After being with Spectrum for several years a better offer from another vendor came my way so I took it. I called Spectrum to cancel my service and had the most frustrating and disappointing time trying to cancel my service. Over the course of 3 days I spent close to 8 hours on the phone with various agents and their main objective was to retain me as a customer, NOT provide the service that I requested which was a simple disconnect. My internet has been consistently fast and stable, and customer service--while increasingly automated--is still easy to access. With a few clicks, you can reach a real person, and those agents have always been courteous and helpful. Recently, my connection became spotty: frequent Wi-Fi drops and frustrating buffering. Suspecting my aging router, I visited the local Spectrum office and was assisted by Jessica, who was outstanding. I ended up switching to a Spectrum router and signing up for Spectrum Mobile. When the issues persisted, Jessica promptly scheduled a technician. Jake arrived right on time and quickly diagnosed and repaired faulty cable connections. He was knowledgeable, communicative, and took time to discuss my home's layout and connectivity needs. Within an hour, everything was running smoothly. Many neighbors switched to fiber when it came to our area last year. I stayed with Spectrum--and I'm glad I did. From what I hear, some of those who switched now regret it. Technology isn't perfect, but customer service makes all the difference. Spectrum's pricing is competitive, but more importantly, its support is reliable and professional. I couldn't be more satisfied. This company has earned--and deserves--my loyalty. read more

I'm already paying $285.39 a month for cable with 1 DVR, 3 receivers, Wifi and landline, which I already thought seemed exorbitant. Feeling violated... Buyer beware! We have been with Spectrum for several years but I finally had it with the price going up, come to find out TDS is half the price and locks it in for life. When I called to cancel spectrum service they were willing to lower the price by half well why the heck did you keep raising it in the first place. I get it you are in the business to make $$ and I should have paid closer attention to my service but the real kicker is that they will not pro-rate the service and I still have to pay the full amount for something I am not using and that will be disconnected. My father died and we sold his house. The realtor told us the new owner would transfer all utilities, including the internet, which they did. Spectrum is now telling us that we have to pay for the old equipment because it wasn't returned. Spectrum told me that they don't reuse the equipment (that is about 5 years old) but that it's their property so I need to pay for it. Oh have I got a great review for you. This company is an absolute joke. After leaving TDS which is another terrible company. I decided to give spectrum a chance. I got their promotion which was cool, got my equipment and set it up. Didn't work because they failed to mention with the self installation that you still need to have a tech come out (like how would I automatically know that). Waited days for someone to come out, he got it installed and running, it work for a short amount of time before the router would just disconnect and stay that way. I reset it, and tried everything I could. I called and complained so they sent out another tech, who told me that the modem was bad and the internet barely worked on my PlayStation. Mind you I signed up for 1 gig. Plenty for gaming. The connection was so poor the game was unplayable. The tech replaced the modem and gets the internet going, I test out my PlayStation and I'm getting the same poor results. They tech tells me "it must be something wrong with the PlayStation" MIND YOU this is a ps5 and runs exceptionally well. Shortly after he leaves the router poops out and disconnected. I CALL AGAIN and complain and tell them to cancel my account, after practically begging me to stay the lady just sends out new equipment for me to try. So I wait for the new equipment and try it out. Terrible customer service and long wait time to speak with a supervisor, that was very rude. I would never recommend this company to no one. The cable service is very bad, it disconnect at anytime. Spectrum Cable and internet service sucks. In order to disconnect your service, they ask you multiple questions over and over again, like you are begging them to cancel out services. okay well the price we pay for WiFi for our place isn't bad. 75$ a month. But I guess that makes sense. for being the absolute worst WiFi provider I've ever dealt with. the WiFi goes out every 10 minutes and WILL NOT STAY ON. we've tried resetting the box many many times and calling costumer service but they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help basically just told us to power it back on and off again. We cancelled our service, but were still charged for the next month. I had returned the router and all. They will not get any more money, because they have been deleted from our autopay. Just wished I had done this before they got the next month with out service. As a general rule, they do not give you the best price, they just keep charging the same price and go up about 5-10 dollars per year. It is a wise practice to cancell when they raise your rates and find someone else. They will not offer the best deal unless you cancel, and go with someone else. We had the basic service from them. For the most part the staff are great at the store. I have been a spectrum customer for about 4 years. I have two mobile lines, full cable TV service and 1 gig internet. So I spend well over 200+ a month on service. The other day my wife's phones dies, won't charge, so go on line make an appointment for 10:00 o'clock the next morning get there at 9:50 in the parking lot check in online on my phone though the sms text. Doors open at 10:00 I go in with 3 other customers, I have already checked my reservation none of the other people even bother to check in they just go up to the counter an are helped while I set for 35 minutes an wait an my name is the only name on the reader board as a reservation waiting. That's just a bad system or poor customer service. Really need to rethink this whole service read more

This is an update to my previous reviews of Spectrum. I recommend reading my preceding two Spectrum reviews too. In February 2023, two Spectrum sales reps came to our front door and spoke with my wife. My wife explained that we had a terrible experience with their company and we weren't interested. They were persistent, so she said they could return to speak with me if they wanted. Next thing we know, Spectrum began calling to schedule an appointment to connect internet in our home. Annoyed, we told them that we weren't interested. A few days later, a modem was sent to our house. I called Spectrum and explained the situation. We described the two salesmen and they weren't surprised. We got the impression that those two Spectrum salesmen had signed up other people too, without consent. So then Spectrum asked us to take the modem to FedEx and send it back to their company in order to close our account - an account that we never opened!! Spectrum has been a continuous nuisance. If their salesmen come to your door, it's best not to talk with them. Beware of that company! read more

I've been with cable out here since it was Adelphia. Recently my wife and I decided to drop our TV service, but wanted to keep our internet. I was informed at that point that we did not have the high speed service that I thought we were paying for. After some haggling we were satisfied with what they offered. Here's the bad part. Since I had canceled TV service at the beginning of the cycle they shut it off, but are charging me for the service thru the cycle. AND they are charging me for the internet service AGAIN. When I tried to correct it, they told me it was a monthly subscription, and they would do nothing about it. AND I've gotten late notices saying the money is due now. I've always paid my bill ACH, so never missed a payment. It's a shame they have a monopoly here. I would avoid them at all costs. They are crooks. read more

Understandably I was kind of furious by the time finally someone surprisingly answered the call.- The only thing that was offered was, I could keep the internet connection but had to cancel my the phone land-line in order to remain at the old price of $59.99. Our service was ALWAYS down constantly had connection issues with it. My internet spent more time loading then working. I always knew when it rained that it meant no internet that was just part of the deal I guess they failed to mention. Half the time when there was an issue they cldnt tell me why or how to fix it. Just to "restart my modem". Believe it or not that wasn't always the issue. Going inside customer service was just short and rude as hell. Have been with Verizon for our phones for 15 years, decided to check out Spectrum's claim of UNLIMITED for $45/line. Did as much research as I could online and went to their retail store to see what additional "charges" or "conditions" would be added. Met with Stacy when we walked in. She was extremely knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and professional. Everything was as presented, no hidden fees, no games. Today I had the displeasure of dealing with Brooke at the customer service center in Coeur d' Alene, as we had to return our equipment. Brooke was rude, curt, and condescending. I don't normally write bad reviews as I prefer positivity rather than negativity but the customer service, or lack there of, was so bad I feel it is merited. There is no contract but they won't cancel service at the branch or take back equipment that doesn't work. Their installer couldn't make it work just the main page. I've been lied to, bullied by sales people, and harassed via email and phone ever since I cancelled my services with Spectrum. I was told I would not have a balance due when I cancelled, then got a surprise bill for another whole month! Then, a sales person by the name of Richard Heeke came to our door on a SUNDAY and signed us up for a promotional month and has equipment being sent to us after we REPEATEDLY told him No, we don't want it! Then, we called that same day and was told the shipment couldn't be stopped!?? That's ridiculous! Now, we have to wait for the equipment to arrive and have the hassle of returning it to avoid further charges. After all this, all you can do for me is reduce my bill to half, making me pay $37.50 after all this horrible treatment?? I will never go back to Spectrum, I will never recommend Spectrum to anyone, and I am going to let everyone know on Yelp, Google Reviews, and the BBB, and anywhere else I can that Spectrum does not care about their customers and will treat them like garbage. I will also be writing an editorial for the Spokesman Review and Coeur d'Alene Press about how I've been treated, I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one who's been swindled and harassed like this! The worst customer service I have ever encountered! I had a simple request for my Internet provider but after being on hold 1.5 hrs I decided to cancel. They did not try to stop my or apologize. After another hold after requesting to speak with a manager, I was told "none were available and to just drop your box off at the nearest store". Again, no apology or attempt to keep my service. Very slow internet connection. interruptions for facebook, not opening up or freezing. I tried to do a speed test and the function was delayed, then produced results for "download"=0 and for "upload"=11.8 I have had similar problems with Spectrum e-mail. I could not open attachments and slow deletions. The "help" option is not helpful. My topic problem and the responses did not match.Very long holds for phone for help that is not helpful. If you want your bill increased every few months go with Spectrum!!! You do not have a contract with Spectrum but they say nothing about increasing your rates. In one year I have had 3 increases - their excuse --- broadband surcharge of $20/month, utility tax of $7.95, always taxes!! Try and call to complain $5.00 charge to your bill - whoever heard of such a thing??? My bill has gone from $62 to $88. I chose Spectrum because I did not want a two year contract - would have been better off with one. And I had a terrible time in Yelp finding a way to complain. If I could give these clowns a negative number, I would. When I initially signed up, they were all nice and butt kissing and I believed the whole story, bait, line and sinker!!! After one year, my "exclusive" deal was over and up went my rates almost 25%! I called "customer service" and I asked what the heck was going on. No apologies, nothing BUT they did remind me that in another year my rates were going up AGAIN another 20% plus!! I recently talked to them again about reducing my "package" plan and after changing to the lowest cable deal and getting rid of the phone service (which I never used), my cost would've dropped $10.00 and change!!! Say what??!!! When I asked the "customer" service person who was a total robotic idiot if she got calls from people cancelling service all she said was she was taking many calls for new service!! Suckers!! Give them a year or so of price gouging and we'll see how they feel. Other than the satellite providers, Spectrum/Time Warner is the only game in town and they know it!! Service is awful and extremely over priced. Paying $60+ per month for a 20mb download and 2mb upload line. Other carriers in the region offer a faster line at a far less price (Comcast in Spokane). I can't do ANY online gaming at all. My ping spikes from 60 to 400 every 90 seconds and I end up lagging out of the servers. I have disconnected EVERYTHING else in my house and still get this issue. Their equipment is old. They do not offer dual band technology (the lady in the store had no idea what Dual Band even was) and their modems are at least two years old. Their built in Wifi doesn't cover my entire house, which is only 1100sq feet and they charge an extra $5 a month just to use it... Seriously??? I had to go spend $150 on my own modem and router just so my house was covered. Customer service is a joke. Nobody actually working in the store seems to know anything about broadband internet or modems and phone support doesn't talk to the local affiliate, so I was promised a piece of equipment by phone support that doesn't actually exist in my area (The dual band modem previously mentioned). So I drove all the way to the store to exchange my modem only for the lady to look at me funny when I said "dual band" and to tell me that the modem I brought in is the only modem they have... See my frustration yet? Time Warner is the ONLY high speed internet provider in my area (Post Falls) and they hold their customers hostage with their sky-high prices and their low end equipment coupled with awful customer service. read more
