They exceeded any and all expectations I could have had! Long story short, I lost my key chain that had my car keys and house keys. My boyfriend didn't bring his keys with him on our mini trip for the weekend and I lost them to an Uber who did not return the to me, but instead put them in a post office box. Not only were they super understanding, they tried to remind us that sometimes stuff happens and we need to just roll with the punches. DC locksmith had to get through 3 locks/doors to get us back into our home. 2 drilled out locks, 3 doors, and a new dead bolt later we are safe and securely in our home. I needed a locksmith after locking myself out of my home in Georgetown this morning. I was just leaving for work when I realized (just as I pulled the door shut) that I had left my keys on the kitchen table. My neighbor who has a spare key was away on business, and I couldn't wait around because I had an appointment at work. In other words, I needed a locksmith really fast (you always do). I checked on Yelp and was impressed by the 5-star reviews for DC Locksmith so I gave them a call. They said they could have someone there in 20-30 minutes. Shortly after speaking to Avi, Udi called me from another job in Dupont Circle and said he was on the way. Udi arrived in 20 minutes and handled the job in a professional manner. He wasn't able to bump or pick the older lock (a small strike against him, but understandable because the lock had been previously re-keyed), so we decided to replace the cylinder and match it to my existing key. Udi was professional, offered me a variety of options for replacing the lock (clearly explaining the prices for his various services). He charged me a very reasonable price for a replacement lock and doorknnob, which were actually better than my existing set. The whole job took less than 30 minutes from the time he arrived. Normally, I would feel like an idiot about locking myself out and having to pay for locksmith services - an avoidable expense if I had only planned better. But Udi handled everything quickly and professionally, and with good humor. He also explained that he and his brother were starting a new business, and I really didn't feel bad about having to pay a couple of hundred bucks for his service and the new lock because the service was so good. I hopefully won't need to see a locksmith for a long time, but if and when I do need one, I'm definitely calling Udi and Avi again. read more

Avi and Udi were great, they responded right away and came out to my property same-day. They explained my options, and got to work right away. They spent a couple hours removing the door from the hinges to get a look at the lock, and then put the door back in place. They never asked me for any payment until they ordered the part, installed it, and the door was fixed a couple weeks later. I had a lot of problems with another DC-area locksmith getting this lock fixed before calling DC Locksmith, and they were a life saver. The other company told me the lock was custom and needed to be fully replaced, but DC Locksmith was able to repair the existing lock by just ordering one part. They always responded quickly when I called for an update and were a pleasure to deal with. read more

Needed new locks with a day's turn-around. Udi was scheduled to arrive between 9:30 - 10:30 am this morning. When he didn't arrive at 10:30 am, I called and he apologized and said he would be over in 45 minutes - 1 hour. Luckily, I had the time, so I waited. He came within the hour and immediately assessed and recommended a much better quality lock for my rental unit's front door. He was able to make the door feel more solid upon closure by adjusting the strikeplate for the deadbolt and door knob. Udi was very communicative about pricing and what he was going to provide with regards to product and service. Udi owns it with his brother, and it is a mobile company. They come to you; there is no "shop." This is exactly what most of us need! The owner is incredibly gracious and knowledgable. He drove to my house from far away and opened the lock with some special tool that allowed him to open the door without taking the handle off and damaging the door. His rates are reasonable for the area, but more importantly he was very quick and knows a lot about locks. Apparently the lock I had was installed wrong and he identified that immediately.
