I went there for an admissions test last week and the gentlemen at the counter, I'm assuming it was the owner, was extremely polite and made sure his customers were satisfied. These guys sent out a coupon over the weekend, so naturally, my family took advantage of it ($10 off emissions testing = win, plus other deals). Being that we have three cars, the costs can really add up. I, like the other reviewer, always freak out when I have to take the cars in for a lil' fixing. The last time I had to take in the Lexus, it turned into an uncomfortably sticky fiasco, which ended with us probably never going back to that facility. And, there's all those horror stories where these mechanics try to gip you, especially if you look like me: petite girl who looks like she's barely in high school. Lol Oh, and did I mention that I'm not the sharpest knife when it comes to cars? Too bad I'm not Mona Lisa Vito... Anyway - I digress. The location is good (as in, easy to find, easy to enter/exit, spacious with enough parking spots), and the people are very courteous and don't seem shady haha ...I arrived around 11:30 on a Monday and requested an emissions check (something my mom told me would only take 10 minutes because she had came by earlier that morning with one of our other cars), and was informed it would take 45 minutes. As I watched the clock tick by and flipped through the wide array of magazines in the clean waiting room, I was told after an hour and 15 minutes that they just started on my car. Oh man. I left around 1. Yes, the estimated time was way off, but as I was about to leave, a gentleman (probably the owner?) came out and personally apologized about the wait, explaining that due to the coupons, they've experienced an unexpected upsurge in customers. Apparently, about 60 people came in over the weekend just for the coupon services. Impressive. Anyhow, I assured the man that I understood and that I would keep them in mind for future services (which I think would make sense since this place is like 3 minutes from our house). I appreciated the apology and so, I won't freak out too much about the insane wait. Also, I appreciated that they didn't try to sell me other things. Anyway, like I said, my mom came super early in the morning and was done in 10 minutes, which means that if it's not incredibly busy, then they are efficient and effective. read more

I needed to have my two engine belts changed in my 2005 Hyundai. I called around to several places requesting an estimate. Pricing was all over the place. DC happened to quote the lowest price and since it was right down the street from my house, I chose to take it there. What a fantastic experience. Great service and great work. A mechanic that does not give you a laundry list of recommended repairs trying to jack up your service bill. Very nice people! I know nothing about cars and they showed me what needed to be replaced and asked if I wanted to go ahead with other filters that needed to be replaced as well. Very reasonably priced and I was able to get an oil change, light bulb replaced, air filter, and an emissions in about 45 minutes! All of the people here do a great job! read more

Took my vehicle in because I was hearing a tapping noise coming from the engine. DC told me that I needed a new engine because of the high mileage. Even though I had high mileage, I always took care of my vehicle and change the oil every 3k miles. They told me they would have to break my engine down to tell what parts were worn and that it's best to get a new or use engine which would cost over $2000 dollars. They charge me the standard service fee. I then proceeded to take my vehicle to another mechanic shop for a second opinion. They found that my Exhaust Manifold bolt was broken, which was causing the tapping noise. I paid $350 for repairs. Will NEVER take my vehicle to DC Auto Service and Sales again. read more

As a woman, I want to find a car service place that is honest and doesn't try to upsale. Unfortunately this was not the place. I went in for an oil change, and came out paying $250+ when they told me I needed to have my transmission flushed and back differential fluid changed. They said I had metal in my transmission fluid so it was pretty urgent. Come to find out, it wasn't that urgent, I didn't have anything out of the ordinary and while it's good for the car, it could have waited. I just want a place that is honest and doesn't see me walk in and think "woman = $$". Is that to much to ask? :(. read more

Went there on my lunch hour for an oil change. I used to always choose this place when I was working in that area. NO MORE WILL I GO THERE!!! I pulled in and was told it would be a 10-12 minute wait. That was absolutely fine UNTIL a man walked in and said he would go elsewhere for an emissions test if he was not taken immediately. They catered to him and left me sitting. I had already been waiting 20 minutes by then and they had just pulled my truck in to begin working on it. They left my truck and went to do the emissions for that guy. I had them close my hood and I left. I WORK TOO and MY TIME is as important as the next person's. I wasted an hour waiting on them. I did not appreciate the inconsiderate manner in which I was treated. I hope they made a huge profit off the emissions test. They won't be making anymore from me and oil changes happen more frequently than emissions. read more

My son was out of town in Atlanta area when his brakes went out and D.C. Auto was the only place that had an available opening that late in the evening. They repaired a front caliper in short order and charged me less than my local, family mechanic would have. I'm a car restoration hobbyist who knows good work when I see it and also appreciates a mechanic who is easy to communicate with, and they checked both those boxes. The work they did was top notch and they seemed to understand the inherent problem with my vehicles' difficult to understand, poorly designed brake system. It's gone out many times before and ensured it was fixed right. I called later to ask questions about the nature of the repair, since, again, it was my son who had them make the repair, and I had not been present during the transaction. D.C. was helpful, knowledgeable, upbeat,.. friendly, as they helped me determine what had happened and why they did what they did. How could you ask for more? My son is only 17, and they could easily have taken advantage of his inexperience with such matter, but they instead, took care of him in his isolated situation far from home. It strikes me as odd that a couple of folks posted negative reviews, by writing vague reasoning as to exactly what their complaint was. One customer, Edwin, seems like that type that just has a chip on his shoulder, wherever he goes. Read his post, you'll see what I mean. The other, Mary, seems like the classic customer who just takes it out on the mechanic when her car needs servicing. She was ticked off about a $250 bill.. Wow. Does she have any clue that mechanics have to charge $85 an hour just to keep bread on the table? Guess she'd be happy if they changed her transmission and transaxle fluids for free. Short of knowing the details of her situation, $250 sounds perfectly reasonable for the labor and parts for what they recommended she needed accomplished. Some folks just want something for nothing, but if you're someone like me, who wants straight up work for straight up price.. look no further than these pros at D.C.
