Chicken Tikka Masala
Valerie S.

This little restaurant was pretty busy and understaffed when we visited. Even though, we had a nice dining experience. Food is top notch, but servings are not as much as other Indian restaurants I've been to with the exception of their bihrani dishes! This small restaurant is quaint with limited seating, so make reservations or get here early.

The feel of this restaurant was very serene. With only one waiter serving everyone when we got there, he moved swiftly. He was up front about our possible wait time due to online orders which we appreciated. The food tasted delicious once received. It had the perfect amount of heat, spice, and ample flavor. I am thankful that after years of visiting, it still has the same great taste. Will definitely come back.

The food was amazing! It was spicy and tender and beautiful! The service was great, our waters were always full and the staff was really kind when we added a to-go order in the middle of the rush. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, it feels warm and welcoming and private even in a room of people.

Butter Chicken

Had curry hut the other day with some friends. I was primarily looking for some northern indian style food since the places I've had here such as persis/namaste seemed to specialize in more south indian style foods. I ordered the butter chicken, lamb korma, goat biryani, saag paneer along with some naan Lamb korma (4/5): I always enjoy lamb korma and this one was solid. Decently creamy with a slight sweetness. I like that korma is mild with a subtle amount of nutty flavor, and there were a decent amount of lamb chunks Butter chicken (3/5): The butter chicken was thick here and definitely had a kick to it. They were also generous with the amount of chicken pieces here although the pieces could have been a bit more tender. My one issue I had with this dish was that the sauce was super sweet compared to any butter chicken I've had in Houston or other cities. Not sure if it was a batch issue but it was like a normal butter chicken with an extra spoon or two of sugar. I would probably order a different curry in the future. Saag paneer (4/5): Saag paneer is always a nice basic side when eating Indian food with a larger group. Plenty of paneer chunks and mild in flavor, a safe go to as a vegetarian curry. Goat biryani (4/5): Great biryani, nicely fragrant and like the other dishes in curry hut, a strong kick to it. Aagin with a decent amount of goat chunks and a nice changeup from the curry dishes. The yogurt helps with subduing some of the kick and you can probably ask for mild for this dish or any other ones if spice is a concern. The naan we ordered were decent in portion and puffy, although they could have been a bit more buttery. Overall a solid spot that definitely scratches the itch for Indian food. Prices were fair as well and service was solid. Would return if craving it and try some other curries.

Chili chicken

This place is very cozy and comfortable on the inside with plenty of tables for a variety of party sizes. The menu is massive with tons of options that make it hard to order, but I decided to get the chili chicken and it was spicy but not too spicy and it had a lot of flavor. My wife got the butter chicken which was my 2nd option but we could share between the 2. The chicken was very flavorful and the sauce paired great with the garlic naan bread we got. We also got the chili naan but it is not like the chili used in the chili chicken, just small green chilis which was kind of disappointing. The staff was great and very helpful with picking out dishes based on what type of food you were looking for as well as describing some of the more unusual entries not seen at most restaurants. This place is not a fountain drink type place and uses bottles, so refills will likely cost extra but I didn't get another to find out. Great atmosphere and good food, hit the spot for sure and will likely be back to try some other tasty dishes.

The food flavors and presentation are beautiful. They are served in traditional serving ware and the spices and ingredients they use are fantastic. However, the restaurant is extremely small with maybe a dozen tables. So if you're looking for a quaint atmosphere, this one is perfect. You're looking for a larger restaurant not so much. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food, although it was served piping hot and full of flavor. During our meal, they brought two more baskets of bread to our table, even though we did not order them, so I thought it was going to be comped. I found out later when I got the bill that we actually were charged for the additional baskets of bread if I've known that I would've sent them back because we had way too much for our table. However, after the meal we were to pay with credit card and they handed me the credit card machine asking how much tip I wanted to put on the meal. All I saw was the total, and I felt that the total was a little high. I proceeded to add 18% tip and asked for a receipt and they said they did not have paper copies that I could either be emailed or text to me. I chose the email option when I looked at the categorized receipt when I got in the car, I saw where there was a technology fee of almost 6 dollars and 18 percent service fee added to my total. Also, we were charged for the extra bread and then they asked for a tip on top of that. So it seems like I paid 36% tip. when meals on average are $18-$20 at a restaurant and then there's a service fee plus technology fee plus other amounts you weren't expecting it adds up extremely fast. For five of us to eat four entrées, a soup, all waters, one fruit juice, and the four bread baskets of which we only ordered two it was $185 total complete payment . I don't know what the service fee was for, but that should've covered the tip. I could not see the service fee either when I went to pay because they only showed the final price and asked me how much tip I wanted to add to the total. As much as I love an experience. I still am a little upset that my total bill was about $45 more than it should have been, but I didn't realize it until I had left.

Aloo tikki chaat

It really does look like a hut, but while the parking lot could use some resurfacing, the place is pretty solid and well-decorated on the inside. My ginger tea was fine, but I was a bit miffed that I asked for water with it and didn't get any. The okra I ended up with was a really fantastic dry fry with little spices and herbs, but I ended up having to wait for a while before someone circled back around with water. This was recognized as an issue and the owner offered me a free dessert (which I simply didn't have room for). My aloo tikki chaat had a lot of fresh veggies on top, but the tikki itself wasn't warm and there wasn't an enormous amount of it under there. Oddly, when I asked about their dosa I was originally told they didn't have it, but then on follow up with the owner I was told that they didn't have proper equipment or a South Indian expert chef so they couldn't make a real dosa, they just do little ones. He didn't want to give me anything I wouldn't like, to which I say fair enough, but why bother having it on the menu at all if you don't believe in it? A few tew many hiccups for a five-star review from me, but there was certainly enough quality here for me to want to come back.

This has the chicken korma in it and garlic naan and the same meal my fiancé gets each time.

Curry Hut is a staple in our house! Me and my fiancé go here all the time and every time the food is amazing. You can choose your spice level on most dishes (I always get mild and he gets the spiciest) so it's amazing for those who don't live the spice life like myself. The owner is wonderful and remembers us each time we come in and greets us like we are close friends or family. The atmosphere is amazing with the tiny decorations and soft lighting. This is a 100% recommend to anyone I meet.

Versus how much it actually cost for added protein. You're telling me Tofu cost more? LOL
Chops P.

Maybe I should looked through these reviews prior to eating here. For those of you reading, THE MOST RECENT REVIEWS HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE. The average rating is based on the amount of ratings in this past year. These guys are swindles, charging me an extra $3.80 for protein? Look at the picture that I provided, it's my receipt vs the cost for added protein on their website. Stealing $1 per order throughout the day can make a huge difference. Their service is absolutely aggressive, they have a lot of demands from customers & if you keep this up, someone else isn't going to be so calm & react differently. Not worth the tip either, I'm sorry. Also, manager scolding your employee in front of the whole restaurant is embarrassing. Clearly just aggressive management. Doesn't make you look any better, you're the manager here & that's how you treat employees? That's embarrassing. Highly recommend a new shift in staff or at least service. For the amount of food you receive for what you pay for, you're better off going to a different Indian cuisine. Service took 40 minutes for me to receive my food. My sister's food was just sitting there & it's been ready & we got her food 50 minutes later.

This was a surprisingly good place for Indian food in Augusta! The chef was super sweet and accommodating- he explained everything on the menu in detail and was able to make great recommendations. The food was also great for Augusta, and was brought out quickly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick Indian bite in the city!

This place is really just a takeout, with a front area with a table or two if you really want to…read morestay. I was promised freshly made food, and I received it. Despite a few menu alterations on their part, I got some interesting food. The place is listed as Pakastani, so I ordered things that seemed distinctively regional. My paneer chili delivered a delicious Indo-Chinese spice note and enough chili to clear my sinuses. The amount of actual paneer was not huge, but neither was the price, so I ended up just eating it all at once (unusual for me to finish an entire entree of that heavy stuff). The way they do a samosa chaat is a little bit drier and tangier than most, which does feel more like the style one gets in Pakistani places. It was satisfying, though the styrofoam container struggled to hold the liquid a bit. Of the numerous Indian restaurants in the area, I doubt this one will blow away all the others, but it was distinctive, fresh, and convenient. They gave me a loyalty card, and I'll probably come back.

First and last time. We had the Saag Paneer and Baigan Bertha (eggplant) as well as veggie…read moresamosas and nan. The samosas were fantastic! The naan was gummy and flavorless. Both main dishes had limited depth of flavor without the craveable layers of Indian spices that culinary dreams are made of. Both tasted freshly made and not stewed for hours, which would have provided the depth. Service/owner was perfectly nice. And the prices were half of the nearby competitors. Give Lahore a try! May be perfectly fine for most, especially as an introductory Indian food experience. Where's the heat?
