I give it a two because of the lady at the front who had approached me and loudly not even asked but said I had paid $58 for my service which was not true I had paid 110$ for my service and on top the additional services I had paid 150$. Later she came to me and said "oh that's what Groupon is paying us" That's not my concern or something I should know to begin with. It was so embarrassing for her to even come at me and say I payed $58 when the services Costed me so much more than. Update one week later, recieved a call back from LInda and she had started to argue over the phone with me about her not being loud. Horrible customer service. I have always been charged a reasonable price until today! After finishing the same services I get all the time, I go up to pay and some young girl at the front says $440 dollars!!! What??? I always pay $200 she said well sorry you have been charged wrong and we raised our prices???? $240 more? She said yes. THIS PLACE HAS GONE WAY DOWN HILL-LYING TO CLIENTS, FRAUDULENT PRACTICES, TERRIBLE CUT Here's a brief summary of my experience for anyone who does not have the time to read the full saga below: I was lied to about prices that weren't honored, I was charged for services that were not provided, I received sub par services, including chemicals that damaged my hair, and I was almost certainly lied to about who management was and treated disrespectfully by that "management." Full Saga: I had first gone to Faces Plus Salon on a groupon, about 4 months ago. Gerardo did my hair (cut and highlights) and I was very happy with the outcome, this first time. So much so that I was willing to do the 40 minute drive again about a week ago (just before Christmas) to get my hair cut & highlighted there again, requesting Gerardo. I'm a busy Mom with 3 kids so this was a big deal for me to go all this way again to make this happen. I knew I'd pay more this time around, obviously, without a Groupon, but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be ridiculous - so before making the appointment I asked the receptionist what Gerardo's normal prices are. She would not give me any actual numbers, but would only say that "our normal prices are only slightly higher than our Groupon rates." Ok, so fast forward to my first attempt at this appointment. After making the long drive in some light snow and low visibility, I get to the office only to find out that, "oh sorry, Gerardo's called in sick today. We tried calling you but I don't think we have your right number." Well, I know for a fact that I gave them my new cell phone number when I made the appointment and told them so. They told someone else was going to fill in for him and should be in "soon." I decided to leave and said I would call to reschedule. Second appointment: I was running 15 minutes before I left the house, so I called to let them know. I was very pointed in asking if it was ok that I was running late and if Gerardo would still have time to for the appointment. I made it clear I did not want him to rush and could always reschedule it. They assured me everything would be fine. When I got to the appointment it took about 15 more minutes for Gerardo to even appear from the back and start on my hair. He told me we would only have time to partial highlights instead of the full highlights I'd requested .As he was mixing the color for the foils, I asked again about the price for cut and highlights. He told me the total would be $150 for the cut, partial highlights, and blow out. Well, the price for FULL highlights, cut and a blowout on the groupon was $98 so I informed of what I was told on the phone and how this was definitely not in line with that. (To give you an apples to apples comparison, Faces Plus groupon price for blow out, cut & partial highlights is currently $67 - vs. $150 full price.) He said he'd speak to the manager, he at that point he said was named Jen - later when he told me it was a no-go, he referred to her as Careen. Meanwhile, time went on, and he took a series of obvious shortcuts on my hair: First, he left the foils in for literally about third of the time I normally have them in. I've been getting highlights for 15 years or so I'm well aware of the average time my hair takes with foils. I asked how he could get my desired color in this short amount of time and this still be safe for my hair and he gave me some BS story about how it's fine to do it this quickly as long as the stylist is extra vigilant. Further into the process, I received a "glaze" (that I paid an extra $30 for) that he left on less than a minute, a cut that took off length only, without any of the long layers I'd requested, and a face frame curled up at the ends to try to look like like the face frame I'd actually requested. When I finally went up to pay, I asked who was the manger and a girl in her early twenties with long brown hair responded that she was. She kind of had a smirk on her face, like this may or may not be true. She was clearly ready for me, and made no attempt whatsoever to smooth things over. (Besides not offering any discount, she made no attempt to be nice, or sympathetic, or to apologize for my dissatisfaction in any way.) . For example, I couldn't even fully get out the sentence about what the woman on the phone had told me on the phone before this young woman was cutting me off and asking, "Did she give you an actual price?" "Did you get an actual number?" (Smirk, smirk, smirk.) Give this one up after the Groupon (or better yet skip it altogether.) read more

On 8/25/19, I went to Faces Plus where I have been prior, and had an appointment for a cut, color, and blow dry. I had purchased a package of 6 colors for $275.00, and this would have been my third color visit. The first time, was fine - thought it looked great. I was not charged extra for having thick hair; I had to go back and have them touch up a few spots that did not take in between my first and second color - they were very accommodating for that. Today, I went for my color, and they told me it would be $20.00 additional because I had thick hair, and that the groupon I wanted to use for the cut and blowout would not be honored because I had used a groupon for color in the past at that salon. However, this is not what was told to me last visit. I was advised to call groupon and get a refund. I then cancelled my cut and continued with the color and blowout. I noticed that the stylist was skimping on the color so that she did not have to use extra and asked her about it. She said she would be more comfortable using more color for guranteed hair coverage, but it would be an extra $20.00. I had a wedding to attend - I had to do it and didn't have the time to argue any further. Julie brought me the card with the packages listed and showed me the fine print that said additional cost may be added if needed. That is not the point! The point is that as a business you must honor what you sold. Julie also told me that maybe too much time lapsed in between colorings and that is why I needed additional coverage. That truly was not the case. Very disappointed; like the stylists there; have these other additional colors to use up - but at what cost? Poor representation - bad business - unfortunately, I would not recommend this salon to others. read more

I have been going to the Faces Plus since I moved to Passaic country . Let me tell you , this salon ROCKS!!! Literary !!! The minute you walk in, people say hi and with the smile on their face welcome you to get pampered. It is also a very family oriented place. Some people go there with their spouses, they bring their kids as well-they can do anything ! My favorite stylist in Faces Plus-Victoria. She is an amazing person and top notch professional . She will turn your frizzy hair into silky smooth waves and her haircuts are just superb! I trust only Victoria to color my hair . See , as she educated me over the years coloring is a very accurate and particular process. I am so happy with the result. For over 10 years I always wanted to get shiny and silky looking like hair. Thanks to Victoria's professionalism , knowledge and experience she makes me feel and look like a super star. However she gets booked pretty fast , but staff at the salon are super professional and very nice. I came to this salon a few months back, first off- the receptionist was very rude to me, didn't even say hello, I'm a very friendly person and approached her and she kind of gave me a nasty look. I told her I made an appointment for just a trim and blowout and they had me written down for something I did not even ask for. When I told her that- she seemed annoyed at me because their staff had made that mistake. I then told her that she needed to calm down and not give me attitude when she begun to argue back with me. How dare an employee do that when you're PAYING the facility. I then asked how much everything would be and they wanted $90 for a trim and blow out, I asked why so much and the excuse was "because I have thick hair", which I've never heard an extreme amount for "thick hair". Overall this place is very unprofessional and rude. I haven't gone back since then and have told many people I know not to go there either. Don't waste your time, energy or money. read more
