We have been going to Dave's since they first opened. We love the food and the atmosphere. We normally just get our food to go, but every once in a while we'll eat inside...honestly it's to watch people do the Zipper Ripper Challenge. Those are SO much fun to watch. I order jalapeño cheddar burger, which did not disappoint. It wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon, so the burger came out fast, but fresh and hot. The jalapeños were also fresh and hot, not the pickled vinagery kind. I also ordered the sweet potato fries, which I highly recommend. They are just crisp enough and not mushy. I'm not from the Waco area, was only driving through at lunch time, but I would stop here the next time I'm driving through just to get me another batch of those chips. A small but nice and clean restaurant in Bellmead that has great burgers. The option of visiting the food truck is great and convenient to Waco. The hamburgers are good sized and the fries are quite good as well. The options for specialized sodas set the place apart with options like coconut. We were in the area for a college visit and found this place. While the burgers are great, the customer service was exceptional. The woman behind the counter was patient when I could not decide on a burger or chopped beef. I chose the burger... but she came by to check on us and she brought me a sampling of chopped beef. I saw that these guys made the cover of the Waco Today magazine for "Waco Knows Burgers", so we decided to stop, and it was definitely worth it. This is a true hand made burger with fresh cut fries. When I was a TSTC student I was a huge fan of Dave's back when they were in the tiny building. Sure it was cramped but the food made up for it. Business seemed to be going great since then they've remodeled, heavily expanded, and hired more employees that treat you good. The hours extend on into the night so that's nice too. I enjoy the new environment that seems to evoke a barn or a auto repair shop converted into a burger joint. The burgers taste great, just like I remember them. I would have given 4 stars for the new fries being heavy on grease and salt but they responded to my message on Facebook almost immediately saying they'll work to fix it and offered me free fries. Although the building is larger and made to look like a national chain restaurant it's still a great place to eat that still sincerely cares about their customers. read more

Dave's Burger Barn's new homemade fries are amazing, just like their homemade chips. The addition of sweet potato fries also adds great variety to the menu. I continue to favor the double meet cheeseburger, as I cannot get enough of their delicious homemade burgers. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. I visit the place at least once a week, I cannot get enough. I recommend this place for families and people of all ages for a good hearty meal. :) I look forward to the expansion of the restaurant! The worst lunch experience to date! This was my first and last visit to Dave's burger barn! The girl at the counter did nothing to resolve the issues with burnt onion rings, over cooked fries and no tomatoes on our hamburgers...which were dry, not juicy. All of the guest around us had golden fries and onion rings...not dark brown burnt sides! Very poor quality!!! read more

there are lots of good burger places in waco, this is one of the best i have tried. we ate there for the first time and everything was great. they have outside seating that is shaded. the burgers were really good, the buns were crispy and buttery and not soggy. good cheese and toppings. the tater tots were amazing - so crispy. they have dublin dr pepper, the cashier claimed it was one of only 2 places in waco to have it, which isnt true, but its still good. everyone was friendly, the food came out quick. i can't wait to eat here again. read more

uhmazing little burger joint in the suburbs of waco. i dont know what they put on their fries, but its next to godliness. juicy and fresh burgers, and i still have dreams about the french fries 2 months later... you order at a counter off to the left when you first walk in, get a number, then grab a seat. it really is in an old looking barn, but its actually a clean little joint with sports on all the tvs (baylor is down the highway). definately a must stop if youre in town or even driving through. we stopped on our way to dallas from austin and id make it a point to find something to do in waco just to be able to eat here again. read more

On way to Dallas from College Station and Dave's is in Waco halfway. Good reviews on yelp so we decided to stop. Had a double with jalapeños and an egg. Egg was a great addition. Pretty darn good burger! This is a great place to stop if you're traveling South on I-35 (we were road trippin' from Dallas back to Austin). It's right off the highway and way better than the typical fast food burger. Plus, there's a large field and playground if your kids need to stretch their legs. read more

We stopped by on our way through Waco. We ordered chicken fried steak sandwiches, fries, onion rings and ice cream. The chicken fried steak was really very tasty. The meat was tender, nicely spiced and well cooked. The portion was huge. The fries are an acquired taste - they are seasoned with sugar, salt and pepper.
