First, I made my initial request for a quote regarding the garage door not opening and explained the spring, coil, and cables were brand new and replaced last year 2025. Fran was quick to respond here on Yelp and provided an eta for an available tech in the area. Fran also confirmed my home address and contact information to share with her tech, Shefi. Shefi arrived at my home and provided a detailed explanation regarding his process of assessing the current garage door situation, asked lots of questions regarding the previous repair, and conducted a comparative analysis of our other garage door that was properly functioning. Shefi provided an initial estimate based on the information and details I shared. I agreed that is was a fair, reasonable, and market rate pricing for the work that needed to be done to fix the issue. Next, Shefi got to work removing the cables, analyzing the coil, inspecting the metal frames, track alignment, drums, and torsion tube. He discovered the torsion tube was badly damaged by the previous repair company last year. Shefi offered multiple options and solutions to replace the torsion tube, cut the torsion tube, or keep the existing tube but risk having him return and repair it again in the near future. We decided the best option was to cut the existing torsion tube and adjust as needed to reduce cost and still extend the life of the torsion tube until full replacement was needed at a later date. Once the work was completed, Shefi provided a detailed explanation and walk-through of all the sections of the garage door that needed work. He also took the time to perform a complete maintenance and tune-up, coil tension adjustment, lubrication of joints, cables, track alignment, spring alignment, rewire safety sensors (if needed), and door balance. Shefi also sent a detailed summary with invoice to my email address attached as a PDF file. He and Fran provided a 1 year warranty on labor for all the work completed. They also provided an additional warranty option for parts: springs, cables, drums, end bearings, if needed. Finally, I mentioned I was looking to replace the 20-30 year old garage doors in the near future. Shefi offered to take pictures and measurements of both doors and his team would send me free estimates for the work, materials, and style for the replacement garage doors in my inbox to review. I appreciate the Instant Garage Door Repair Team, their true white glove service, customer support, attention to detail, knowledge, and expertise.
