    Beef samosas

Not a bad little place. I was a little worried at first, because this place is inside a gas station. The first time I tried to come here, it was around 10:40 and they were still closed. I made sure to come early afternoon. When I walked in I wasn't sure if they were open or not, because nobody was behind the counter. Apparently the owners run both the Substation and the Tasty Tikka, so it took them a minute to notice me. The menu is a bit limited, but that's to be expected with the amount of space that they have. I ordered 2 samosas and a chicken tikka bowl. Everything turned out wonderful and had that authentic flavor and heat. Outside of the initial wait, which wasn't too long, I really enjoyed this discovery.

This quickly became one of my go to lunch spots. I love Indian food, but when I'm craving it for lunch it is often inaccessible due to price and distance from my job. Tasty Tikka has stepped in and made that a problem of the past. The first time I came here they were offering a sample platter, which was a little bit of everything for $7. I'm not sure what everything was called, but it was all delicious. My favorite items were the chickpea curry, chicken tikka masala, and chicken briyani. Everything is on the mild side of the heat index to appeal to multiple palates. Recently I've started picking up a couple of samosas when I get a sub from Sub Station. I've had the vegetable and beef samosas and both are excellent. The samosas also seem to be a hit, because they are often sold out by the time I get there.

Good food that was very fresh and authentic. I didn't get to try the naan but it looked amazing. I can't wait to try more!

Great Indian food! Stopped here for lunch and had never been before. Service was fast and friendly…read moreand ordering was easy. The food was very good but the spice levels were a little off. We ordered a chicken biryani at 2/5 that was a perfect spicy but my lamb tikka masala was very mild (ordered a 4/5). My only other complaint is the chicken which seemed to be chicken breast instead of thighs. While it was still good, using thighs would have been much more tender. Overall great place, average dish is $15-17 and enough for 1 adult. I'll be back to try some more dishes!

It came is spice levels: baby mild, mild, medium, spicy, very spicy. I got the mild because I do like my gobi manchurian to have some spice. That said, their mild is more like a heavily medium from what I'm accustomed to. I enjoyed it but just a note--if you like things to have only a slight kick, I'd go for the baby mild. For my main, I got their malai kofta. It closer to a light medium when ordering it mild but again, no problem with that. For the dish itself I found dumplings to be a bit too mushy and the overall flavor was a bit lacking for me. For my bread, I got the garlic naan. It was excellent! Covered in chopped garlic and glistening with butter--it was indulgent and delicious. Everything was perfectly packaged (no leaking!) and came piping hot! And, the servings were robust so I have fully half leftover for another dinner. Get to it!

Portions were very small for what we paid. Only one table in restaurant so definitely get it for takeout. Did not look like a restaurant from the outside or the inside. One naan bread for $4 caught me off guard, especially when we were ordering 2. Also in the picture you can see for the butter chicken it was maybe 4-5 pieces in the sauce which wasn't enough for the cost. Still everything was delicious though and I would consider returning if prices were lower.

From the moment we walked in, the rich aromas set the tone for what turned out to be a delicious dining experience. We started with the vegetable samosas and were exceptional. They were crisp, well-spiced, and paired perfectly with a tamarind sauce that was bursting with flavor. The garlic naan was crispy, and fresh out of the oven, and easily some of the best I've ever had. For our mains, I had the Paneer Butter Masala, and my husband ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. Both dishes were incredibly fresh and full of rich, balanced spices. The paneer was tender and the sauce was creamy with just the right hint of sweetness. My husband's dish had that classic smoky depth you hope for with tikka masala, and he loved every bite. The only drawback was the water situation--served from a plastic bottle with no ice, which felt out of place for a sit-down dinner experience. It didn't match the vibe. That said, the food more than made up for it. We'll definitely be back soon.
