First of all 99$ for 3 Brazilians!? That's unheard of and a amazing deal! Ive had issues with hair removal before and I was VERY nervous! Alina did my waxing and she was amazing. She talked me through the whole process and kept me laughing the entire time! She took her time with me, which I appreciate the most. Some hairs were a bit too short and she took the time to pluck them. My cooter has never looked so pretty! I can't vouch for anyone else though. There was a petite girl with curly hair, that gave me a few dirty looks when I first walked in. Thought that was kinda off, but WHOCARES, right? I go to get Brazilian waxes. This was my second one. My first visit was because I saw an extremely cheap Groupon. I wasn't sure if I was going to come back, because I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, even getting my brows waxed is hard for me. Carlin was easy going, friendly, talkative, but not in the annoying, shut up way. I was not so talkative because it was my first Brazilian, and I was working on my breathing mechanisms... But then they got me with the '3 waxes for $99' (if you don't buy this option, they are $45 or $50, I can't remember of the top of my head) today I had my second appointment with Carlin again, and she has made me a forever costumer of hers. She's super nice, makes me feel comfortable, she remembered me from my last appointment, she remembered conversations we had from the month prior. She has a friendly face. I really really like her. Not everyone can make you laugh when there is hot wax on your nether regions. Catelyn can; which is important when you are in such a compromising position. I want it to be a 3.5 but Yelp wont do that. Catelyn's Place has great deals for new customers and usually a package deal on Groupon. She uses a mix of hard and standard wax and clearly knows what she's doing. They also offer a variety of other spa treatments. For the price, nothing else comes close. read more

When you have that I-just-gotta-get-some-hair-ripped-out-of-sensitive-areas kinda feeling, and you can't spend a lot to do it, this is the place for you. I've been here about four times (once at her old location). Catelyn is awesome--the fastest, most thorough waxer I've had in Alaska. She's funny, efficient, and reliable. I can always get an appointment when I want one, and while it's never fun, per say, it's also not unbearable. She's got a super light touch, and I like that she uses different wax types. Her after lotion is good, too. I also like the cute, funky decor. It's bright and open. As for price, you can always buy the three-pack Brazilian special for only $90! A great deal. That said, I had to knock a star off because I had a wax there from Veronica that was extremely painful and prolonged (I believe this was her name--the pain may have knocked the name around in my head). Not painful in that "oh, I'm a little extra tender today because of my cycle" pain but painful because she had to go over areas a lot, was messy with the wax, and in general was not very soft or efficient. I could not get in with my typical stylist but was given an appointment for the same day with Tassani. I am from out of town and was leaving soon so I accepted the appointment. My friend and I have been coming here for about a year and a half and have given this place many chances, but I am never coming back again. Customer service is horrible and non-existent. They are constantly having specials and deals to get customers, probably because people do not want to keep coming back. Don't call if you need to reschedule because you are sick, for work, kids, or anything- they are not helpful. Find a different place. My friend also had similar experiences including horrible customer service, writing a letter to Catelyn the manager about the problem with no response at all...ever. read more

Very happy getting my Brazilian here. The place is very cute. You take your shoes off upon entering. I filled out a new client form and was taken right back to the waxing room. They have a towel to keep you covered and wipes to clean before you start. I really like that after they wax each area they put a cool cloth on you. It is such a good distraction. I had an appointment schedule at 2:00pm and I arrived at 1:50pm. Called to ask the process and was told that I would be getting a call to come in once my stylist was available. I waiting until 2:15pm and called again. This time I was told that because I didn't call at 2:00pm I was considered a no show and my appointment was cancelled. I talked to the same receptionist both times and was never told to call in at 2:00pm but that I would be called. She didn't seem apologetic on the phone as it was a mistake she made on her part. read more

It's great that I was able to get a last minute appointment for a wax, but I would have waited for better quality. Hannah rushed through my Brazilian (10-15 minutes). I don't mind if you do it quickly, but please do it right. I'm used to being asked what I want specifically. To me, that means more than "Are we taking it all?" I did want a strip, however, what remained is off-center, crooked, and far less than I would have left. Before I could interject, it was gone! She also didn't ask if everything was OK when she was finished. I wasn't offered to peek at what she'd done, and was simply told I could use extra oil on the counter if I was sticky as she was on her way out the door. This was a very rushed, rough and sloppy job that I wound up having to take a razor too anyway. There was a lot that was left that shouldn't have been, and what was left per my request is very messy. read more

I bought a puch card for Brazilian waxing here. The price is very reasonable which was great. I had my appointments with Kendall. She was very professional, and great conversationalist. She is probably the most efficient waxer I've ever been to. The one down side to that is she's not the most meticulous. After all three apointments I went home to find a patch of remaining hair. Something that they don't do here but is pretty standard at most of the places I've been to for waxing (and I've been to a lot) is giving you a mirror and steping out for a moment at the end so you can check for any missed spots to be taken care of before you leave. I was wildly disappointed/horrified with my experience here. The women who was waxing me was obviously band new and she didn't walk me through what she was doing at all. At one point she left the room and got another waxer to help her(she was so much better hence why I'm so confused how I got this horrendous girl) I was also mortified that she opened the door at all seeing as it opened right onto the open space where women were sitting in front of a mirror getting there hair done. I felt very exposed and uncomfortable. The girl also kept mentioning that it hurt because I hadn't been waxed in a long time(she said it about 12 times). One you should never make a client feel insecure when dealing with her lady business and two I have gone awhile with out a wax before and it was never excruciating like this was. I felt like I was being practiced on. I honestly almost got up and walked out but I had already paid and was covered in wax. I will also say that not only was it incredibly painful but she didn't remove all the hair and spent an hour of my time working on me. I will absolutely never come back her or recommend this place to anyone. I was also very uncomfortable with the fact that there was a bible verse on the wall next to me.. who does that? She was really quick, super nice and actually made it an enjoyable experience (as enjoyable as it can be when you have someone all up in your lady parts ripping hair out). They also have a PFD special, buy two waxing services, get the third free. So I signed up for a couple eye brow waxes as well. I paid everything up front, so anytime I need to go back, I can just drop in and not worry about payment (except for tip). I think it was a great deal for the amount that I spent today. I love that!
