As someone who has lost over 150 lbs, there are times that I fail to see how far I have come. A boudoir shoot is one of the best ways to remind yourself of all the progress you have made. Prior to the shoot I received emails outlining everything I needed to know (tanning , shaving , stretches , hydration , outfit ideas , inspiration , etc etc). We also set up a FaceTime so we could connect "face to face" prior to the shoot which calmed a lot of my nerves. The day of the shoot I had a blast. Josh is nothing but professional but also will make your experience fun and empowering. At first I was skeptical about shooting with a male but an interesting take is he was able to offer a point of view and obtain images maybe a female would not. When it came time for my reveal I was blown away. He took the time to put together a slide show with music. And went through each image with me one by one. Two of the images (my boyfriend and I) selected I would have never chosen at first glance. It was his male point of view that was able to capture images my partner was blown away by. My experience with josh was excellent. Walked in to a friendly face and a beautiful setting. Started with mimosas to get comfortable, then was talked through the shoot to have a good understanding on both sides of what we wanted the outcome to be. Josh was so light and bubbly, very supportive and funny! He made sure to crack jokes through out to get the most genuine and comfortable you. You will never catch him manipulating you're body on photoshop or changing you're features. My experience with Josh was absolutely AMAZING. I was a little nervous before going thinking what if I don't look good, what if my body is unflattering, will this make me more self conscious? Once I got there Josh made me feel so comfortable he was personable and funny which helped my nerves. His hair and makeup artist was so sweet and I let her decide how my makeup should look and it came out amazing as well and it was great to be able to come and be all dolled up with no stress. During the shoot he continuously reassured me how great the pictures were coming out and at one point he turned the camera around and I immediately said WOW who knew I was capable of looking like that! After my session ended I was so excited I couldn't wait to see how the rest turned out. When I went to my reveal session I was almost in disbelief how flattering and amazing the pictures came out I thought my body was photoshopped. There was even a picture that he pointed out to me and said I know you can see your stretch marks on your stomach and I want you to know I left them because they are beautiful and it shows the journey and that you grew two beautiful children! This picture ended up being one of my favorite pictures and honestly his comment made me feel so empowered. I would recommend Josh without a hesitation. I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars. I had such an amazing experience. I was so nervous and hesitant at first but who isn't being your most vulnerable in front of a stranger. I was nervous and excited at the same time. Josh was super professional and welcoming. He made me feel like I have known him for years by the time I was done with the shoot. I had a lot of laughs, best part is when he brought out a "DAD JOKE" book to make me laugh more than I was. The turn around time was amazingly quick and going into seeing my photos I was terrified again because I hate my pictures taken and hate photos people take of me..but I can honestly say I WAS BLOWN AWAY with the results. I couldn't believe that was actually me and you just look at yourself in such a different light and gain so much more confidence during the shoot and after seeing the results. Leading up to the shoot, I was nervous because I have never done anything like this and I felt hesitant to be almost nude in front of a male photographer. I got to the shoot and within minutes I felt 100% comfortable even in the most revealing outfits! Josh is completely professional and makes the shoot fun and light and it was such an enjoyable experience. Even going back to see the photos I felt nervous wondering if it'd be a crushing blow to my self esteem (us females are our own worst critics) but I saw the slideshow and loved almost every image. I couldn't even believe how amazing they were-they exceeded my expectations. Josh truly is incredible at his job. I have had girlfriends tell me they want to do a shoot but need to lose weight first and NO you do not! Josh utilizes angles and lighting and different posing to make every body look incredible.
