We did encounter some issues, however, Matt had his team work with us to correct them as we encountered them (i.e. faulty pre-wire causing false-positives on the alarm). I have to give a special shout out to Keith. He installed every single TV in the house to perfection. I was really looking forward to a beautiful flush mount install of our TVs in every room (especially the living, game, and media rooms) and he delivered. Of the 4 bids I requested, Wire Genie came in the middle in price but Eric was heads and above in his consideration and scoping of the task whereas many other installers seemed to be guestimating effort. Eric had a number of helpful suggestions both from camera positioning to running lines for future use and he did a phenomenal job on running a POE Doorbell camera behind brickwork and only needing one access cut that, at his suggestion, we put a 2-outlet blank faceplate over for future access/maintenance if needed. Eric is now that guy for me with networking. My home has never had good internet. It was built before internet was much of a thing, it's stone, has radiant barrier, outdated connections, nonstandard shape, etc. I prepped Eric for these challenges among others and told him I had very high standards. He was undeterred and we set up a consultation. Eric had to have really impressed me, as I let him drill through stone which is highly uncharacteristic of me. I now have rock solid WiFi both inside and outside my house ~600Mbps for an extended distance and constant speeds over Ethernet even faster than that. The installer showed up late, seemed completely unprepared, and didn't even know how the system was supposed to work. Sensors were crooked and one camera works only sometimes. When I asked about it, I was told "that's how I was told to do it" and "most people think it's ok". The system went offline multiple times, including once while we were out of town. What's the point of paying for the services if it doesn't work when you need it most? Customer service is a joke. Calls go unanswered and when someone finally responds, they act like you are the problem. Every issue was blamed on my internet, my phone, or "user error," even though the system wasn't working rights from day one. How is it my fault when the app says that a camera is offline? What am I supposed to do but contact them. I pay them monthly for the service, so if something says it is not working then I think it's reasonable to say I can call them. What is not reasonable is for there to be no customer service when the system is malfunctioning. To make matters worse, I was locked into a contract and threatened with cancellation fees instead of offered real support or a fix. If you care about your safety, your money, or your sanity, stay far away from this company. I regret ever signing up. I thought I was doing good by going with a small company, but I should have called ADT, Vivint, or someone bigger.

I wanted to update my A/V equipment to improve both the stereo music and surround sound in our…read morefamily room (not a dedicated home theater). After researching equipment I found that ALP offered one of two A/V receiver brands, the Audio Control AVR series, that could compensate for the difficult aspects of the room (wood floors, lots of glass, open kitchen concept) because they can be calibrated with DIRAC. Able came to my home to access the situation and concluded the receiver and calibration would definitely improve my stereo sound and modestly improve my surround sound. After installation I realized a dramatic improvement in both! The ALP team also installed a motorized fireplace mount (very cool!), and reconfigured all of my other A/V equipment for the best connections to the new AVR-9 receiver. Excellent job! The consultation was free of any sales pitch, the installation and calibration was done by genuine experts in the most professional manner.
