn-topped savory bread with a nice sweetness and texture. This and the miso garlic bread were tied for my favorites. Strawberry Passionfruit Kouign Amann - Fruity and rich, but a bit filling overall. I just wished there was more filling to balance the pastry. Sugared Donut - Simple and classic, just a soft, sugary donut done right. Drinks: * Strawberry Matcha & Mango Matcha - Both layer fruit puree with matcha, but the flavors stay quite separate rather than blending together. * Vietnamese Coffee with Cold Foam - Strong coffee base with strawberry-flavored cold foam. It's pretty sweet overall with less of a coffee-forward taste, but still smooth and enjoyable. * White Mocha Latte - More coffee-forward compared to the sweeter drinks, which I actually preferred. Overall, I loved my visit--great spot for both savory and sweet pastries with creative flavor combinations and a lot to try. I definitely preferred the savory items over sweet here particularly the garlic scallion bun!

When I stopped by, it was raining heavy, but the walk from the metro was totally worth it. I stepped inside, heard some great R&B jams playing, and I made my way to work that amazing smell was coming from. Along the way, I passed some cute merch -- insulated bags and more. And then there was a freezer with all of their pints, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes. I got up to where the scoops are being served, and there was a very helpful sign next to it with all of the descriptions. I appreciate it the thorough breakdown of what has allergens, what has dairy, and what is vegan. I pretty much tried everything. My favorites were the vegan ones (spiced peanut crunch, tamarind spice), the spiced date cake, saffron pistachio, mangos & cream, black forest... I could keep going. I split a generous scoop of the spiced date cake & saffron pistachio and it was divine. I could've gotten some cool toppings too, but decided not to. It was $8 as is XD. It's definitely a splurge, but a unique flavor profile like this I think it's totally worth it. The pints are $12, which also isn't bad for something this unique imo. I'll be back to get some pints. I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I've found the soft serve to be better than the hard ice cream, but it almost has too creamy of a texture. The yogurt soft serve flavor with cardamom was the best thing I've tasted there. My vongole pasta was good too; I do like pasta more on the firmer side, which it was. It tasted great with the calm, garlic, and olive oil - simple, yet tasty. The presentation was beautiful - sliced and then arranged back together like the chef was Michelangelo himself. The small amount of juice around the chicken was excellent - butter and salt and rosemary and a veritable symphony of umami flavors! Divine!
