l've been going to David Ezra Salon in Wayne, NJ for over 15 years and they are consistently on point. David--who I affectionately call Edward Scissorhands--is incredibly precise with his cuts. His attention to detail and skill are unmatched. Brittany is one of the best colorists I've ever encountered. She can create any color look you want and is always completely honest and transparent about what's achievable. The results are spot on every single time. Marisol is also an incredible, highly creative stylist with an amazing eye and technique. Beyond the talent, the experience is top-notch. The massage chairs during shampooing are amazing and the salon has great feng shui with a calm, welcoming, relaxing & chill vibe. They also have a convenient nail salon on site that does an amazing job as well--definitely make an appointment so you can knock out two birds with one stone. On top of that, there's a spa on the second level, making it a true one-stop destination for self-care. The entire team is talented, professional, and truly passionate about what they do. Julie- let's stick to FACTS!! My daughter and stylist- and I- agreed to a 3 INCH trim, then he CHOPPED OFF 8-9 INCHES of hair- feel free to post a before and after and show a license/credit card (3.5 inches long) and you CLEARLY see what was cut was TRIPLE what we agreed to! NOT OK! She had been growing out her hair for years and was devastated that it will Take YEARS to grow back! Then when asked about it I get a snide remark about " well he doesn't he a ruler"- well maybe he should- and he told that "he is the professional?!" We missed an important gala and she missed the 8th grade dance due to the botched hair cut. FACT- her hair isn't even straight in the back- see pic attached! FACT there has been zero "treatment" whatsoever to your staff other than leaving an HONEST review! Maybe you should care that this experience ruined the end of the school year for my child and will Literally take YEARS to Grow back the extra 6 inches of hair! I purchased their Groupon for a facial for my birthday. Found this salon/spa and was excited as it was rated #1 for 7 years. Unfortunately, as beautiful as the 1st floor is, this business establishment is suffering a serious case of "lack of customer service". Whatever happen to the customer being right and trying to make things better??? I had an appointment for 11:00am, received 2 texts regarding my appointment being at 11am. Being that it was my 1st visit I arrived 10 mins early. Was checked in, and told take the elevator to mezzanine(second floor). Waited for my technician, who came out at 11am. Gave me another form to fill out. She then said she will be back to get me. I waited another 15 mins and nothing. By 11:25am, I went back downstairs and asked how much longer bc I had somewhere to be by 12:30pm. The 1st response I after she looked at my appointment was "oh you're booked for 11:15am". I stated no, I have 2 texts saying otherwise. Showed her and her response? Crickets! Instead she called upstairs and then was told "you can go back up she's waiting for you". Go back up and the tech tells me "you're scheduled for 11:15am." I advised her otherwise and if that's was the real case, it is now 11:28am and you're very late too. Her reply "I was sanitizing." Now, let me explain that I am fully aware of covid and appreciate your cleanliness. However, that is the reason my appt is booked as 60 mins- 50 mins active treatment and 10 mins Grace period to clean and what not. Now, to make matters worse, during the treatment she never even explained what happening. Such as "this May sting a bit" "I am going to put..." no instead at the end she said how her usual clients know that she's always 5-10 mins so they know to never show up on time. Please explain to me how this is suppose to spa customer service?!! Please train your staff on the importance of proper customer service and how to make things right for your customers. I was extremely disappointed and turned off. Especially on my birthday and was so looking forward to a morning self care day for me. read more

They tried to make it right by having me back but just "weeded" more hair out as I watched the chunks fall to the floor, hair is darker than it ever was and they don't have the dignity to reply to an email about my overwhelming unhappines. read more

I absolutely LOVE David Ezra Salon & Spa! David Ezra was recommended to me by a friend and I've been back many times since for various services. Shida is my go to gal for hair services. She is a master of her craft and my favorite coloring style, the balayage. Her ability to hand paint highlights is absolutely fantastic. She truly understands the look you're going for and is able to add all the right touches to make my hair color look fantastic. ALSO, when I've gone lighter, she definitely saves your hair from becoming too dried out, it's fantastic! She also gives a great haircut and blow out! I've also come to David Ezra for just a blow out and hair cut from other stylists when Shida was not available and my decision was last minute. All other their other stylists are also very talented. Additionally, I've received a facial from David Ezra's spa. I have plenty of trouble spots with my skin and I found their spa facial to be nice, but sometimes I need a more high powered facial lol. Had a pedicure by Gina. I must be honest and say I was not happy with the pedicure at all. The Massage was so brief and anemic I don't know why she bothered. No lotion was used before scraping my heels, nothing was used to support my leg while this is going on other than her hand and that was very uncomfortable on my back. The polish was sloppy and too thick. It was not worth the $40 and change that I paid plus I was charged an Additional four dollars for Covid cleaning which is just outrageous. We as customers should not be bearing the brunt of Covid cleaning just because they need to disinfect they should be happy that we're walking through the doors not ripping us off. I went there to relax and get a good service I will never walk through the doors again and I will never recommend this place to anyone Hi Julie, Thank you for your response. When I was asked how the pedi was, I answered that it was ok! That is not a raving endorsement by any means. I did not feel the need to discuss all the things that I thought were wrong with the service nor was I looking for a complimentary service. In regards to the $4 I still feel that that is an egregious amount of money to charge customers when you should be happy they are walking back through your doors , under the circumstances, but that is not what made me unhappy. I got my haircut today with Stephanie. I was happy to see COVID protocols, taking temps at the door, and lots of available sanitizer. I was wearing a cloth mask, and they offered me a disposable one so that mine didn't wet during the shampoo. Great head massage with the shampoo and the products left my hair very soft. I watched Stephanie take her tools out of a sanitary solution, so I know they were clean. She showed me exactly how much she was going to cut when we discussed what I wanted. When I called to schedule, I was not sure if I wanted a blow out or a casual ponytail updo. They told me I would be able to decide after discussing with my stylist the day of my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I was told I was not scheduled for a blow out, and they would not have time to wash my hair and blow it out for the style/look I wanted (even if we went with the updo). I used a Groupon for this spa for a deep cleansing facial. I told my technician I was getting married so she suggested upgrading to the hydro facial and that I could put the Groupon price towards it. She told me the price was $125 so I'd have to pay the $60 difference. I agreed and allowed her to do it. When I went to pay, I felt pressure to buy products I didn't want to buy and they told me I owed $115, not $60. I'm not sure how they do their math, but I was forced to pay $115 meaning the total I paid with the Groupon was $185. On their websites, the Hydro facials are $199, so I have no idea what kind of deal I received. I will not be going back to this salon and I do not recommend it to anyone. read more

Especially having gone back the second time to fix it. Not only that but they will try scamming you for more money! Today I had such a horrible experience at David Ezra Salon. I do not recommend to anyone. I came to the salon two weeks ago for a consult for my hair. I did this because I wanted to make sure the hairstylist (David) and I were align with what I wanted. We agreed on the price and outcome because I didn't want any surprises. I book the appointment 5 days before my wedding. I come in today get my hair colored and instead of correcting it he ruins by not achieving what I wanted. The manager (Julie) was very rude did not find a solution and threaten us to pay or she would call the police. All they cared about was the money. So I payed and walked out. He cuts my hair perfectly each time and the shape remains 6 weeks later, even as my hair grows. I HIGHLY recommend him for short cuts! Got a full head of hilights done by Mandee yesterday and she totally nailed it! The blonde is perfect, exactly what I asked for and she was even able to lighten my ends which were super dark. To start off The place is very nice, big and clean! Everyone was so nice. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the lady who did my nails but it was either Rita or Teresa, she did exactly what I wanted even tho I got a regular manicure and wanted glitter she found a way to do it! Natalie did my hair and it was amazing! She started doing it and I didn't like how it looked on my face so she kindly changed it without complaining. Unless you like being ripped off, stay away from this salon. Gerardo is great, but this establishment is run very poorly. If your appointment takes one hour, which is the average length, you get charged extra money. Also, if a hairbrush is used during your blowouts, which is called a "brush blowout" and is obviously also the norm, you're again going to be charged extra. It is ridiculous. To again prove that this place is run very poorly, my husband called to speak to a manager to speak about this charge--he was supposed to receive a call back from her this past Monday which of course, as expected, never happened! I was looking for a new Salon, I've had several very bad experiences in the past. David was very professional. I was nervous sitting in his chair because of my past experiences...then I was even more nervous when he took out a razor instead of scissors. Well, it's been about a month and my haircut is absolutely fantastic. It is growing out and falling into place so beautifully. My color maintains it's luster. Also, David had stated while coloring my hair, I would be very happy with the way the color grew out in reference to my roots. He also suggested products from his own line. It was my mom's birthday today and I wanted to treat her to a facial. I was able to call the day before and book two afternoon facials for us side by side. When we arrived, the salon is large, modern and quite beautiful. We were greeted by Michelle who escorted us to the elevator, up to the mezzanine level. The doors opened and immediately the calm, contemporary decor and soft lighting of the waiting area immediately came upon to impress me. Michelle was amazing, her touch proved she was indeed a pro. Even her extractions were gentle enough to handle. The hour went by so quickly, I didn't want it to end. I no longer live in NJ, but when I come to visit my sister who lives in Wayne in the future, I am making a stop to see Michelle again! My mom had Anna. My mom is not easily wowed, but she highly enjoyed her facial as well. My mom who doesn't treat herself to services often, now has someone she will someday try again. Impressed. Used a Groupon for lash extensions with a 2 week fill. All the lashes fell out with in 3 days. Called and went back, got a complete fill again (tech used a different glue) and the same thing happened. I have had my lashes done before at different salons, and this is the first time that the lashes didn't last 2 weeks. I didn't give one star because they didn't charge me for the re-do and the tech appeared sincere about the problem. read more
