Worst service ever! I honestly don't know how they're still in business. My cable is completely off, or has severe issues EVERY month! They do not communicate to their customers when or if cable will be restored. They don't answer their phones, tech support only deals with internet, and the answering service NEVER has any information whatsoever. They just take a message to pass on to DCI but they rarely get hold of you as they know customers are pissed off. Why the hell can't Cheney get Comcast?! I'm home 24-7 stuck inside the AC with NO entertainment or news! I'm disabled living on a fixed income but always manage to fork over $200 a month weeks before my bill is due. WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO WE HAVE?! EXASPERATED!!!!!! Going past another 48 hours with no cable, and certainly NO ANSWERS as to when it will be restored or what is being done to fix it! read more

The best in town company for streaming your shows!! They have been here since 1980 and have always been great with me!

I pay almost $100 a month just to have my internet go out multiple times a day for at least 20 minutes each time. When I called they simply told me it's on my end and they weren't seeing any internet outages. That's a blatant lie, my router is brand new and has never had any issues, i even factory reset it to make sure there was no problems on my end. Sattelite internet is a million times better than this and those ISP's are KNOWN for having outages due to inclement weather. read more

Worst option for an ISP in Cheney. CenturyLink is cheaper, faster, and vastly more reliable. If you work from home, attend school from home, or would just like reliable access to the internet then I wouldn't reccomend Davis Communications. I have the highest internet package which is 1gig down and 50 mbs up but I only get around 500 to 600 up

When we first joined this company I would have given them a 5star rating but lately it's been crap ever since they went from at&t to cricket the service dropped and is super slow they blamed it on covid. But it happened as soon as they switched. And I should have left them then because we had cricket internet thru another company and when they realized that we were using it and didn't have an actual cell phone cricket dropped us as quick as a fat kid drops veggies!! And now guess what no internet and cricket finally caught up with everyone as of 2-22-22 and dropped services for anyone who did not have their equipment. So do not buy this internet. read more

At one point they auto upgraded me to a better plan when one was available and it was even lower price too! I would recommend over Century link (only other one I've had in Cheney) any time. do not purchase anything from this company. initially paid for speeds up to 120 mbs. When we were only reaching a max of 30 mbs we contacted them. They came to our apartment and said the problem wasn't on their end but on then buildings' itself. We moved apartments and the problem persisted. Eventually we moved our plan down to just 60 mbs but we never reach above 30. Internet goes out constantly and their costumer service is rude and unhelpful. They aren't the best, but they're not the worst. Typically I have decent service and I get very close to the 50Mbps I'm paying for. Any time I've had trouble, I can call the office directly and talk to a human in the same city I live in. I can even go to their office if I want. Every interaction I've ever had with them has been pleasant. The biggest downside is they ridiculous pricing. I pay close to $100/mo, where as if I lived in Spokane I would be getting 10x that speed for 1/2 that price. They're really the only provider in town though, so they've justified their price as "well, you don't have a choice, do you?" Sure, you could go with Century-Stink, but then you can pay the same price for 1/10th the speed. Generally I have service, but periodically there will be weeks on end where I loose service several times a day. Usually it's only for a few minutes, sometimes it's longer. The times it's been for an hour or more and I've called in I usually get an explanation that they're upgrading hardware. I understand the need to upgrade hardware, but they should #1 let me KNOW they're going to do it, and #2 not do it at 11:00 in the morning, when everyone like me who's trying to work from home needs it most. Do it in the middle of the night, like the big boys do. I think the WORST part for me is that my house is in a dead zone, so I get very poor cell coverage. I have an LTE network extender that relies on my internet in order for me to make phone calls. If my internet goes down, I have to walk up the street just to call and see what's going on. If there was a better alternative I'd switch in a second. However, seeing as how they're the best option available where I am, they're the provider I've gone with. read more

DO NOT waste your money, there are more reliable and much cheaper alternatives. Customer service is the bi non existent, unless they didn't receive payment! Internet went down over 3 weeks ago, all voicemail mailboxes are full, no response for days with an explanation. When finally in contact, no responsibility was accepted, only excuses as to why there was no internet. They claimed that the updated sim card was in the mail and that it was sent out "yesterday". When it never arrived 10 days later, this was their response. . . "Someone at USPS must have needed it more, we will resend a new one". I'm now on my third year of Davis communications. I have to type this on my cell using data because yet again it is peak hours and I can't get enough bandwidth to do simple tasks...let alone watch Netflix with my wife and enjoy our Friday night. The good news is that I pay $50 for the luxury of supreme frustration as my internet routinely dies just as the plot to a great movie thickens. Does he kill the guy? Does he not? I have to wait until the middle of a work day to stream the rest. If the girl scouts came around and sold me internet I would take it. I'll take nearly anything over Davis communications. read more

I'm leaving this positive review because people usually only leave reviews to complain. Based on previous experiences with cox, Comcast, Qwest, CenturyTel/Link and Cheney Cable, Cheney wins. Why? You call and an actual local person picks up the phone who can help you. No hold times. The service is priced fairly without tack on fees. My 10mbps internet (they go up to 20) is quoted at $49.95 a month. That's the actual bill. No fees or taxes or anything. $49.95. Their installer was efficient, clean and polite and ON TIME. (gasp) Finally, the service has been very reliable. I'm a happy customer! read more

I apologize on the front side of this review that it will be negative. Davis Communcations had some kind of glitch in the last few days that is not allowing Hulu customers to log into their Hulu account. After spending nearly an hour on the phone with Hulu and going through multiple checks, DCI was identified as the culprit. The IP address that DCI is using or has issued to many customers is causing the problem. Hulu can't doing anything until DCI changes this. Three calls to DCI has resulted in very little information or help. DCI says they are unable to share what happened and what they are doing to correct this or when it might be corrected, if ever. To pay for DCI's service as well as Hulu's service is frustrating with no expectation of a resolution! I do appreciate DCI's small town attitude in working with customers, but my experience in the last few days has caused me to think of them as a broken machine rather than a small town company that cares about customers. read more

Look into other options. For kids and streaming it will be fine but if you are relying on stable internet for Zoom or remote working you will see interruptions at least 2 times per week but often will drop several times a day. Their front line tech support is a book keeper named Carol and they will always let you know that you are the problem despite being plugged directly into their modem. We have a neighborhood Facebook group and every time I see and outage there are other confirming comments on in the group but somehow according Davis aka DCI there is nothing wrong on their end. They really need new management and with all of the bad reviews out there they should start looking at themselves. read more

4 stars only because of the price. I'm not sure where the negative reviews for this company come from. I just recently switched over to Davis after enduring an absolutely horrendous two years of turtle Speed internet with Century link (20mb/s = 150kb/s). Our internet now is constantly at the speed we pay for (100 mb/s) and while the price is pretty high at $129.99/mo, it is everything that was promised. My roommate and I are avid gamers and no longer suffer the lag or ridiculous ping that we did before. Gone are the days of running the Ethernet cord across the apartment. We haven't had them for long, but so far, I have zero complaints about this company. I'll be sure to keep the follow up reviews real in the event that this changes. But if you live in medical lake, do not waste your time or money on century link. read more

Wish I could give these people less than 1 star. Literally the worst internet I've had in my life by a lot. If you can avoid them, do so.

My girlfriend and I have had Davis for about 8 months now, and the overall service has been alright. We currently pay for 100mbps internet speeds and nothing else, and it's around $150 a month, which is on the spendy side. I'm happy to say we typically get within 10mbps of the speeds we pay for, however the connectivity has been pretty unreliable. We typically experience 3+ disconnections every day for around 5 minutes, but up to about 30+ minutes on rare occasions (only happened twice, once for an hour). This has been a nightmare while working from home. However, the only other real ISP option around is Century Link which only offers up to 10mbps in our area, which isn't enough for what we need. I would jump at the chance to have a cheaper and more reliable provider, but we get what we get. We're definity looking forward to moving back into the Spokane city limits. read more

Absolutely horrendous service; sure, after upgrading to 50mbps you may get that only moments at a time. Also, some online programs can't be used because they block port 81 and I have the voicemail to prove it. You can call support 24/7, but they'll spend all of those 24 hours a day not sending anyone out to check their equipment. They have the most inconsistent signal I've ever experienced and I have tried more steps to solve this than any of their service reps can provide from their little checklist. Davis, if you read these, it would be awesome if you actually wanted to help your customers. I may change this rating when service is actually provided. read more

In agreement with the majority it seems. These problems with internet have persisted for a long time and anytime you call the service number they are always having an outage of some sort. Upgrading equipment made the connection worse than ever. Paying full price for hardly any service is ridiculous. Been receiving internet id pay maybe $10 a month for not this $70 a month for something completely unreliable and unusable most of the time for anything other than browsing websites even when you are home alone and there's not more than one device connected to the internet. We have lived in this town for over 20 years . There are not a lot of choices for internet and tv. Most pick satellite if they can afford the outrageous prices . That leaves college kids and folks like us who don't even think the tv channels and garbage on there is worth what they charge us . Terrible service . Receiving answering service most times you need them. Always same response " no one else is calling " and " someone will be calling back " and they never do. Terrible service frequent outages !
