DAVE DID ME DIRTY YALL!!...LETS TALK ABOUT IT This was my first time trying DHC and from my personal experience, anything "hot" on a menu is typically mild at best.... DAVE SAID NOT OVER HERE!! WHAT I ORDERED: I ordered Dave's #3 (Tender and slider w/ fries) it comes with slaw but I hate slaw so I opted out. When you order a tender and slider, it's like you're getting a breast and a full grown sandwich (at least my portion was like that!) The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, but only on the outside (smh). Peel the crust back and it's as bland as their "signature" Dave's Sauce that tastes like nothing. I tend to find this issue with a lot of fast food/ fast casual establishments... I get why they do it. It just sucks. I ordered the slider in medium and the tender in hot. I tried the slider which is paprika/ cumin forward...flavor = 8/10. There was also sauce drizzled on it like Dave's sauce but it tasted different from what came in the packet. The seasoning of the tender was different from that of the slider. The flavor of the hot (minus the heat) is better than the flavor of the medium in my opinion. THE HEAT LEVEL: The heat level of the tender was right above medium so I'm thinking it's not going to be that drastic of a difference. TELL ME WHY I HAD TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOSE MY MOUTH DOWN?!! And then they have the nerve to have TWO MORE heat levels above that. HOT IS WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED!! Around $13 is what you'll pay for this particular meal. It does not come with the drink. Just a next-day of pain (iykyk) if you get hot or anything above that. Enjoy! read more

I'm giving a little leeway because it's new and very busy but the staff isn't keeping up with keeping the dining area clean. The building design isn't optimized to account for the noise of that many people either. The food was decent but not anything to go out of the way for. The spice level is customizable but "mild" (about the middle) is about as spicy as Popeyes spicy. Each "mozz" was about the size of a half of a sandwich bread slice. Pretty big. The mac & cheese was meh. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken Located on Wheeler Road Augusta,GA Food: We ordered two 2 slider meals; one flavored hot and the other mild. The chicken was cooked fresh, crunchy outside, tender & juicy inside. The bun was really soft and not thick and heavy. Overall a really good meal! Service: This is a new establishment in Augusta so, you know there will be a line to enter. We waited in line for about 15 minutes however they had an associate outside managing the crowd and ensuring customers were in order. Customer service once you made it to the counter was excellent!!! We were greeted, asked if we have visited before also, had the menu explained to us. I LOVE spicy food. So if you put HOT chicken in the name --- I expect to breathe flames! Dave's Hot Chicken certainly has enjoyable food. The quality of the chicken was great and the crispiness was on point. My only qualm...is the spice level was exceptionally mild for a place with "hot chicken" in the name! I was expecting to need to hold onto my drink for dear life. To have to call up my loved ones and let them know it had been nice knowing them. Or even grab a box of tissues for the runny nose I just knew I was going to have! Again, the food was good. I love the atmosphere -- the paint splatters and artwork were lovely, but man....I wanted that hot chicken to knock my socks off. If you're looking for crispy chicken? Dave's is the place. I thought the chicken was delicious. I liked the medium spice the hot was too hot and sorta ruined the experience of eating.

On the upside the service is ok, not super attentive but good enough, the pickles are good and fries passable... Otherwise it's a Yikes! no! no! no! Paying ~$15.50 for one person I expect a lot more. Having been to prince's and hattie b's in Nashville, unless there was something wrong with my chicken, this is not Nashville hot chicken and not worth waiting in line like you would at the aforementioned restaurants. You expect heat with a touch of sweet with a little wetness showing on the bread. I got number one Xtra hot with a small drink.. Love spicy stuff. I give it a medium to medium hot for someone who enjoys heat. I Should have known as soon as I didn't see the stain on the bread. Why bother serving the bread as it's a slice of white bread at this point not a part the eating experience like it's supposed to be.. The dipping sauce looks like Canes sauce which got me excited, it tasted of virtually nothing so why even have it... First taste of the chicken ( no sauce because it wasn't going to add anything), you get the unpleasant feel of too much dry powder completely drying out your mouth. Visited Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time and had a great experience. The saucy Buffalo bites were the highlight--crispy, fresh, and generously coated in sauce. The seasoned fries were also excellent and paired well with the meal. My son had the sliders with fries and Mac and Cheese. Everything was delicious and we have leftovers. Although the restaurant was busy, the line moved quickly and the staff stayed friendly and attentive throughout. Darius especially made a strong impression--he welcomed us, walked us through the menu since it was our first visit, and even checked back in on us after we sat outside to eat. Overall, solid food and genuinely good service. I'll definitely be back. read more

He is so friendly and honestly has given the best customer service we've had in Augusta in a long time. The food was good! So far, we've tried the medium and hot. They're both good, but we really liked the medium sliders. The music is a little loud for my preference, but not bad enough that I didn't come back. Overall great experience. read more
