Avi was great. The deadlatch in my doorknob broke and I got stuck inside my apartment. After freeing myself I called DC locksmith based off of Yelp reviews. They called me back immediately and sent someone out the next day as I requested. When Avi came he assessed the situation and suggested a better and cheaper solution than I realized was possible in fixing the doorknob. He checked for the appropriate parts and came back today to install it. He took maybe two minutes to install it and cured me of any lingering claustrophobia I had. STAY CLEAR AT ALL COSTS! NEVER AGAIN! GO WITH LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE! Save your money and sanity. I never write bad reviews but this was a horrible/traumatic experience...wtf is a company that has employees like this...borderline scam. These other reviews must be cooked because this is an absolutely terrible service. When Avi came he was rude, unfair and completely unprofessional. After I was locked out, Avi looked at the my door and then told me it would cost $290 to drill-in and destroy my stuck lock and then replace it (which btw was much higher than the locksmith I since hired after him). I suggested trying to fix the lock with simply a pliers, Avi said it wouldn't work and proceeded to watch me literally do his job and struggle to fix the lock. (without destroying it) He then went back to his van to smoke and then said he would leave and go to another customer in 5 minutes. I literally fixed it myself using his pliers and after returning to his van, Avi said loudly in an angry voice, you still have to pay me $50. $50 for doing absolutely nothing?!! (other than being a dick) (also other company's usually have a $29 house call fee if that). He tried to convince me that I owed him $50 to use his stupid pliers for 5 minutes. (I had just borrowed a pliers from a neighbor for free) Sad that this happened, but glad I didn't let this guy destroy my lock for $290. Have since found another locksmith who is reasonable and doesn't try to scam people. read more
