After an initial FaceTime call, Katie followed up with a personalized timeline of the day, making sure every small event was accounted for, before I even signed a contract! On the day of, Max hung out with the boys and Katie hung out with the girls to take behind the scenes shots before our first look and bridal party photos. Me and my husband agreed, they got along great with our bridal party and were able to blend right in. There was no odd feeling of someone photographing you. My husband and I can both be somewhat awkward people in front of a camera but Katie and Max made us feel very comfortable during our formal pictures. During our initial call, Katie asked if we were a "dancey" group of people. We certainly are, and both Katie and Max were not afraid to get right in the middle of the dance floor to get some awesome snaps. We had guests coming up to us all night complimenting both how nice and how attentive they were! They mixed in great with the crowd to the point they felt like guests. And I guess more important than the fact we thought Katie and Max were super fun people, the photos are FANTASTIC!! Us/friends/family are thrilled with the variety and look of their selection--a great mix of candids, posed photos, and scenic shots of the venue/landscape. It gives us a 360 view of the day, which is exactly what you hope for. Turn around time was also insanely fast. I've heard from many friends they waited months for their photos-- Katie had ours ready in two weeks! There are so many things that are stressful enough in the days leading up to the wedding and the morning of. Surround yourself with people/vendors who put you at ease. We didn't want to use just any regular photographer, we wanted a photographer whose niche was weddings. When we saw Scott's pricing and stunning photography, we were sold. I called him up, spoke on the phone with him, and then actually met with him with my mom, who happened to be in town then (we were going wedding dress shopping). Since we live in Connecticut and Scott is in NH, he actually didn't meet Jay until a month before the wedding when we all met up at the Shattuck to go over details and so he could actually meet Jay, in order to get a feel for his personality and to see how the two of us interact. My husband isn't the type of man who does well with posed photography, and with Scott's perspective and style of not doing poses photography, but capturing everything in the moment and as it happens, we definitely felt confident with our choice of photographer. Hiring a day of coordinator was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! Lauren and her assistant, made my day stress free and took care of everything! This Inn is going to change your life…read more Months ago, all I wanted to do is book a cozy, romantic, farm B&B on our first-time New England escape. (which the Inn certainly delivered) But now...I can't stop thinking about the powerful reality of farm-to-table living and Jackie's insistence that we finally pick up and read The Omnivore's Dilemma on the nightstand in every guest room. The many awards and accolades this place continuously receives year after year speaks for itself. Let me tell you about our experience: We booked the Mustard Room and since Jackie had other rooms available, she upgraded us to stay in the Rose Room. Bonus. The bed was fit for a king and after a long drive we snoozed until the wee hours enjoying pure luxury. If only we could have spent more time exploring the rooms which were decorated with rich detail. Have fun playing board games in the front room or pick up a cozy book in the library room. The bathroom feels like a spa and the sunroom is where you need to spend your time. Better yet...get outside and explore the grounds! Learn how to build your own compost, collect eggs, pick vegetables, play with the animals and so much more. Lola just comes out and gives lots of love :) The 3-course candlelight breakfast was delicious! On how many occasions have you enjoyed a beautiful flower with your meal as you chat with the cook about how many more blooms you should eat for a balanced meal? My first popover was steamy and tasty. Too bad I filled up on the complimentary cookies in the pantry that I couldn't eat more. But you know what? These cookies were the number one recipe in town. No, really. They won the local contest for best cookie. I think I ate like 10 cookies in one hour. You have to stock up on the town's NUMBER ONE cookie!! No shame! But the food really is incredible. All straight from the farm. All organic, all sustainable. The partnership with local farms and shops is inspiring. Jackie gave us great tips on things to do in town and the best way to enjoy hot cocoa at Burdick's. (half and half). Probably the best tips she gave us were life-changing and inspiring for our future farm to table efforts. One day, Jackie! One day! You really need to stay here and taken an apprenticeship on sustainable farming. I still find myself wondering how much Coco and Lola have grown (friendliest goats in the world).
