If I could give them more stars, I would. Angela's Bridal was the sixth place that I had been to…read morelook at wedding dresses and the other places ranged from David's Bridal to other similarly sized smaller boutiques. Angela's was hands down the best experience in every way. Setting up an appointment was easy and they were super accommodating. As soon as we walked in the door it was like going to try on dresses with women you've known forever. They had me fill out a sheet about my wedding and instantly looked up our venue and started ooh-ing and aah-ing over it. I was there with my mom and grandma and they introduced us to how the store is laid out and then let us go through and pick out the gowns I would try on. Some places are so secretive about what the bride is doing until she has a dress on, so I was happy that they got to be a part of the dress choosing. After that we started with just three dresses to gauge my reaction to those and went from there. The staff is SO knowledgeable about both the dresses and how a dress fits into the larger overall picture of a wedding. At other bridal shops you can feel like you might as well be buying a $50 pair of jeans for all that the salespeople know about dresses and weddings, but that is not at all the case here. They are true professionals, from the intern who was sitting at the front desk to the woman who helped me with dresses, to the other sales associates who are floating around the store. They all go out of their way to be helpful and truly succeed. As if the entire experience wasn't positive enough, Nora was definitely the brightest of bright spots. She is the perfect mix of easy going and open to you trying on the dresses that you want, but also she's not going to let you try on so many different dresses that you drive yourself crazy and don't know how to make a decision. From the second I walked in I felt as though I had known her forever and she was right there with us from the time I picked out to the first dress until I walked out with my dress (they were having a sample sale - icing on the cake!). She knew the dresses inside and out and was amazing at painting a picture of what each dress could be like for my particular wedding. Angela's is lucky to have her. The dress I bought I could have bought from other places, but I was more than happy to give my business to Angela's Bridal and I have been telling anyone who will listen since then that if anyone in the Berkshires or Capital Region needs a dress, Angela's is THE place to go.

Well for starters, if I could give this place negative stars I would!! Not only do they "not give…read moretimeframes" for when your dress will be in, they don't do alterations either. So when our bridesmaids dresses came in A MONTH before the wedding they mistakenly ordered a size 16 dress for one bridesmaid when she ordered a 6. After much arguing back and forth they agreed to "fix" the "computer error" and alter the dress. They told the bridesmaid to come back in a week to pick up the dress. Well when she went to pick up the dress a week later they had her wait an hour because the dress was being "pressed" low and behold and out of options I'm sure they came back and told her they had not in fact done the alterations. This is Monday the wedding is the upcoming Saturday. Furious the bridesmaid who was 16 by the way informed her mother about what was going on. For the next hour her mothers phone calls were ignore then forwarded to a voicemail. After a voicemail being left they called back and said that technically since we signed a contract we don't have to speak to you about the dress only the bride. Absolutely never go to this place you're better off going to a place that values the customers and want to fix mistakes if they are made. No business is perfect but the lack of customer service and attitudes of the employees is enough for me to never step foot in there again and clearly write a yelp review about *******yelp tried to remove this because it "wasn't my first hand experience" but let me tell you it sure was!!!

However, our experience was flawless with Amy Carinci, who helped us with picking the most perfect dress, that we bought it that day! Fast forward to alterations with Bahara H. She truly is amazing at alterations. My daughter had a strapless dress and she lost a significant amount of weight prior to the wedding, 6.26.26. She added built in cups and the fit of the dress was absolutely perfect. I can not express enough how wonderful the staff is and the selection of gowns and styles. In addition, we bought all the bridesmaids dresses, and they helped facilitate delivering them to other locations for pick up. Amazing experience!!!

My sisters dress was completely ripped at the zipper and had a food stain (textured) on the dress straight out of the packaging, ew! When we asked about it the ladies working said they could try to get the stain out but it might just be. My other sister's dress was pinned to be hemmed and when they asked for approval on the hem it was very short on one side and long on the other, the ladies tailoring gave us attitude but we asked them to make it correct 4x. It took much longer and was much more frustrating than anticipated. Adrienne at the front desk was very helpful and got us confirmation that the stain would be handled. They did discount the dress but it was a difficult experience.

I tried several dresses on and you know what? I ended up buying that first one I said no way to! She was spot on when she picked that one out for me! It was perfect and it looked beautiful on! They also have a full selection of shoes and purses to go with your gown. Service is impeccable, which is hard to find these days. I can't say enough about this place!

So far, only one other review has addressed the rest of the business which includes women's clothing, jewelry, candy, soaps and other personal care products, greeting cards, knickknacks, and holiday gifts. There is a sign on the back of the building where the main entrance is located, directing bridal service customers in one direction and all others to a different entrance. We were in search of holiday gift ideas and purchases so we avoided the bridal entrance - you probably need an appointment to shop there in any event. As already noted, there are a lot of things for sale in the main store, and that may be a problem. While the clothing, almost exclusively for women ( I saw a sign saying they have men's hats and scarves) appears to be well organized by color, there is so much of it packed into racks and on shelves that it actually is a chore to browse. If you are looking for products made in the U.S.A. or Canada, there are options available. Staff were friendly and helpful in our search for personal care products. They offered to gift bag our purchase and removed all price stickers. However, when we requested who made their chocolate candy, the only response was that it came from a variety of places. As one other reviewer pointed out, an important feature that is lacking in the store is a restroom for customers. You may have to drive a mile or so to find one (Hannaford? Shop Rite?). Also note that they do not take the American Express card.

What can I say, I like to be fancy sometimes, and this Capital Region boutique always has exactly…read morewhat I'm looking for, even before I know what it is I'm looking for, ya know what I mean? This shop offers an entirely different shopping experience than we're used to in the Capital Region. Instead of rummaging through the racks at the big box or off-price stores, shopping at Fancy Schmancy is like the Cadillac of shopping experiences: pretty much one-stop shopping for all your fancy outfit needs, with attentive and sweet sales associates helping you find what you're looking for, minus the crowds and the parking and the other headaches that come with shopping at places like the mall. Fancy Schmancy is popular on the high school prom circuit (and rightfully so!); however, this shop is so much more than prom dresses and ball gowns - it's one of my favorite places to shop when I'm looking for something a little fancier than usual, so if/when you need something for a special occasion, you should definitely give this place a try! From black tie weddings to causal holiday parties, and I've always felt like a million bucks while wearing anything I've ever purchased from this shop, like the perfect cocktail dresses for my sister's December rehearsal dinner and black tie wedding in July, or a long tweed vest with a faux fur trimmed collar and pockets outlined with a uniform row of pearls and silver beads for a casual holiday party, I've found the perfect threads to wear for any occasion. And it's not just the clothes, either. Fancy Schmancy has a beautiful display and selection of jewelry/costume jewelry to accessorize with, not to mention trendy hair pieces, like top knot and Renaissance style headbands, sparkly bobby pins, and the latest craze: jumbo flip clips. I actually picked up a pair of jumbo flip clips adorned in pearls to wear to the holiday party with the faux fur vest (I was getting a blow out so why not be extra fancy, right?) and what started an impulse buy at the register turned into my new favorite hair accessory! They have a really fun social media feed (@fancyschmancycouture) and true story: one time last summer I raced over there after I saw a really cool newspaper print jumper in their Instagram Stories, because it was the perfect outfit to wear to an event I had that weekend. So if anyone doubts the power of social media, I'm a good case study. They have a good price point overall - some things can be a little on the higher end (the fancier cocktail dresses and pieces in that department), but their casual wear is pretty reasonable, and it's definitely boutique quality and selection over the mass produced stuff you see on the racks virtually everywhere else. Social media is a great way to keep up with their inventory and, more importantly, sales! In fact, right now until the end of the year (literally one more day) they're offering 40% off casual wear, so I'm tempted to pop in to see what last minute deals of 2019 I can snag! If you're still looking for a NYE outfit, I highly suggest you save yourself the headache and aggravation of rummaging through the racks at the mall and give this boutique a try - you might be surprised! I know I was.

I can't say that I know a LOT about shopping for a wedding dress (except from watching Say Yes to…read morethe Dress, of course) so when I had to start looking, I just thought of places I knew. Since I'm from Schenectady originally (and am getting married there in the fall) I immediately thought of Ferri Formals since they're right on Union Street and my bus stop used to be right across the street. So I made an appointment at Ferri Formal based on finding a bunch of dresses I really liked from a designer who was having a trunk show at Ferri. Ended up getting there for my appointment and didn't really get to look at any of that stuff. I don't know if that's an indication of what their trunk shows usually are like or what. But I decided to look outside what I had first envisioned and went thru maybe 5 dresses, hating them all on me. Then we found The Dress. Which was pretty exciting. I imagine all bridal stores try to sell you stuff all the time so going in with that feeling, I didn't think they were very pushy here at all. Just normal oh-but-don't-you-want-this-veil?-oh-wait-it's-almost-$1,000 stuff. I ultimately had a good time, bought a gown in 2 hours and am excited to see how the alterations process goes. The store is a lot bigger than it appears on the outside, with many floors. It was pretty crowded when we were there but it wasn't a problem and they seemed to work the timing of the appointments pretty well. I had a little space to myself to try on dresses (tho the actual fitting room was quite small especially considering you're just removing your clothes with a stranger in, essentially, a closet). But it ended up being totally fine. They seemed to have a lot of Prom dresses and other formal dresses too. (Most not really my style but, still.) Everyone was pretty friendly and all in all I had a good shopping experience.

You want to have that Say Yes to the Dress moment, no matter how stereotypical and saccharine it sounds. But it's true. To be honest, I did not find by dress at the Bridal Gallery by Yvonne. I found it at another shop further north. However, by the time I found the dress, I had already been spoiled by the amazing stylists (we started with the adorable Tirsia), and finally found out what it was like to be waited on at a bridal gallery. This second spot did nothing--they were rude and couldn't even give me a private space. So you know what I did? I found out the style number of the dress I liked, called up Yvonne, and asked if they could order it for me. And you know what? THEY DID. They did not carry the brand or the dress, and they were able to order it special, just for me. This was absolutely incredible and a real preview of what was to come. Each time I went, they had a large, private lounge area for me to use. During my first visit, Tirsia listened to the styles I liked and what I thought I might want to see in a dress. She was very thoughtful in her choices, and, while I am a larger lady, she was able to give me several dresses that were not woefully too small. I also appreciated that they did not make me spend hours going through their inventory on my own. It was such a stress relief that she listened to me, saw the shape of my body, and then gave me a set of custom curated choices, almost all of which could have been serious contenders. They allowed my friend to get my faraway mom on Skype so she could feel involved. They gave me space and they gave me time. They never for a second made me feel less-than for being a ~curvy~ bride. And once I purchased my dress, I even got a handwritten thank-you card. They really went above and beyond for me. Alterations were not cheap, but they did them fast and they did them VERY well. On my wedding, my dress fit like a dream. I highly, highly recommend this Bridal Gallery. I always felt very important here, and they made the process fun (and clothes shopping is generally a miserable chore for me). I am so grateful they were able to accommodate me! On my final try-on before taking the dress on a plane for my wedding, I finally got to meet Yvonne in person. What a riot! She was awesome, and took extra time in showing us how to use the bustle, giving us tips on taking the dress on a plane, and helping me calm any nerves. After meeting her, it's easy to see why the Gallery is as accommodating and friendly as it is.

Sindi has helped me look my best for every occasion every time, with close attention to concerns and detail. The options and styles are endless as she has the widest selection in the area. Sindi takes the time to know her clients, I had no idea when I walked in to her store last year that she would ask if I was in fact, Ms. Cubello of Guilderland high school.. years after my last purchase for prom in 2009 she had STILL remembered my name, face, and the purple Jovani gown that she sold me many years ago. She asked about the dress and the cruise dinner. She even knew the occasions of which the dress was worn at the time. It was not only prom but a formal dinner gown on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Her memory blew me away. I had no idea out of the thousands of girls she meets each year that she would remember her experience with me. Last prom season I saw the dedication and the determination of Sindi Saita to make each girls wish come true. So many dresses came in and left in one prom season. I couldn't believe the amount of girls who would often travel more than 2 hours just to shop our selection. I can't speak enough great things about the woman behind the shop. She is a miracle worker. After working alongside Sindi I couldn't help but feel inspired.
