All in all, we love our gem here in Ooltewah so if you're just passing through, or live further in the city, it'll be well worth your drive. Give the Local Goat a try!

Now, the place had more noise than a family reunion after someone mentions politics--two teenage softball teams carrying on, laughing, living large. Hard to fault that. Better than silence so thick you can hear your own regrets. Food showed up quick, which is about all you can ask when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. And it was good--honest good. Not "tell your mama about it" good, but solid, dependable, "yep, I'd order that again" good. Prices didn't make you feel like you'd just financed somebody's boat, either. Beer was cold--like it ought to be, like it better be--and the waitress understood to be there exactly when we needed her and vanishing when we didn't. That's an art form. Now the atmosphere... well, it had all the charm of a place that once had big decorating plans and then decided, "Eh, this'll do." A little on the bare side. Felt like a Friday night that never quite got dressed up. But I'll tell you this--I'd go back. And that, right there, is about the highest praise you can give a place without writing a love letter to the chef.

We arrived roughly 4:00pm no wait, immediately seated and greeted by our waitress. Ordered the BBQ burger with Mac N Cheese, wings, and street tacos. Honestly the food was great! I didn't hear a single complaint and it was all very filling except the wings. Not sure why the wings are so much and come with no sides. Kids ordered 6 wings and a side of fries ($10.99 + $4.99) when my specialty burger was $15.99 and came with a side. Just seems a little high for me. The food itself was great and the service was definitely better than average. Not sure if there might have been a better deal on the menu for wings but the waitress never mentioned anything. Other than that and the fries never being put in for one of the orders our experience was pleasing. We will return more than likely just will look at other options for the kids.

I was honestly pretty nervous about eating alone, but from the moment I walked in, the environment felt so comfortable and welcoming that it eased my anxiety quite a bit. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially my waitress, Sarah. She was so kind and made me feel completely comfortable, which meant a lot to me as someone eating alone for the first time. She truly made the whole experience that much better! And the food... WOW. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I absolutely chowed down The fries were perfect, and I loved the Cajun seasoning on them. The smash burger was delicious and cooked perfectly -- although it was definitely a little messy, so consider yourself warned haha. The mozzarella sticks had an AMAZING cheese pull, and the sauce was absolutely divine. And then there was dessert. Let's just say it was probably meant to feed two people... but I ate the entire thing by myself because it was THAT good. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better restaurant for my first night and my first solo dining experience. Great food, wonderful staff, and such a comfortable atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.

I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my "go to" when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn't so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here. Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.

For this particular visit, I planned to grab some pizzas as a thank you lunch treat for our veterinarian's office. Since I knew our morning was going to be busy, I attempted to order ahead online. The bonus was that if I ordered pick-up online, I was able to use a $3 off promo code. Unfortunately, it kept stating that there was an error in their system and to call the location to place the order instead. Thinking perhaps this was due to the order being placed online after hours, I decided to wait until the next day and try again. Morning came, and I waited until this location was open and attempted again to place a pickup order online (both with and without the promo code). No success. I hopped on the phone to call, and no one answered. Called again 25 minutes later, but still no one answered. Looked like I was just going to have to go in the morning of and place the order in person and pick-up then and there, and fingers crossed they may honor the $3 off online promo code. The morning of came, I waited until they were open, and I gave the phone call a try just one more time. No answer. So I headed on down. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a friendly young man, I believe his name was Tyler. I ordered and let him know that online was not working and if he'd honor the promo code since online and phone ordering was not successful. Unfortunately, he said he could not. I placed my order with him, and 20 minutes later, my pizzas were ready and looked and smelled amazing. While I was waiting, I noticed that Tyler looked to be the only one running this location. Also, a lot of construction workers came in and picked up a large order of pizzas as well. I take it this location is a "one man band" operation and is perhaps why the phones don't get answered. Nonetheless, Tyler was friendly, and this was perhaps one of the cleanest Little Ceasar's Pizza locations I have been to.
