They don't allow you to bring your own cake...even Abe and Louie's let you bring your own cake without any problems. Both times we felt their steaks were ok. I got the filet mignon and it wasn't flavorful (had to add alot of side sauces) or as tender. The restaurant's desserts are not that great either. Such an amazing addition to the mall! (Sorry, Joe's American Bar and Grill. You were okay.) The food was excellent and the service was top notch. The bolognese was a winner. I'm actually craving it now at 9am in the morning as I write this. The chicken panini wasn't anything out of the ordinary, so definitely skip that. Pro tip: save room for dessert! I made reservations for 1:30pm on a Saturday prior to Mother's Day. I thought it'd packed, but it turns out they weren't that busy. We probably didn't even need to make reservations. The food was good, but for some reason, our entrees took a very long time to come out. My parents even joked that the restaurant was going to a market to pick up the ingredients so that our dishes would come out fresh. We got our entrees slightly prior to 3pm. My mom and I ordered the spaghetti with clams and the pasta seemed slightly undercooked. The clams were tasty and fresh though. My boyfriend got the lobster roll which came with a side of fries. I took a bite and it was pretty good, no complaints. My dad ordered a medium-rare rib eye, and there was no flavor. Not sure if this was intentional because the servers walked around the table asking if we would like any pepper on our dishes. My brother ordered a pizza and he said he liked it. We also ordered dessert which was really good. I loved the idea of the dessert cart so people know what to expect. It was perfect for my parents, who don't speak English well. One thing to note is that the servers don't seem to notice the empty things on the table. For example, we asked for extra bread and when we finished one basket, they never took it off our table. We also didn't order any wine and they never took the empty wine glasses until I specifically asked to have them removed from our table. We ended up leaving the restaurant at around 4pm. Met some friends for a drink and apps at this newly opened location, and I was very impressed. Bar: This bar is just beautiful. It's huge, well stocked, and seating wraps around the whole bar area. Comfy, cushiony seats too, so that's a plus. Service: Our friend made a res, and first we thought to sit at the bar, but there were 5 of us and it would have been awkward for conversation, so we opted to sit a high top at the bar. Great choice suggested by the hostess, and we seated right away. Our waitress was awesome, too. Very attentive, and answered all of our questions re: drinks, dessert choices, etc. Drinks: Cocktails were lovely. I tried the harvest sangria, and I was in love. I normally hate cinnamon flavored spirits and/or cinnamon in my wine, but THIS changed that for me. Thank you for that. I sipped the Mule, and liked that...and also I tried the rosemary bourbon, which was also nice. Seriously, I'll come back here for more cocktails. The food, the piece de resistances: Food choices included kobe beef sliders, and spring rolls. Everything was very good, and was executed perfectly. Spring rolls were tasty - i ordered the shrimp cotija rolls, and they were like this Mexican/Asian fusionistic creation, and they were gooood. Good enough to be a small meal for me as I wasn't super hungry. Rest of the table enjoyed the spring roll sampler and kobe beef sliders. And the popovers were just lovely. You could walk next door to the Cheesecake Factory, get better quality, more consistent and far better value food. I've eaten at the Chestnut Hill location as well.... It tastes like pre-packaged food at 3x the price. Save your time and $, just go to Cap Grill in Chestnut Hill, or Mooo... on Beacon St. Better yet, Ocean Prime at the Seaport- or Abe & Louie's on Boylston. I've been a regular at Davio's now since it opened. I've never experienced anything less than perfectly prepared food and warm, attentive service. For a high end restaurant, you are greeted warmly by staff. You feel like you are walking into a local community restaurant. High quality without the pretentiousness that some high end restaurants have. I can recommend pretty much everything on the menu, from the appetizers to the pasta to the burgers to the pizza. Personally, I really like the liver appetizer. It's not gamey at all. The philly cheese spring rolls are always a hit. And I definitely recommend the dessert. Every dessert I've tried has been perfect, though I am partial to the almond cannoli. read more

Every time I come here I find myself thinking that it's over priced for what you get. That said the service is consistently good however the bartenders can be a bit chatty. They also charge for a bottle of water so be mindful of that. We had ordered 2 burgers, and nearly 35 minutes went by before the waiter checked on our entrées and only after I flagged him down and told him it's been a while. 45 minutes since ordering, finally g I t our food only redeeming quality was the burger was excellent. The only thing that is wrong with this Davio's... is the location. That said, it would be odd to have a restaurant of this caliber in Braintree. In fact, it'd be very much out of place. "Braintree" the Indian word for deserted and abandoned and out-dated office buildings. The plaza. Ugh. Stupid parking, and near the holidays - forget it! Really nice interior. Very nice staff. Ample seating tables, booths and bar. Very good service. Very nice selection of raw bar, and a menu a mile long. The braised short rib is WONDERFUL!!!! Creme Brûlée to die for. My fiancé and I went to Davio's for the first time last night. We sat at the bar. My fiancé order Atlantic Halibut, risotto and organic mushrooms. He said it was good. I tasted the mushrooms and risotto and they were good. I order Spaghettini for my entree and meatballs for my appetizer so I can put them together. The meatballs were tasteless and the spaghettini marinara sauce was from a can. I know because I grew up on can everything as a little girl, but as an adult I don't cook with can foods. Everything is fresh. Including fresh tomatoes. It was horrible, I can taste the tartness, bitterness and aluminum from the can. I woke up this morning still tasting the can tomato sauce in my mouth. I will never go there again! How disappointed! On top of that when we asked for the bill the waitress took awhile to come back with it and then she never came back to pick it up. So we put our jackets on to help her out and she still didn't come back actually when she did she said good night and was about to walk away. Service is amazing, and I loved our server. He was so upbeat (I forgot his name, sadly). The food was so good, like other Davio locations. I had come in for brunch but opted for the dinner menu. Ordered the Gnocchi and added shrimp to the dish. Dessert was lovely too (I always order the same dessert when at Davio's - guilty aa charged). Stellar service! Came here in Dec. 2019 for our company's Christmas luncheon. The food was fantastic (sooo good!) and the service to our table of 10 was absolutely flawless. A half-dozen staffers cleared the appetizer plates and placed our entrees so fluidly and efficiently it was like a well-choreographed dance silently taking place in the background, and reprised for the dessert course. Tonight, my adult daughter and I popped in for tea. Our server was instantly warm, fun, and attentive without being intrusive. She not only listed the tea offerings but described them as well, enabling us to make great selections that were soon delivered in 2-cup, loose-leaf pots with warmed cups, cubed sugar, milk, honey, and lemon--everything we could possibly need or want. That's literally how I order it at the one in Foxboro no issues. The popovers were burnt. There was hair in our spring roll appetizer. I haven't been to Davios since they only had two locations. Although it has a chain feel, it is anything but a chain. The service is impeccable and the food is to die for! My fiancé and I split a small raw bar tower. The presentation was perfect! And the variety of seafood was great. We both got filet mignon. Both cooked perfect. I got a Gorgonzola spread to pour on top. Mouth watering!! The brussel sprouts could have used some salt and pepper but were cooked well. The horseradish potatoes were great. Dessert was excellent too! Don't know why I waited so long to go back. I'll will be frequenting Davios in the future! read more

I told my coworker of this place, she recommended it 'cause she had it at Chestnut Hill and food was excellent according to her. We started with popover bread and butter, it was amazing, warm and fluffy. My drink was spiced watermelon cocktail, strong and smooth. For appetizer, we had raw bar with oysters, clams, crab meats, tuna, shrimps, it was fresh and tasty. My husband had flat iron steak, mashed potato and asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly, however, it was lack of flavor and kind of bland, we had to ask for a sauce to it. It was nothing unique or has any wow factor. You can have it better at any restaurants out there. Now to my entree, since it's an Italian restaurant, i wanted to try a pasta dish to see how good they make it, so I ordered spaghetti with clams, I was aware they have lemon sauce in it, the first couple bite was fine to me, but as I continued to eat a little bit more, the level of sour sauce at the bottom was too much to handle, I tried to add some salt hopefully to balance it out, but still no use, I even asked my husband to try as I was afraid it could be my taste bud, but he also agreed it's overwhelmed with the sourness. He asked me to order a different dish, normally I would quietly put it aside and order something else, of course I'd still pay for it. I've never made any complain before, but this time I felt it's not right, an Italian restaurant couldn't even make a proper pasta dish. I've dined at a few Italian restaurants, this was not how they made a pasta/spaghetti dish. So I decided to ask my waitress, I waved her down, saying the dish is too sour for me, and I politely asked if this is how my spaghetti dish supposed to be taste like, she asked if it's sour sweet, I said there's no hint of sweetness, but sour like lemon, that I tried to add some salt but still couldnt handle it, she stated that doesnt sound right. And she offered to make a different dish, since I didnt want to wait again for my food, so I refused, but I told her I'd pay for my dish, it's still half full left, but I had no intention to bring it home anyways. My waitress left and another lady came asking if she could take away my dish and if I want to talk to the manager, I answered yes, without waiting for me to finish my sentence, she grabbed the dish with an attitute and walked away so quick before I could even tell her that I dont need to talk to the manager. She must be thinking I complained to have a free meal or something. The manager came, I told him how I enjoyed the clams, but not the noodle with the sauce in it, it didnt taste right, he apologized and said he will bring out a different dish right away, and he will take it off the bill, I told him I will pay for everything, I didnt want him think I complained to have a free meal. He said dont worry about it, he's very accomodated. Now the pasta with shrimp dish came out, I took a bite, it had the same lemon sour sauce like the first dish, at this point, I felt like to get up to pay and leave this place right away, my husband had a taste and also thought it's the same sauce. I was disappointed and ready to leave, but I thought about their dessert carts rolling around, that kept me stay to try, I told my waitress how I felt of the second dish, but I didnt want to give anyone a hard time, or make them feel bad, so I told her to box it up, eventhough I wouldnt touch it later on. They brought out panna cotta that I wanted also a second dish with strawberries written happy anniversary on it, I thought it was nice of them. The dessert was fantastic. When it's time to pay, I insisted with my waitress that I will pay everything. But they didnt charge the spaghetti and the dessert. The service I rated them 5 stars, except the lady with an attitute. Food is 3 stars, it leaves alot to be desired. I really enjoyed the ambiance here, but not the food. If you want to feel fancy and dont really care about food, this is your place. But if you want to have a quality meal with a high price you pay, think again. This place is not my cup of tea, it's not worth the price. I will try the other 2 locations to see how it is. read more

Disappointing experience in Braintree 12/28. Three friends dining together. We ordered, the waiter had a comment about my request for medium telling me he has been there a long time and knows what medium is. Another diner ordered a steak that he then told her wasn't there, she pointed it out in the menu. When our steaks arrived the deliverer was confused and dropped them down. The waiter disappeared. In the meantime one of us got the wrong steak and couldn't find the waiter(who also never inquired about our meals or, did we need another drink- if he had we all could have eaten together instead of what happened. When we finally got his attention - after two of us had completed our meal - he argued with us about the steak being wrong! He insinuated that one of us ate the wrong steak! He was going to talk to the manager. The manager arrived, apologized and took the wrong steak away. We voiced our displeasure about the the waiter arguing with us. The correct steak arrived- again, long after two of us finished our meal. I would have thought the meal that was wrong would have been comped! Poor service and attitude. Celebrated my sons graduation there the other day. This place couldnt be more on point everything was amazing. We were 8 people and everyone was yumming at the table through out the entire meal. The steaks were tender, tasty and cooked perfectly and the pastas had the most beautiful tasting vibrant sauces. They are very accommodating if you want to alter the dish. We never had to ask for anything. Everything that we needed or requested upon ordering was all served at the right moment. Our server Rose was incredible. The ambiance was hectic at the get go. There was no line to check in and everyone was just standing around. We waited 35 minutes after our reservation. Then my husband and I were taken to our table by a blondie that was so rude in such a short amount of time. We have never been to a Davio's so we had some trouble interpreting the menu, it's a bit chaotic at first glance (taking off one star for the confusing menu). We started with a couple of drinks, were brought a basket of fresh popovers, and ordered dinner. The popovers were incredible. Light and flakey and warm. For dinner I got the spaghetti with clams and my fiancée got a few sides and an app (think customized dinner) that were both very good and ended with a molten lava cake that was DEVINE. I went to dinner at Davio's with a few friends tonight, and had a great meal along with one of the best service any party could ask for. Our waitress, Tamika, she was awesome. As soon as we sat down, she came right to us to ask us what we would like to start off with and then came with a basket of hot popovers. She had a few tables, but was always around to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. The drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts was amazing...
