I got my daughters communion dress from them and #1. ordered it 2.5 months in advance and it barely came in a week before her communion after I continuously called to check, finding out it came from England!!! #2. when it came in I realized it wasn't even the dress I ordered but luckily my daughter didn't notice and loved it. #3. I had to ask the owner to steam it before I left. Horrible experience. 3.5 stars. This was my 3rd and final dress appointment. I wasn't sure what kind of experience I would have based on the reviews. The store looks large from the outside. You walk in and it's full of dresses - bridal gowns, MOB and bridesmaid options. It's not a particularly clean looking bridal shop, but it was pretty busy. There was a man at the front desk who I presume was the owner of the shop who let me know Shayla would be helping me out. She took me over to a boiler room style fitting room area FULL of people which made me nervous that it wasn't a private experience like I had at previous boutiques. Shayla handed me an iPad and told me to browse the dresses and favorite the ones I wanted to try on. I found this odd and honestly I was a little annoyed since my previous 2 appointments dresses were pulled for me based on my body type and style I was aiming for. I hearted about 14 dresses and waited while she helped another bride. There was a lot of her there and then off to do something else. It was not a personalized experience as I was expecting, but she was able to pull the dresses I selected and get me to the back room which was a bit more private. My mom had to help me in and out of the stack of dresses on the wall whenever Shayla left to help another bride. I will say that based on the other 2 locations I visited, it seems as though the girls here aren't quite sure how to make a bride feel special - it was a lot of "what do you like and dislike about this dress" without the love and compassion that goes into a personalized boutique appointment. I'm assuming that's to help them narrow down my options, but it just felt so generic. Shayla had personality and opened up after a little while of working with me. She said we made her have fun which was nice because trying on wedding gowns is stressful, especially in that particular environment. It was kind of odd because she didn't stick around even when I was the last one in the store. She kept leaving to clean up and organize things. I'm not sure if she felt like she was giving me space, or if the boss makes the employees be *constantly* busy. If the latter, I feel bad for her because that may end up costing them sales in the long run. I really wish her focus could have been 100% on me though. I think that would have made me feel more confident in purchasing here. The pricing at Jocelynn's was lower than I expected to find so that was a nice surprise. They also had a wonderful selection of beaded belts, head pieces and jewelry. I didn't see if they had shoes, but the selection of most things bridal was fantastic. They also have an onsite seamstress which is a huge selling point. We also were able to have my mom try on a handful of Mother of the Bride dresses (she actually tried on bridesmaid dresses as those were cuter) after my appointment. The owner and Shayla were kind and helpful so I'm glad I didn't encounter anything like some of the negative reviews in here state, but it just didn't make me feel bridal. I wish the shop it self was brighter and that they had fewer appointments because it felt very overwhelming with all the other people also trying on dresses. Overall, I think the selection here is pretty solid and maybe just speak up if you want a more private personalized experience. I was so overwhelmed that maybe had I asked I would have received. My sister recently went to Jocelynn's Bridal to do her first round of shopping for her wedding dress. She had seen a dress online that she liked, and Jocelynn's was one of the only local retailers to carry it. She ended up trying on the dress and a few others and ended up quickly deciding on her dress. It was very exciting. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with helping her select the dresses, and they were not pushy about her buying anything. The checkout process was seamless, and who I assume is the owner of the store was very thorough about the measuring/payment process. We are definitely thinking of returning back to look at tuxes for the groom/groomsmen and fathers, and for my mother and mother of the groom. This was an exciting day in her wedding planning process, and Jocelynn's did a great job with making it a successful day! read more

I don't know how I got so lucky to end up here for my first dress fitting but I'm so thankful. Everyone at Jocelynn's bridal is fabulous! I came here from 5 hours away for each fitting and it was so worth it! They truly remember their customers and make you feel so welcome and at home, they offer advice when asked and are so detail oriented and professional. Jocelynn's gets an A+ from me. Jocelynn's whole team was so supportive and helpful when I was looking for my wedding dress and did everything to make it a positive experience. It is not easy to find a wedding dress when you have to try them on 10 sizes too big but they made sure to snatch me in well to get the best idea possible which helped lead me to find the one! I also had specific details I wanted to change on the dress such as, switching the original design from a sweetheart neckline to being straight across as well as adding length to the sleeves with lace to cover a little bit of my hand. The seamstress nailed it and again was very supportive and receptive to all my ideas and never made me feel I was asking too much. Didn't feel welcome due to my size, was informed I couldn't try on anything except for over a size 18. I had a dress out I wanted to order in a larger size, but was ignored. The girl didn't help at all, really made me feel bad about my post cancer body due to the fact I wanted longer sleeves. Terrible. Horrible service. "Consultant" kept trying to push dresses that she liked & not what I was interested in. She kept walking away from me while I was getting in my dress to look at the other brides. Was left 3 times holding my dress up. Only tried on 4 dresses in a hour & only because my sister helped me. Ended up just leaving because they were absolutely no help & unprofessional. The facility itself was a mess & everything & everyone was disorganized. They didn't even have chairs for my small wedding party to sit in, even though we had an appointment. They completely overbooked themselves. A huge disappointment!!! Do not recommend. If you don't have an appointment (which is not required here) they act as though you're a burden to their store and completely ignore you... even when the store is completely empty. If I could give a negative rating I would, this place is awful. When you go to order from professionals you expect them to know their stuff and if they make an error to fix it. This place ruined my cousins wedding experience by ordering him the wrong tux color and size. When confronted about the issue, they said that my cousin could pay for the overnighted black tux that he assumed he was getting all along. He paid $500 for black tux's and they came in grey. He was clear on what he wanted. No professional business I know would then turn around and make you pay for their mistake. After many months of trying on every wedding dress in upstate NY (jk but it felt that way!), I happily bought my dress from Jocelynn's bridal, and SO very glad I did! They had the best selection and very fair prices. Over my many visits, I worked with their pleasant staff, but most often worked with Evon. They were very accommodating, always helpful and boy were they quick! My alterations were done about 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding. Unfortunately, I lost more weight and needed last minute alterations. They completed my last minute alterations within 24hours! All my alterations were done perfectly, and my dress was beautiful. Asked 3 times for just a quote to alter my wedding dress, the worker did a fitting instead and then became irate when I said again I just wanted an estimate. When I finally got the quote it was $400 for a hem, two darts and a bustle. $400 is what I paid for the dress! I went to Hong Kong Custom Tailors later that day and was quoted $150 for the same amount of work. If this review saves one person a wasted trip than it was worth writting, do NOT go here for alterations, they are so over-priced and unprofessional, avoid this shop!! read more

Came here today and ended up finding my dream wedding dress after searching for awhile!!! This was my fourth store. I had gotten my prom dress here way back when so I thought I would try it! I believe the business has been in Clifton Park for a long time! I had a wonderful experience here and would recommend it to anyone in the area! First of all, the store has tons of wedding dresses. They carry many high-end designers (Maggie sottero, Alfred Angelo, allure bridal...) in basically every style you would ever want. Compared to the other stores I went to in the area (Yvonne's and something bleu), the store had many more dresses to choose from. I loved about 4 so it was a hard decision :) they give you an ipad with all the dresses in the store on it. You can scroll through and "heart" the dresses you like and they will pull those for you. I thought this was a great system as they knew exactly what I liked! Secondly, the staff is so so friendly and nice. There seemed to be three generations working there. It is definitely a family store and these women know their dresses!!! I was fortunate enough to work with a younger girl whom I really bonded with. She was so sweet and helpful. I was there for about 2.5 hours and she worked hard for me during that time. She had tons of ideas to customize the dresses and show me dresses in different colors. I chose a dress that was originally blush but I wanted it in ivory and she put a swatch under the lace for me so I could see the ivory. She ended up choosing the dress I bought for me- she picked it out based on what I liked- smart girl! I was lucky because they had just gotten the dress in. :) the other women were so nice and helpful too; they offered their opinions without being rude or pushy. The price of the dress was great compared to the prices I saw at Yvonne's and something bleu. I was shocked to end up under my budget for a very intricate dress!! I'm so happy I ended up supporting a local family business when getting my dress. I love my dress so much and am so thankful to have worked with such a nice staff here to find it! This store is amazing. The employees are truly knowledgeable and are very helpful. I went in one day with my fiance and we told them right as we got there that we weren't going to buy the dress that day. Even after hearing this the two employees working there were willing to let her try on every dress she wanted and would help her every step of the way. Their entire staff is extremely friendly and willing to help you with anything you need, and their selection of dresses covers a wide variety of price points. My fiance and I ended up going back a week later and buying a $1,600 Alfred Angelo Disney Princess gown and they gave up a quote on the alterations before the dress was even ordered so we knew the total expense. Dont go anywhere else for a wedding gown or bridesmaid dress. Jocelynn's Bridal is by far the best in the Capital Region. read more

In 2016 we rented a prom tux from Jocelynn's. When we picked it up on Thursday evening as instructed it was the wrong size. The pants were a 44 and they were supposed to be a 32. The shoes were two sizes too small. They were unable to get the correct items until Saturday morning which left for a very nervous son waiting to see if he was going to have a tux at all. Our younger son went this year (2018) to rent his prom tux. We picked it up for him on Thursday as instructed. He was unable to be there as he had a track meet and they would be closed by the time he got home. We had him try it on immediately when he got home. The sleeves of the jacket were approximately 1/2" too short. The hem on the pants was 1/2 - 1" too short. We could deal with that. But his shirt was a 7XL!! He is 6' tall and weighs 165 pounds...a 7XL?!?!?! Because he had another track meet on Friday, we could not personally take him there to get a replacement shirt. We went out and bought the correct size shirt for him. When we returned the tux we told them what happened and they said they cant do anything about it. So after two incidents where they left us less than satisfied, they will no longer get any business from us. There should be no reason that we have to travel to the store 4 times (selection rental, pick up, pick up the correct items, return tux) for a tux rental because of their error. And these were not subtle errors. They clearly do not check the product when it comes in. How on Earth could a kid that size, who is wearing s SLIM FIT tuxedo, be a 7XL?? That should have caused someone to question if there is an error. But the true irony in this is that we have 4 sons who can attend 4 proms each in their high school years (16 rentals), one has a girlfriend at a different school (2 rentals) and we are getting married next year (5 rentals, 1 wedding gown, and 4 bridal party dresses)...they got our money for 2 of the 28 possible transactions and they wont be getting any more!!! Last year we went to Tuxego and had a great experience and they will be our future tux rental place in the future. read more

I ordered my tux for my wedding here a few weeks ago, trusting that everything was done correctly when I ordered it. I told him what I wanted exactly, a black tux. It came in and it's grey. He then blamed me for not making sure it was correct when I signed it, how am I supposed to know what all the codes mean? I said I wanted black, not grey. Then said I could pay for over night shipping on a black tux... now I have to rush around two days before my wedding to find everything I need. Not happy. read more

Such a wonderful experience! It felt like playing dress up with some close friends. They have you look at some pictures to figure out your style and they go from there. They pull those plus things they think you will look good in. The girl that helped me today was so funny and sweet. She made the experience so personal. They made sure to stay in my price range. Jocelynn's has some nice dresses for any occasions. But I would warn anyone who is looking alone to beware that you will not get good advice from some of their staff. I tried on a dress in back and loved it I was then talked into ordering a lighter color with layers of fabric. When it came in I looked like a stuffed sausage. Really it was not a good dress for my body in any color other than back. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so i knew I was stuck with he dress and did not try to negotiate. then they offered to try to find me a back dress in which case they would take the other dress off my hands... Well then seems like maybe stye could have offered to buy it for half price. Anyway, never shop with out someone who really cares about YOU. 3 weeks ago, I went to Jocelynn's (recommended by a co-worker) and I asked how much it would be to take in a bridesmaids dress that was not purchased from the store. The associate went to the back to ask how much it would be and asked me again where I purchased it - I told her it was from San Francisco. She went back and then asked me if I needed it hemmed and I told her no. She went back yet again and told me it would cost between $50-60. I told her that I was losing weight and she said not to worry, that it would be taken care of at the 2nd fitting. When I came in for my first fitting, an older woman pinned me up and then printed a receipt for $85! I told her that I came in previously and I was told 50-60. She said that she would do it for 75, but that she thought I was tricking her. I said that I wouldn't pay more than $60 for the alterations since that was what was quoted to me. She interrogated me about what day I got the quote and who I spoke to. I told her she was wearing a scarf and to look at the handwriting in the appointment book to find out who I spoke with. She proceeded to throw a tantrum, calling me a trickster, and pulled out the needles from the dress. I said this was a terrible way to do business...and then she said she would do it for $65...I told her why are you going to quibble about $5? Eventually, she said she would do it for $60 but that she would never do an "outside" dress again and commented that she pays her sales girls $20 an hour. Why I needed to know that was beyond me. I wish I had just taken my dress elsewhere, because I just went in for my 2nd fitting and the dress was too big and she refused to fix it. At most, I lost 2 pounds since the first fitting and there was an inch of extra material around me. Another associate there said that I looked pregnant with a boy (FYI, I do not - and if I did - it's QUITE inappropriate to say that to a customer). She said she'd fix my dress for $15 - bringing me to what she wanted to charge me in the first place. She called me a trickster countless times on this visit as well. But it's Jocelynn's that tricks their customers - it's not the other way around. I hope this review can prevent a potential customer from the hassle I was put through. read more

I came here when I was in town with family for a last look, having visited a few other places. Both Maryam and the other seamstress were attentive courteous, discreet and kind. They were such experts at pinning that that dresses all looked great. They were true pros and not at all pushy. Jocelynn's has a great selection as well--something for every bride. My fiance purchased a dress through this company for a wedding on October 19, 2013. On the day of the wedding as the girls were getting dressed, my fiances dressed ripped at the zipper. The bride and other bridesmaids spent an hour trying to fix the dress to no avail. At this point we were 45 minutes late for the service and my fiance had to excuse herself from it as the dress tore even more. Talk about a horrible day and how upset the bride was. When we called Jocelynn's we were informed its the manufacturer's fault. We were offered to have the dressed fixed and resent out. I explained that that was pointless since the wedding had already happened. I asked for a refund and not even for the whole amount. What I was offered was at most a 50% discount on my next purchase! I spoke with a gentlemen who first identified himself as the "manager" and then the owner. This was unacceptable. He told me that his dresses are for a one time use and he will not refund me anything. I will never use them again and encourage everyone who is debating on where to go for dresses to seek alternative dress shops. This is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have had the misfortune of dealing with. read more

I had bridesmaids traveling from 2 hours away for this. We confirmed our appointment twice. TWICE. After we pulled a few dresses..we were offered a makeshift shady dressing room with a bedsheet as a door in the back storeroom. This place was mayhem.
