I don't typically do reviews and auto repair shops, but I have to give this shop a review because of the quality of work that they do and the reasonable prices that they charge. I've taken my Toyota Tundra here several times to get work done and they always resolved the issue in a very short amount of time. Their quotes and their prices are within reason. Just the other day, my wife had a problem with a window on her Nissan. I was away at work and she decided to take her car to the Premier Nissan Mall of Georgia Dealership on Buford Drive. She informed them that she had an engine light on and all the widows periodically would not roll up or down all the way. They charged my wife a diagnostic fee of 185.00 for each identified issue, with other fees and tax that came to $381.00 (includes a charge for credit card usage for payment). As part of their assessment, they determined that only 1 window motor needed to be replaced and the O2 Sensor needed replacing. In addition, they provided quotes for replacing the tires and wheel alignment. The total repair for the two issues we brought the car in for came to approximately $1,450. If my wife would have agreed to the other suggested quotes for tires and the alignment, the total would be $2,234.02!!! That's ridiculous!!!! $862.26 for replacing one motor, when all the windows in her 4-door car was having problems. Thank goodness I was able to go with her to discuss their assessment. I advise my wife we need to take her car to this Japanese Auto Repair, which I've used many times before. After dropping the car off, Japanese Auto Repair informed us that they just simply reset the window control mechanism, which resolved all the problems with the windows not going up and down correctly. This was done at no charge ($0) to us. Next, they required the part (O2 Sensor) which they would have on hand the next day. Next day, as promised, they called and informed me that my wife's car was repaired and ready for pickup. I am very pleased with the service we get from this location and will send my wife, our kids and all our friends there for all future service activities on her car. If you want quality auto service performing your Japanese vehicle, then I recommend using Japanese Auto Repair!!! Just to conclude this review, I want to share what it cost to actually resolve the problems with my wife's car. The total repair cost from Japanese Auto Repair was $301, which was less than what my wife had to pay the Dealer's incorrect diagnostic fee ($380). read more

The staff are polite and will explain everything in detail. Their labor rate is less than other shops. They use OEM parts. They are just like going to a dealer, only costs are less, you do not have to wait weeks/months to get in or wait weeks/months to get your vehicle back. Excellent and courteous staff. However, their prices are to high for this area. Hourly rate for labor much higher than their competitors. Also, added an extra hour to the job. I had a repair that was quoted two hours (BOOK) . Where their competitors only required a ONE HOUR BOOK. I would strongly suggest that you shop around. I went to three different shops , and all were considerable less. For, example their labor per hour is 140. Where all other were under a 100. Power steering flush is double as compared to Mavis and Express Oil. I went into the store to ask about these prices. Especially the extra hour of labor. In my opinion, it doesn't take two hours to replaced a high pressure power steering hose. It only takes 0.6 hours of labor at 90 bucks at Express Oil. The GM could care less about this bill. Did not even look at it. Just gave me excuses. I have been doing business with these guys for a few years. In addition to that they only gave me 5% military discount and not a 10% like everyone else. How greedy can they get. What about customer loyalty. Out the door. read more

Do not use this business. I took my vehicle in for repair as my ABS and traction control lights came on after brake change I did myself. I took my vehicle here to get it checked out. They kept it all day and then told me it would be $2500 to replace the ABS module. Recently another shop checked it out and found that the abs1 relay was simply loose throwing the warning light on. Decided to try this place because of all the good reviews but unfortunately I did not have the same experience as everyone else. I took my Infiniti in to have a converter replaced. When I asked to see proof that my part came directly from Infiniti as promised not one person could do that. It was at this moment that I could not trust this place. I was also quite annoyed with the old loaner vehicle they put me despite knowing I was having such an expensive job done. Never again would I return to this place. read more

We have a 2022 Subaru Outback, and have done the first 6 oil changes at the dealer, Subaru of Gwinett. Each one took about two hours, and the last one was three. Needing another oil change, I thought I'd see if there were other options. A simple search brought up this place. I called, and spoke to Josh. He was both informative, and accommodating. I we not in today and was quite surprised with what a nice place it was. Josh greeted me, took some information, and put the wheels in motion. The waiting room was nicer than nearly every dealership I've seen down here. I asked to see the shop, and Josh brought me back there. You could eat off the floor or any bench I saw. They even had an in ground alignment rack, which makes it possible for them to even service modified or "lowered" vehicles. The car was done in just less than an hour. Josh didn't try to upsell me anything. He simply told me we should watch tire wear the next visit or so. Same with brakes. We have 37000 miles already, so these recommendations didn't surprise me. All in all, it was a great experience. If you have any car, not just Japanese, I'd highly recommend giving them a try. You may find your new "go to" shop. read more

Update: I would take my Infiniti here for an Oil Change, or for a minor repair. A major repair, since they insist getting the part from Infiniti, there is not enough money saving difference between JAR and the Dealership. Update on my car Light Assembly repair. The aftermarket I purchased looked exactly the same as the original part, and works the same. My neighbor that put it in quoted me a price for labor, instead I gave him a tip of $75 over that. I saved $1,445 from what JAR quoted me, and $1,945 from what Infiniti quoted me. It took my neighbor 1 1/2 hours to put the part in, and after 9 months it looks and is wording fine. Know the price of the part from Infiniti, Infiniti wanted $1,000 labor and JAR wanted $500 labor for the job that took my neighbor 1 1/2 hours to do. Now my A/C is out. I might go to JAR for the diagnostic, (everyone is about $150 for that), yet not for a major repair in needs based on my experience. Never Infiniti...and should never have bought an Infiniti, the Nissan Dealer was rude to me even asking if they would repair my car, which has many parts the same exact as the Pathfinder. read more

If you decide to use this place for diagnosis get a second opinion on whatever they tell you needs repair. The old JAR is no more. I have taken my car there two times in the past 2 years and neither time did they repair what was broken. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they had done good work in the past. After they misdiagnosed the problem i brought the car in for and recommended an additional $1k of service on top of the $600+ they wanted to replace my rotor and brakes i will not he returning. My brakes were just fine and i suspect there weren't any leaks since my car is parked in my driveway and there are no oil or other stains. I hope the approximately $3k plus you got from me over the past 3 years is enough to keep your business going because it is the last you will see from me. I will be taking my car to Cumming Nissan from now on where the work may cost a little bit more but gets done right the first time, what they recommend actually needs to be done, and they stand behind their work. read more
