My sisters and I ordered our bridesmaids dresses to this store for a wedding. The purchasing process was standard. Today we went back to try on the dresses and have them altered. My sisters dress was completely ripped at the zipper and had a food stain (textured) on the dress straight out of the packaging, ew! When we asked about it the ladies working said they could try to get the stain out but it might just be. My other sister's dress was pinned to be hemmed and when they asked for approval on the hem it was very short on one side and long on the other, the ladies tailoring gave us attitude but we asked them to make it correct 4x. It took much longer and was much more frustrating than anticipated. Adrienne at the front desk was very helpful and got us confirmation that the stain would be handled. I wish I could give zero stars and I might be back to leave another review. If you're looking for a dress and the basest level of humanity and customer service, go somewhere else. I paid 3000$ for my dream wedding dress and it has been nightmare upon nightmare. Shopping for the dress was a nightmare, the staff are inconsiderate, rude and annoyed at all times. You're never met with a friendly face... if you can even find one. I set up an appointment with a stylist and it turned into my mother looking for dresses for me and grabbing clips to clip my dress for me. I stood on a pedestal for 30 minutes in my dream dress being ignored. When I finally ordered it and was told of a pick up date my dress arrived in the store months earlier and I wasn't notified until 2 Months later with a call threatening to pick it up that day or they'd be returning it without a refund. I raced to get it. Next, the alterations... 500$ for a hem and bodice stitch. Was it done on time? No. Will it be? No, probably not. And I'm frustrated and sad and heartbroken and I'm met with hostility. I was called a liar. I was told "too bad"... I live an hour and 42 minutes away from the store... I drove to the store three days in a row, each time promised it would be done. If I was met with compassion, intelligible honesty and a clear and calm plan I'd be okay. Now? I'm stressed so bad I broke a tooth while grinding my teeth. This whole experience has been a nightmare. There's no one to speak to that offers any help or kind words. A manager? She was rude to my family, a regional manager? No clue, the manager refused to give me a name or number. I don't even want the dress now, I don't want this experience to taint my beautiful day. TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE. Go ANYWHERE ELSE for your special day. You deserve to be treated with respect on such an important and monumental occasion. I wish you all luck, ladies. Better than I had. If I had written this review a few weeks back when I ordered my (would have been) wedding dress I would have likely given 4 stars. That has dramatically changed. I order a dress which was supposed to be delivered on 3/20/2022. I had tried the dress on in person and ordered over the phone the following morning to ensure my bridal consultant would receive commission. I was told there was no tracking number, no confirmation email - nothing. The dress would arrive on the 20th and the store would call me to pick it up. The 20th came and went - no call. Today - 3/22/2022 - I called to check in and was I formed that the dress style was discontinued, the my order had been canceled unbeknownst to me, and that there would be no ability to get the dress going forward. I asked if there might be a floor sample that I could purchase at a discount given the circumstances. While that option was afforded to me the associate outline the damage of the floor model and offered a whopping $35 discount. $35 dollars off a sample dress with a dirty train and arm stains after covertly cancelling my order. The cleaning alone would cost more than that if it were even possible to remove the wear and tear of a floor sample. TLDR: - No tracking will be provided - Poor communication - No accommodation or accountability for their errors (which in this case cost me my dress). read more

I came into the store overwhelmed by the sheer size of the store and the task ahead of me. I am the mother of the groom and the wedding is in a month. I did not have an appointment and after a few minutes Reagan found me and asked if I needed help or if I wanted to try anything on. I needed both. She stuck with me for the next hour and more as I tried on different dresses in different sizes, found me shoes to show how the dresses hung properly and finished zipping up the zippers I could not reach. Poor attitude, customer service and selection- go anywhere else. My girlfriend and I popped in on a whim on a Thursday afternoon (2ish), no one was in the parking lot so we thought it would be a quick peruse and try on sesh for wedding gowns. We both knew we needed to check in once we walked in the door but the host was on the phone and didn't make eye contact so we started looking around the "bridal gallery" ourselves. A few minutes in we were approached by an irritable host asking "did you check in yet?!" Honestly there was no one else in the store and she was the host on the phone so of course we didn't check in yet, she of all people would know that. We were told a consultant would be right with us to help. Fast forward 10 minutes later waiting in front of the changing rooms, we were finally approached by the consultant. She took measurements and our list of dresses we wanted to try. I will say this is where the sesh gets weird, the consultant never conveyed what she was doing, using your words is something I assumed every child was taught as they grew up. I think she expected us to read her mind? She walked away from us a number of times without saying anything, leaving us both confused with what she doing. After some confusion we finally got into the dressing room with some of the dresses she picked. Again, she walked away without saying anything. Instead of being irritated we decided to just have fun and let it go, at this point what were we supposed to do? She appeared again after we both were able to try on 2 dresses. She had slips and bustiers for each of us to try on under the gowns. At this point we already tried 2 on and honestly the slips and bustiers looked old and discolored (they were white or rather off white from what looked to be wear and tear), not something I'd want to put on. We let the consultant know we didn't need them or want the undergarments, we received some salty comments for saying 'no thank you.' Since our plan was to have a little fun and kill some time we weren't that frustrated as we left the store. Had this been a more serious time I would have been livid, disappointed and frustrated with the customer service. To touch on the rest of the store the carpets are old and dingy, so much so you can tell where foot traffic flows, the lighting is bright yellow fluorescents that didn't seem to flatter at all when trying on gowns, the dressing room section of the store is all mirrors which made finding your dressing room, podiums with mirrors, and even the bathroom in the back difficult, and lastly the dressing rooms are smaller than a Walmart bathroom stall without any mirrors on the inside, making gowns with poof difficult to get on and forcing you to emerge into the public eye in something potentially hideous because you need to find a mirror. Will NOT be back to this store to be treated like a child. read more

I made a bridal appointment to find a last minute wedding dress. Courtney was my stylist and helped me find dresses in my style, she helped me try on each one buttoning me up, clipping me in, and pairing the perfect vail for each. She fluffed every dresses and took photos to send to my friends and family. She asked what I liked and didn't like about every dress and listened well coming back with better selections. She made it a magical and unforgettable time. I was so scared going in about the pressure of finding the perfect dress, but her bright spirit kept the energy uplifting and fun! When I went to grab a chair because they did not have enough for the party I was scolded by another consultant. I had an horrible experience. I made an appointment to have a hour long with a stylist. When I arrive I was pointed to the bridesmaid dress and was told my stylist would be right with me. However the stylist happen to be near me when the host told her client was there. The stylist proceeded to roll her eyes and look disgusted. I was standing there when she saw I was standing right there she seemed more annoyed. I should her my dress that I was getting they didn't have it she and brought me a bunch of sizes and was shouting my dress size across the entire store. She was also working with three other people and barley gave me the time of day. She brought dresses that were nothing like I was supposed to be getting and so many random sizes. She brought one dress and said she would be back to clip it since it was extremely huge on me and never came back. After all of this and me crying in the store I had the dress shipped to my apartment by June 21st. So I would never have to go to this store again It's now the 25th after I called to find out where is. I was put on hold and hung up on, and told I would be called back. Never happened. This was an absolutely awful experience. Something went wrong at every step of the way. I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding and we all got dresses (different colors) from this location. The first wrong turn came with the colors. David's incorrectly tracked the colors and I ended up with the wrong color. I called to see if we could swap. They asked me to return my other one and assured me that they ordered TWO dresses in the right color to ensure it came in time. When I returned the dress, I spoke to a manager (whose name I forget), who assured me a dress was ordered. A week and a half later (and two weeks before the wedding), I call because I haven't heard that the new order was in. I was told that NO NEW DRESSES WERE ORDERED. They only thing on the account was my return. Emma, the manager I spoke with (twice), said she would order me a new one, but the following day was her day off so it would have to wait until her next shift, which is also a little crazy. She did come through and the dress was in a couple days later and I had an immediate alterations appointment as we were now a week and a half away from the wedding date. The weekend before I was supposed to pick up my dress from alterations, I get a call from the store and the associate said, 'We're calling to let you know we noticed you haven't picked up your dress and the wedding is in a few days.' I assured her that I did pick up the dress and had an alterations appointment. She said. 'Oh. I'll look into that and get back to you.' She hung up and I never heard back. I came to pick-up my dress at my appointment time to find out that they HADN'T EVEN STARTED ALTERATIONS due to a snow closure the day before...so apparently alterations aren't done until the day before the pick-up when they kept the dress for over a week. All of this TWO DAYS before the wedding. Not to mention, one of the other bridesmaids received the completely incorrect dress in the mail, along with the correct one. So, someone out there didn't get their dress in time either. It was the most stressful situation and I received no apologies along the way. I do not recommend them to anyone ever. read more

I went to David's Bridal yesterday with all of the girls of my wedding party, we got there and already knew what we wanted, so the consultant, who's name I can't remember off the top of my head, went right to the rack and pulled them off in my girls sizes. It was a fantastic experience! We were all so happy with our choices when we left! And my flower girls even had a good time! I felt bad because the appointment was supposed to be and hour and we were there longer than that and didn't even realize it! Luckily there wasn't anymore appointments at that time! I shopped here in June for my wedding dress and had a good experience. But this past weekend stopped in, with an appointment, for two of my bridesmaids. Each tried on several dresses and then selected 2-3 that were supposed to be written down and emailed to them, in addition to their measurements, after the appointment. We waited a few days and nothing. I called and was told that they would send an email with the styles by the end of the day, but no email came. Today I called and after waiting on hold was put on the phone with the manager who proceeded to email me a link to my wedding dress. I stated that I was looking for my bridesmaid's dress numbers and she told me that they were not on file and proceeded to give me the style number for my wedding dress, once again. I went with my friend, who was the bride. I was very underwhelmed. We had to wait for almost a half hour for our stylist. I felt like our stylist didn't look too put together himself and I didn't think he had a good sense for pulling dresses based on what my friend pointed out. Our other friend was the one who really got things going. The space itself is harsh and uninviting. I guess that goes hand in hand with the brand, but it's still off-putting. Their selection of bridesmaids dresses is pretty terrible, too. All in all, this process made me glad I ordered my dress (nontraditional, though) from Zappos rather than deal with an experience like this (and my bridesmaids picked their own dresses within a color scheme, from wherever they wanted). Just when I thought this place couldn't get any worse... A while ago I went dress shopping with a friend and her family. My friend told the consultant what she wanted (I believe her name was Yvonne, I don't remember) and I swear, every single dress that she brought was EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what my friend said she wanted. In fact, I think she listed what she did NOT want, and the consultant brought back exactly that. At one point, I asked my friends dad "Is she f-cking joking?" Sadly, she was not joking. But I kept looking for cameras, because I thought perhaps we were being recorded to see our reactions to this awfulness. My friend unsurprisingly handled this incredibly well, but I know that her parents, grandmothers and I were all very frustrated with this lady. I really don't like David's Bridals. Between the mess, the weird policy of needed an appointment just to look at non-wedding dresses, and this miserable experience, I really would hate to have to return here. read more

I have never been so disappointed in a shopping experience in my life. Since my sister got her dress at David's Bridal 10 years ago, I thought I would give it a try, despite the horrible reviews. HUGE MISTAKE!! When we walked in, no one knew who my appointment was with, even though I had booked the appointment a month in advance. They had no where for my grandmother who was using a walker to sit! When I finally asked to be seated somewhere I was put in the smallest and most crowded corner, surrounded by girls picking out their prom dresses. Not only was the dressing room dirty and the seats uncomfortable, but to top it all off my "consultant" had NO IDEA where dresses were or what the dresses I liked where. When she finally dropped of some dresses, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to help me into the dress. She just walked over, annoyed and said "Why the heck have you not tried anything on?" I apologized and said that I was under the impression that she would help me. She replied "Just have your mom put you in the dresses." AND THEN SHE WALKED AWAY! I felt so unappreciated. To make matters worse, when we did try on dresses I got to walk out to a ton of people (girls shopping for prom dresses, parents and other people shopping) who all gave their opinions of me in the dress. I saw the 'consultant' maybe 3 times the entire appointment and got no help. She would come back with the wrong dress and often with nothing asking me to remind her what style I wanted. I was so embarrassed that we left the appointment 45 minutes early. I didn't feel special or pretty. I felt like I was shopping for something cheap from Walmart. The staff was dismissive and rude, the location was dirty, the dresses were cheap and the service was non-existent. I will NEVER return to another David's Bridal for any reason. And just a note for all 'Consultants': Don't ever tell a bride that she is Huskey, Large, Plain or that she likes a more "boring style". read more

I just didn't feel special in it and the experience was lacking. They brought me over to a standing mirror to look at myself and I just felt plain and like I was buying a dress for prom instead of my wedding. I'm not a complainer, I don't write reviews, I've worked in customer service too long to expect perfection from anywhere. But I made the mistake of not listening to others when they told me not to go here and I don't want other brides to make that mistake too. David's Bridal is in the business of selling dresses and they're very good at it. The sales girls are sweet and lovely, but they're either very ignorant to the alteration process or are lying to brides. They seem to prey on your lack of wedding dress knowledge. Anything that you worry about, they will tell you is a simple fix so that you'll buy the dress. That "simple fix" will then be messed up at least twice, cost hundreds of dollars more than you thought it could, and waste so much of your time. I mentioned how I was concerned about a strapless dress. My simple fix was adding the premade straps they had there that the sales girl showed me. When alterations came around those premade straps suddenly didn't exist and the only way I could have straps was if I purchased an overpriced blusher and had them make 80s style puff sleeves. At least according to alterations. I trusted the sales girl when she told me that a size 10 would work best for my hips, but I said I'd rather size down since most of my measurements are much smaller. I thought this is what we agreed on. Somehow I got a size 12!! When I asked to make an appointment with alterations to see if this size 12 could be taken in enough I was told that they couldn't make appointments with them until 2 months prior to the wedding. I asked the sales girl at pickup if I could just exchange my dress for the size 8. I had put the size 8 sample on and she even agreed it fit me perfectly on the hips and would just need alterations to take the top in. I also looked at the designer's sizing chart and I fell right in the 8's range. Unfortunately when she looked she said it couldn't be ordered since the dress was no longer being made. The sample was torn or else I may have taken that, even though it was bright white instead of ivory. After trying to make my size 12 go to a size 4 top with a size 8 bottom, my beautiful mermaid dress looked like a lumpy potato sack. The tulle on the bottom was also literally falling apart when I took it out the bag. I was told I couldn't have the sleeves I wanted. It somehow was too short when I was barefoot, let alone my flats. And my favorite part is that after I was promised that they would keep my materials from my dress, I was told they didn't do that. I've paid too much money for a dress that I won't be wearing. With only a month before the wedding. Luckily I found an amazing bridal shop that actually cares about brides and am working with them to quickly order and alter my new beautiful dress. All in all I've learned some things: Don't go to chain stores and expect to be treated like an individual. And read all the fine print, don't trust them to do their job with your best interest in mind. They are a corporation whose only goal is a sale, not a happy and comfortable bride. read more

Had a wedding dress appointment and my consultant, Mili was awesome! She tried on sooo many dresses with me and got me whatever I wanted to see it with (straps, veil, etc). She had a positive attitude and helped me find some dresses I really did like, and wouldn't have tried on without her recommendation. Colleen was also very helpful too the last time I went to DB without an appointment- she was clearly busy but still took the time to help me try on some dresses and give me her time. I have been to this store many times and have had good experiences but today it was AWFUL. We had gone in to try on Bridesmaids dresses (I am the Maid of Honor and I was there with the Bride and one Bridesmaid). We had a 2PM appointment that was supposed to last an hour. To clarify, the consultant we had was the issue. Upon walking in we were assisted by Emma at the front desk who was extremely pleasant and helpful. We were then paired with Yvonne. She was pleasant during the initial introduction and then walked us back to the dressing rooms. She handed the Bride a clipboard and told her we all needed to fill it out and walked away (at this point she was aware who was a Bride and a Bridesmaid and that the Bride would not be trying on dresses). She then proceeded to walk away. We all filled out our names, titles and phone number/email and waited a few minutes for her to come back from helping another client. She came back and proceeded to scold the Bride for writing her information if she would not be trying on dresses today. She did not explain that the Bride did not need to write her information AND she handed the clipboard TO THE BRIDE. After that, she pointed across the store and said "the Bridesmaid dresses are over there, you'll see them. Pick four each." I have been here multiple times over the years for my own prom and my cousins prom and have always been walked over to the dresses. On top of this they typically give tips and pin the dresses where they don't fit when trying them on. We each tried on different styles since this was our first time trying dress on and were just looking to get a general idea as to what looked nice. We each found four dresses each, a total of eight styles. We then walked over to the dressing rooms and stood there holding our dresses as we didn't know what room to use and Yvonne was nowhere in sight. Finally she was walking PAST us and the other Bridesmaid said something to her to get her attention in which she replied with "be right back." She wasn't "right back." So we each went into a dressing room and started trying on dresses because at this point, it was a waste of time waiting for her. We tried on one dress each before she came back over to yell at us for using two rooms instead of one. She NEVER told us how many rooms we had or even what room was ours. Maybe if she had helped us in the beginning we would have been aware. At this point we were all frustrated. The other Bridesmaid and I squeezed into the room together with our dresses (not THAT big of a deal but it was a small space). We tried on the rest of the dresses and found three styles we liked. Two of the ones she had tried, and one of the ones I tried. We had planned to be able to grab more dresses to try, and also be able to try on the "winners" that the other had (so she could try the "winner" I had initially tried and I could try the two she had). Everyone else was going back to the racks to grab different dresses and try on more things. She finally came over to see how everything went. At this point we hadn't seen her at all to help us/give tips during the fittings. We did it all ourselves. She wrote down the information from the few we liked and proceeded to tell the Bride that she would need to buy them quickly if she liked them because they will be discontinued. Then she handed her the business card and sent us on our way. It was 2:30PM when we got into the car. A half an hour from the start of our appointment. We were supposed to have another half hour to try things on. We may go back at some point but we will be requesting NOT to be paired with Yvonne. She was not helpful at all. Again, the store itself was not bad which is why this review is getting two stars. If I could give Yvonne zero stars I would. read more

My maid of honor and mother showed up before I did and they gave them instant attitude upon walking in the door. They were early, the appt was for 11 and arrived at 10:30 to meet my bridesmaids and get aquatinted. Only to be rudely greeted by Mary (Who had a shit attitude the moment anyone walked in). I certainly don't work this industry but this is supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, only to be immediately ruined by her. Once I arrived, Mary checked me in, in a VERY unfriendly & disrespectful manner insulting my maid of honor for showing up a few minutes early to me which was within ear shot of my maid of honor. I have to tell you about my wonderful experience at Davids today. I also have to tell you that I was not always a fan. I had prior experiences with consultants with poor attitudes. However, today I was more than impressed. My consultant was Stephanie and she was tremendous. Why? First of all, she was patient. Second of all and most importantly, she was genuine. She was sensitive to what I told her I was looking for and helped me find it. Her demeanor of patience and helpful critique was A+. I also want to comment about the quality of my experience with the manager of this store. When I told her about my positive experience she thanked me for the feedback and explained that feedback is so helpful as they work to constantly evaluate and improve their service. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The WORST David's Bridal I have ever been in. I've shopped at over 20 of these stores in my lifetime and this was, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had. No one cares to help you when you are in the store. They stand around and talk to each other. You would be lucky if you asked an employee for help and weren't met with dirty looks and laughter. I ordered my dress in the store. I had to call THEM two weeks after I had purchased my dress to find out that they issued the order to my family member, and needed to cancel/ redo the order. I understand mistakes happen, but why do I have to call YOU to find out the order was wrong? Today, I received a call saying that I need to pick up my dress by Sunday, otherwise it would be shipped back and I would have to pay an extra fee for shipment from the factory to my house. When I called, the first employee I spoke to let me know that it is policy for a dressed to be picked up within 7 days of notification, or it will be sent back. HOWEVER, I received no notification. No email, no phone call. THEN, she transferred me to her manager who was equally as unhelpful. The manager informed me that "Corporate sends emails, but sometimes it gets lost in the junk folder." To which I replied, it is not there either, and I have not received any phone calls. She then said, "you're going to have to talk to our customer service department to see if they can hold the dress for you". The THIRD person I was connected to said, "We tell customers to check in their junk folder if they don't see the email". Which translates to: After we already fuck customers over and send their dress back (causing them to pay us MORE money), we call them and tell them that the notification email might be in their spam folder. I then asked her if she had some kind of documentation that says when the notification email was sent to me. She said, "no, I do not". Great. I now have to travel 3 hours to Albany to pick up my dress in the middle of the work week. Considering the circumstances, I am more than happy to write this long review and hope that all potential customers seriously reconsider giving this place any business. read more

Michelle DeSalvatore was the best sales person! She picked mother of the bride dresses that were body type and age appropriate, she picked shoes! She gave us a consultation far exceeding anything we thought we would get! My sister even bought an 'extra' dress! My experience at the Albany New York , Central Avenue location was horrible and very disheartening.I want to make sure that this never happens to another bride on what is supposed to be a special and joyous occasion. I entered this store on June 18th with one of my bridesmaids hoping to find a last minute dress for my July 4th wedding. Due to COVID my initial wedding plans took a detour and not only did she need a dress but I did also. We searched for a champagne colored dress on our own for several minutes before an employee asked to assist us. We told her what we were looking for and the deadline however she was unhelpful and did not offer to gather dresses in alternative sizes as needed. When we asked about alternatives she answered several times that she was unsure and did not attempt to address our questions and directed us to try another location. While she assisted us another employee Sarah offered her a walk in and she accepted and departed from assisting us in the dressing room moments later. We took this as a sign that the young lady did not want to help us so we began searching on our own. When the employee saw us in the bridal section she then approached us over 10 minutes later and we told her that we were fine browsing on our own. Moments later we were approached by another employee who's name tag said Sarah and the Situation went from bad to worse. Sarah informed us that we were unable to search the bridal section by ourselves. We explain to her the situation and why we were searching by ourselves elaborating that the young lady that was helping us had departed without saying anything to us and appeared uninterested in helping us. Sarah then went on to say that the young lady had an appointment and that no one in the store was available to help us and that we had to leave. We told her that we had called the day prior and that we were told that we could come and browse through the store without an appointment. She then used the excuse that we had already tried on two dresses and that that was the limit. I told her that I overheard her offer the initial young lady that was assisting us a walk in and that neither of us had an appointment. She looked at me disoriented and said well that was prior to Covid now you cannot search the store alone and you have to leave because no one here has availability to help assist you. Both me and my friend were very upset and offended. I could not believe that we were being profiled and asked to leave your store. I actually would think that we would be a priority because not only did we both need dresses we needed them immediately and we're both willing to pay a substanstial amount for the merchandise, rush order , alterations etc due to the urgency. During our dialogue with Sarah my friend asked to record what the young lady was saying because not only did it not make any sense but it was different from the prior information that she received. The young lady began to raise her voice and say that we did not have the right to record her. My friend said that's fine we will be leaving the store and I will be back tomorrow. I stated that I would not be back due to the way that we were treated and we began to leave the store. When we got to the door another young lady approached us and attempted to de-escalate the situation. She was the only young lady of color in the entire store and we believe that she was sent over to deescalate due to this. She was very helpful and apologetic and tried to assist us to the best of her ability. She told us that she was scheduled to leave in the next hour and would do the best that she could and that another lady would be able to assist us once she was able to leave. We were both able to find dresses with her assistance. Not only did we both purchase dresses but we also both purchased undergarments and Shoes spending a substantial amount at this store. I believe that we were profiled due to being two black women who appeared underdressed. It took less than 45 minutes for us to both find dresses with the proper assistance. And during this process two to three employees assisted us leaving me even more confused at why we were told that no one else was available to assist us initially. I waited until after my alterations were made to address this matter to avoid backlash and potential issues with my dress due to the urgency. read more

I for one had a wonderful experience here! My assistant Dana made it a very wonderful experience. When I walked through the door it was the beginning of my wedding dress search, when I walked out the door a few hours later, I was basically all ready to get married! I had found my dress after Dana made numerous trips to find dresses for me and helping me with my fittings! I had my shoes, veil, and accessories! Dana made the whole experience fun and her wonderful personality made her easy to talk to and likeable from the start!! I would highly recommend her to anyone! read more
