I personally had a bad experience after getting my hair done by Chelsea Chavez. I saw her for a balayage and hair cut. I have very dark brown hair and asked for blonde and medium brown balayage highlights. I sent her pictures of my hair (which had previous balayage in it that was growing out) and my inspo pics. Even while trying to book the appointment she would take days to respond which I was patient and kind about. I showed her the same inspo pics in the beginning of the appointment and she certainly gave me the impression that she could achieve something very similar. I told her I wanted the blonde highlights to start up high and thick highlights. She was very nice during the appointment which I appreciated. At the end of the appointment I did notice my hair wasn't as blonde as I was wanting but I only had literally a minute to examine my hair as I was in a rush to get home to my kids, and I thought after washing it and giving it a few days it would maybe lighten up. After I paid for the appointment Chelsea told me to let her know if there was anything I didn't like which gave me the impression that she would be willing correct my hair with no problem. I paid $400 (for color, cut, and tip). She even charged me an extra $50 for color and toner which no makes considering the lack of color she actually put in my hair. After 3 days I texted Chelsea to ask if she could add more blonde highlights (that I really should have gotten in the first place). She didn't respond which didn't surprise me so I called the salon after 4 days of not hearing back and the front desk girl said she would relay the message. She texted me 3 days after that (so total of of 7 days before she actually responded). I was being kind and patient as I know she is busy but it is obviously poor customer service if you take one week to finally respond to your customers. She agreed to fit me in soon to add more blonde highlights which I assumed would be free of charge given the amount of money I already spent. I asked if the appointment would be free of charge to confirm, she didn't respond so I texted her again after 5 days to which she responded she would charge me $75. I sent her pictures of my hair so she could see the lack of color and asked if she would be willing to correct it for free as I already paid hundreds of dollars. She then claimed that we discussed "protecting the integrity of my hair" and told me in the beginning of the appointment it would take two sessions to achieve the blonde I wanted which was a total lie! She never said that. Trust me, I would have remembered if I needed to pay over $500 for a balayage. What upsets me the most is she is perfectly fine with taking my money and not trying to make it right. I feel scammed, deceived, and disheartened. All of which I told her and surprise surprise, she did not respond so of course I chose to not keep the second appointment as I feel she was unfairly charging me more money. I truly don't understand how there are people who are willing to take your money without giving you the service you asked for. I told I appreciated the amount of time she spend with me but at the end of the day I did not receive the service I asked and paid for. Lesson to be learned: just because some appears to nice can also mean they are capable of scamming you. I had a Brazilian done yesterday and Mycah had told me that there was a little bit of hair left behind and I didn't think it was bad but when I took a shower and looked, it was quite a bit more than I thought, I called to see if I could go back in so she could fix it and they were going to charge me more money for it, I paid $75 for a Brazilian and left a $10 tip and they want me to pay more to fix what Mycah did. Please find someone else to get your Brazilian done. read more

I just moved here and took a chance on Encore Esthetics based on reviews. I'm so glad I did! Rose resurrected my neglected pandemic brows! They turned out perfect! The shape is natural but polished. They're just the right thickness and space apart. I'm in BROW HEAVEN! The wax smells really nice and is great for sensitive skin. It didn't hurt as bad as the last time I got waxed, and I think it had a lot to do with this formula. The salon is located just inside the medical building on the left. Went in for "lymphatic drainage", all the rich foods and wine this holiday season really did a number on me and my face and eyes were all sort of swollen. If you've been debating on whether to get eyelash extensions or not, DO IT, but go see Chelsea. Eyelashes are delicate and if you do not have the right technician they could end up ruining your lashes. At one point I let my extensions fall out, due to medical issues I was having, and guess what, I felt like my eyelashes looked healthier than they did before the extensions. That's when you know you found a keeper and a great technician. Chelsea is sweet and makes you feel comfortable, I always fall asleep while she is doing my lashes!
