We've been to this location many times in the past and everything was really good each time but this trip was absolutely terrible. My BBQ chicken was cold, dry and tasteless, slaw had zero flavor but the baked beans were good. My companion had a pork sandwich and fries, he didn't really care for his meal either. While this place always smelled phenomenal... it's not the best tasting... I was very excited to try the ribs, but they were veryyy chewy & did not fall off the bone at all. :( I couldn't even eat 2 of the 4 due to how hard they were to pull of the bone with my teeth. I will say both sides were great for what sides they were. The Mac n cheese was nice & warm & seasoned well. The fried green tomatoes were freshly fried & delicious. We often come here for lunch. It's a good place but can have its bad days. I would say more good than bad though but if I have an issue they are quick to respond and resolve it. Jessica was a delight to meet. She took care of everyone. They need 10 of her! Give this lady a raise. Great service here. The BBQ baker is one of my favorites and the smoked wings with white sauce. Visited Full Moon BBQ while visiting family in Montgomery. The food was good and the service was fast. It was reqally crowded so the noise level was good in the restaurant. At times, it can get loud there with a full restaurant. I had the ribs and they were tasty. I have had much better at other places but these were very good. Okay, so I adjust my scale when I am not in a state known for Que smoke. Texas? Oh we smoke. We git doooowwwwnnnn with the smoke. I have oak, hickory, pecan, and of course, mesquite sitting in my arsenal at home. I also have pellets for my pellet smoker in varieties. I smoke. I smoke smoke. I throw down. So you Yelpers put Full Moon out here. Didn't rate it that good. I have to see for myself. First thing, it's in a former Chick-fil-A store. Nice looking building off top. Enter to a greeting and smile. That's how you sposed to do it. I returned the greeting and cheese. Nice. I'm ordering a value family meal. Baby backs, potato salad, beans, and a cup of fried okra. Let's get it. Doing takeout so it has to make the 8 minute drive and still be good. The first thing I notice is that this is a heavy bag. Weight is always a good indicator that they give up enough food. Advertising "family meal" is meaningless if the volume of food is stingy. Unpack the meal. A true setup for a family of four. A full fat rack of sweet tender baby backs. Thick end to end. Meaty. Red potato skin potato salad. Chunky. Baked beans. These are brown sugar bbq baked beans. Sweet, flavorful, good-looking. Fried okra was lightly fried. I prefer much darker. My fault, not theirs. Um. No bread to be found. Came with chocolate chip walnut cookies dipped in chocolate.. sweet treats make up for no bread. So eating time. Ribs truly needed more smoke. These tasted like very good oven roasted ribs, not smoked. If I come in your spot and leave without the smell of smoke on my shirt? You need to up your game. BBQ requires smoke and time. Still, these were juicy, tender, and meaty and had good flavor. Just need smoke from wood. Sides were pretty darned great. The beans took me there. Needed more onions. But that's me. 4 stars. Had the ribs been smoked 5 stars. I had bread here but would have loved a roll or toasted Texas toast as customary with a meal. Someone dropped the ball. All in all, with my adjustment, 4 stars. Needed more smoke flavor. Meals needed bread. But service was on point. I hate not giving them that 5th star, but smoke matters. My visit was on 8/23/24 at 7:48pm and I got my refund by 7:57pm I was a regular customer with Full Moon since they opened in Montgomery AL. That ended today. This evening my family and I went to Full Moon in Montgomery AL, I ordered my food in the drive thru, then pulled up to the window. My total came to $25.50. The employee that took my was amazing, she was professional, patient, and kind from the time I placed my order at the intercom to receiving my payment at the drive thru window. As much as I wish this message was solely about the wins at this location, there's a reason why I said earlier that tonight is my absolute last time I will ever come to Full Moon! As I paid the cashier at the window for my food I was able to see with another employee responsible for making my food. This employee held my chicken, then pulled a piece off and proceeded to eat it. After, the employee put the remaining portion of chicken in my plate. Seeing that led me to tell the cashier to send the manager to me. I told the manager what I saw, he then went to the employee and asked her if she pulled a piece of the chicken and ate it. The employee denied doing so and stated she had lent on her face and was removing it. I have noticed the management has had some turnovers from the time this location had opened and it shows in the quality and care for the food and the quality of employees they have now. A year ago no one would be caught on their phones especially standing at the front counter. Today however, the young ladies in the front were having a social hour with the phones out. The manager (Donald) was "running" the shift this particular evening. However it didn't look as if he was aware of what was going on oh his restaurant. I told him instead of looking for his employee to be honest to simply look at the cameras. Either way this restaurant is now officially an unsafe place for me to eat. After leaving with my refund I went to the grocery store. I don't go to restaurants to get sick, and if food safety isn't a priority focus to your staff, then that is exactly what's going to happen. The portion size was more than enough. I ordered BBQ chicken, baked beans (my favorite), and potato salad. I have this thing with potato salad. If they are serving it, then I'm ordering it.
