We are visiting Alabama, have never had Dave's. I really liked it! My husband says his chicken was SUPER salty. I had mozzarella, Mac n cheese and chicken bites. I really enjoyed everything. We also had a two sandwich meal with fries. I liked the fries and his sandwich but it was a little over seasoned. We arrived and there was a girl waiting to take our order. I didn't love that she was wearing gloves, sweeping, cleaning tables and handling the food/shakes/ cups.... The restaurant was clean and so was the bathroom. Waited like 30 minutes for my food - 45 for my friend and we both ordered at the same time. Staff was a bit abrupt when her order was ready onscreen, but not at the counter. My food was good - her's was cold. I got the hot slider and reaper ranch, very good, spicy but not too spicy if you can actually handle heat. this rating is actually a 3.5. My husband got a hot box that was supposed to have two strips in it with four sliders, two pieces of mozzarella. There are no chicken strips only chicken bites. And only two sliders. I got the 10 piece chicken bites and I guess they count fried chicken skin as a bite. They look pretty sad...... I will say the reason why they're gonna get a 3.5 is the flavor was amazing, their ambience is great. Massive Disappointment!!! Although I had seen this restaurant in other cities, I finally tried it in Montgomery. Even still, I waited a month or so after the Grand Opening as the lines were long and out of control. This type of buzz and excitement can be expected of a new establishment, especially, when the aesthetics are new and shiny. However, that's where the enjoyable part ended. Walking in, the lobby was packed and had dirty tables, further, limited seating options. The menu was simple enough and the order was placed, quickly and efficiently. But, it took over 30 minutes to come!!! And, get this, it was COLD! Every bite from the sliders, fries, and chicken bites, tasted frigid. Why in the world was the wait so long for the food to be cold? Odd! Also, they forgot part of the order and I had to wait longer for them to get that part. On top of the that, beyond the 'spicy' exterior there was no flavor to this chicken...At ALL!!! I'm going to try one more time to see if, at least, it tastes different if served fresh and, truly, hot. Extremely disappointed but willing to try it one more time. read more

Slowest restaurant I've ever been to in my life. I ordered one slider and it took over and hour to get it. The place wasn't even packed.

We will not be back. Dirty and took to long to get food. Sweet girl at the counter. Food was ok.

Walked in around 1:35 on a Saturday. There is a milky liquid on the floor by the ordering desk with a wet floor sign propped on the order desk. Ordered and sat down at an available table that was dirty. The "where's my food" TV said our food was ready and when we went up to the desk to check on it, it wasn't ready. Our food then disappeared from the where's my food TV. We finally got our food after going back up to the counter at 2:16. For reference we got 2 #2s one with a cheese fry upgrade and a chicken tender. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and completely lacking in flavor or heat. My Oreo milkshake was just plain vanilla ice cream with a few Oreos sprinkled on top -- not blended at all. The per sealed container was opened on one side. It had a printed sticker on top of it. The young lady seemed to have been checking the order, but she did not do a very good job of it. First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken. Main issue at Montgomery location, is the service is extremely slow. We ordered at 2:42 and received our food at 3:16, and our order was incorrect, but we made it work because we didn't want to wait another 30min to get it fixed. Restaurant was also not stocked very well..they were out of forks and the drink station had no lids. Trash cans were overflowing..we had to set our trash on top of the can ..as both cans were completely full. This location needs help. And the prices...$62 for family of 4 for basically chicken fingers. Not worth it. Disappointed with our first attempt at Dave's Hot Chicken. read more
