Another amazing culinary experience at Persis. We are always warmly welcomed in by the friendly staff and invited to take a seat. We choose a table with a view of the Indian cooking channel. We order Rupee beers, onion & chili salad, and the vegetarian appetizer sampler. Our mains consisted of kormas & Chittenhad (sp?) & chili Naan. YUM!!!! Too much food...but always makes for a fantastic lunch the next day!

Came here couple years ago to celebrate girlfriends' birthdays and had the most wonderful experience. I just hate going out that way and tend to stick to something closer... today, I decided to take my hubby there and now he's hooked and he is now willing to drive me out there anytime I want! Food is amazing and the service is stellar! Our server went above and beyond and spent a few minutes with us to give us some recommendations and made sure all was up to our standards.

Persis never disappoints! As someone who lived in Hyderabad, Persis is my favorite Indian restaurant in Augusta because it reminds me of my former home city and has great food & service to boot. Always get the roasted papad to start your meal, and if you want something hearty for another day, get the biryani for home! They do a great job building flavors and spice profiles.

Recommended to me as the star of a surprisingly robust Augusta-area Indian restaurant scene, this place produced excellent food. I noted that they had one table open, but cleared a separate one off for me, which I soon realized was to get me farther away from a very noisy toddler. Thoughtful of them. I was a bit disappointed that their South Indian specialties were not available, but found enormous variety on the menu and settled on some classics, including an aloo tikki chaat and a kadai bhindi. My fried potatoes and chickpeas were viciously spicy (which is what I asked for) and covered in delightful little sev (chickpea noodles). One shouldn't make a habit out of eating an entire appetizer at an Indian place (they're usually quite filling), but for one this delicious, I found a way to finish it. My okra was freshly cooked and garnished and if anything, less spicy but still delicious. A window to the kitchen in back and two monitors playing different food channels focused the mind on gustatory pleasures. Besides common Indian dishes, they also had an Indo-Chinese selection, and (hopefully on most days) South Indian lentil-based creations like dosai and idli, as well as some other more esoteric options. I bet most of them are just as good as what I got, judging by the surrounding tables.

A couple of my friends were visiting Augusta, and they decided to come here for a Friday dinner. When we pulled up to the parking lot, we were pretty underwhelmed by the outside appearance, but when we opened the door, the scent of Indian spices burst through. We saw a pretty busy place with super friendly staff, but they were still able to accommodate our party of 6. The service was very attentive and joking, which adds a great deal of charm to this restaurant because it shows that they love working here and interacting with the customers! We were given some pitchers of water to refill our cups whenever we needed to, which was very convenient because we always felt bad asking for more water refills from the hosts at any restaurant where we are a large group. After we ordered our food, we were given these... colorful chip appetizers? With tamarind dip and cilantro dip. The chips were light and airy, and they were superb with the tamarind dip. Not a fan of cilantro, so no comment on that dip. I ordered the Korma chicken (spicy), bread basket, and mango lassi. The lassi was very thick and flavorful, and it came in a copper cup. It seemed small in size, but it was filling! The bread basket was for sharing with the table, and it came with 3 pieces each of 4 different types of naan: chili, garlic, regular, and wheat. My personal favorite was the garlic naan! The korma chicken came with a bowl of basmati rice. I asked for the spiciest spice level, and it was a comfortable amount of spice. I kinda expected to be crying tears of pain because I know how spicy Indian food can get, but I'm glad it was enjoyable instead of painful. The Korma chicken was SO well-spiced and was bursting with flavor. I think it's probably my favorite Indian dish I've ever had. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it before! I'll definitely be back to try a different dish and get another lassi. Yum

Amazing food each time I eat here. Service is nice and the atmosphere is even better. The food is a must and the drinks are great! Check it out!

First time here and definitely worth a second visit. Food was great and service matched. It's located in the back of a plaza limiting its traffic. Not a bad ambiance, sits about 50/60 people at max. We went in the evening, no wait time. Pro tip: check out their menu and ask for recommendations.

Probably the best Persian food in Augusta. It's not cheap so don't expect a lunch price. I'd definitely go there again

Despite a few menu alterations on their part, I got some interesting food. The place is listed as Pakastani, so I ordered things that seemed distinctively regional. My paneer chili delivered a delicious Indo-Chinese spice note and enough chili to clear my sinuses. The amount of actual paneer was not huge, but neither was the price, so I ended up just eating it all at once (unusual for me to finish an entire entree of that heavy stuff). The way they do a samosa chaat is a little bit drier and tangier than most, which does feel more like the style one gets in Pakistani places. It was satisfying, though the styrofoam container struggled to hold the liquid a bit. Of the numerous Indian restaurants in the area, I doubt this one will blow away all the others, but it was distinctive, fresh, and convenient. They gave me a loyalty card, and I'll probably come back.

First and last time. We had the Saag Paneer and Baigan Bertha (eggplant) as well as veggie…read moresamosas and nan. The samosas were fantastic! The naan was gummy and flavorless. Both main dishes had limited depth of flavor without the craveable layers of Indian spices that culinary dreams are made of. Both tasted freshly made and not stewed for hours, which would have provided the depth. Service/owner was perfectly nice. And the prices were half of the nearby competitors. Give Lahore a try! May be perfectly fine for most, especially as an introductory Indian food experience. Where's the heat?

Our waitress was so sweet and friendly, she really made it enjoyable. Definitely recommend the Butter Chicken, I got it medium and it was just the right amount of spice. I love that the garlic naan/roti actually had garlic pieces, instead of it being like a garlic butter. The tea is good as well. No pics, but trust it is very tasty!

I was really excited about this place (based on reviews) and had high expectations. However, as the…read morenight went on the excitement turned to frustration and eventually disappointment. Before we decided to head to the restaurant I had my wife call for wait times and availability. They made it clear that there wasn't any wait time and we would be seated soon after arriving. We arrived under 10 minutes from the phone call and had 2 parties that had already been waiting in front of us. I don't mind the wait just don't be dishonest when we ask. After 15-20 minutes we are finally seated. It's cozy and intimate location but enough space where you don't feel too close to anyone or can hear their conversations. We got the menus and noticed that there was a price increase of +$5 on EVERYTHING on the menu compared to their website menu. We chose this location with cost, reviews and distance in mind and if they had price increases they need to update their website. Either way we decided to order drinks and entrees at the same time in hopes to speed up the process. Sadly it didn't make a difference, we still waited over half an hour for our food to hit the table. I would've gave more of a pass on the wait time but half the restaurant was already eating and our food came out at the exact same time as 2 other tables. The workflow doesn't look to be efficient. The food was great, bold and packed with tons of flavor. The spice was about where you wanted for a medium level heat and I was very satisfied with it. My wife's dish on the other hand was very spicy for a mild. She's very sensitive to spice but after tasting it myself I believe they added more than what we ordered. The Naan was great, the butter and garlic was very balanced and was the highlight of the meal. The rice wasn't on par with the rest of the meal and wasn't worth the price (more on that later). After we finished we waited 10 or so minutes to get the tab and when we finally did we didn't get an itemized receipt on our meal. We thought it was strange considering that meal ended up being $54 and we knew there was no way it should've been for than $45 or so. They charged us a technology fee which we never had an option to pay cash? They just stuck the tap to pay in front of us.. but the worst part is that they charged $5.50 for medium rice. THERE IS NO LOCAL COMPETITION THAT CHARGES FOR RICE. I've been to other places and haven't had this issue, even in Aiken, SC. If you are going to charge for rice please say so. Transparency isn't their strong suit here and I can't imagine I can justify the cost of going again. To be clear, the staff is very nice and respectful when you talk to them and when they check on you BUT this is a real issue when it comes to customer service. Update your menu prices and be transparent on what you are charging people.
