When I arrived to my hotel in Anchorage, I immediately reached out to the Daybreaks Spa. I found it so easy to find in midtown Anchorage on 555 Northern Lights Blvd. Do not get confused with the Qin Spa that is located right next to The Alaska Pizza Company
While I didn't think my massage from about a year got at Daybreaks Spa would get any better, it actually did. I noticed that the lobby and ceiling tiles had been cleaned and/or replaced. I rang the bell conveniently located next to the screen door and waited for someone to greet me while I sat down in the lobby and removed my shoes.
The therapist welcomed me (although I didn't get her name) and asked me what type of massage I preferred and I told her that I wanted a hard massage after a grueling and long trip dealing with the TSA shortages, a table shower and then a lighter massage. She led me to a room with a twin bed that had parallel bars so she could stand and walk on my back. I usually don't like massages with feet but the therapist had such small and soft feet that it felt incredible. She knew exactly where to apply pressure either with her hands or her feet when she was standing and walking on my back. After that session, she had me slip into some black slippers, put a soft robe on me and escorted me down the hall to the table shower room. She took the robe off and had me lie down on a rubber mat in the shower room. She poured warm water on me from a large bucket and hosed me with warm water. The temperature of the water was PERFECT! She used a mesh bath sponge and was thorough with her washing yet continuing to ask me if everything was ok. Once I was rinsed off, she had me turn over and washed me with the sponge and then rinsed me off again. Once finished, she had me sit up and started to dry me off, then had me stand and finished until I was completely dry. She put the robe back on me and then we walked into a room with a full size bed lined with fresh linens and a comfortable pillow. She left the room while I disrobed and I laid down looking into a mirror placed directly in front of the pillow. She returned playing some music and then finshed drying me off using these really soft towels on my feet. She offered me oil and massaged my back area with comfortable pressure. It was so relaxing how she massaged all my back, neck, thighs, calves and feet asking me if there were any sensitive areas. After massaging my back, she cleaned the oil off and had me turn over. She finished massaging all areas in the front. I was smitten at how pretty she was. When she finished, she asked me if I would like cold or room temperature water. She returned with a cold12 oz. bottle of water and some candy. I gave her a reasonable tip which she thanked me for and escorted me out. I will DEFINITELY return to Daybreaks Spa on my next visit to Anchorage!!! read more
