We had a problem with hard water stains on the walls and floor of our shower. One wall and the floor were a dark grey slate. Two walls were ceramic tile, while the remaining wall was glass. I'd been able to keep the glass clean, but the tile and slate surfaces, as well as the grout, had substantial hard water stains two years after remodelling. Dave gave me a quote within a week after my call after visiting my home. Within 2 weeks the job was done. All the stains were removed and the surfaces were resealed. It looks great now and though it wasn't cheap to get it done, I am very happy with the end result. Title: Done Right with Excellence I hired David and the people at ESPP during the remodel of my master bathroom, laundry room, and guest bathroom. At the beginning of the project David helped me in the selection of the materials, and we went with porcelain tile for the floors and tub & shower surrounds. For the shower pan, we went with river rock, and for the bath tub with went with cast iron, as David explained that cast iron is the best for the life of the tile. David even helped me in the selection of my counter top material and vessel sink. He also taught me the importance of proper sealing of rock & how to select porcelain that isn't slippery. He made sure the slope of the shower pan was correct, and came out to my home to look at the job after his men did the work with each project. ALL of his workers are friendly, prompt, and great communicators. They helped to create a beautiful bathroom environment. I could go on and on about the rest of the details about the project, but I won't write a novel. I'll just summarize by saying that David really knows his stuff. He has been around for a long time and knows the kinds of materials that fail over time and what installation methods last the longest. He will not do the job unless it's done the right way. David is also concerned about mold growth in the home; he was always telling me ways to avoid it. He also will make sure that you know how to take care of your home, i.e. clean and care for your surfaces. He also sells products that can help with the cleaning, and the products are all environmentally friendly and really do work. David's office assistant is incredibly knowledgeable. Communication through the office is excellent, especially through e-mails. The pricing is excellent for the quality of work being done. I felt safe knowing that he has been in the business for so long and is a leader in the field of marble and tile. Let me say one more, quick thing. While this project had delays due to materials not being ready at the tile shop, David's tiler Erick came to my home on a Sunday to finish the job. I told him to not worry about it and do finish up on a weekday so he could be with his family. Well, I was really glad he came that Sunday because less than 12 hours later my 4th child was born. "Bait and Switch" comes to mind. Dave (a.k.a. Dave the Marble Guy) is very friendly, but I was wildly disappointed. I sent Dave an email with a photo of the cracks in my granite, and measurements. Dave quoted my $275 via email and asked me to schedule him to come on site through ESP. I reached out to ESP and scheduled a date/ time for Dave to come to my home. It turns out, his visit was to re-estimate the project. He then quoted me a cost of $1825 for the exact same work I'd emailed previously. This is disappointing, to say the least. I followed up with outreach to Dave and to ESP, noting the delta between Dave's original email quote and the final quote. Neither Dave nor ESP returned my emails, nor my phone call. read more

Though not a huge selection of products, the ones that they do sell are quality and I would not doubt that they use them as well. Lately, we were on a job and had ran out of a product. Like others, we never received a reply of any kind after having Dave come out to give us a quote on a large job of stone sealing. He promised a quote the following week, and after two weeks I called the office where they took a message. No reply to the message, so I sent an email. No reply to the email either. Very unprofessional. Update - Dave finally called just to leave a voice mail telling me he didn't respond because he didn't want the job, hoped I would just disappear, and blame me for leaving the review and affecting his rating (he should blame his own behavior). If he didn't want the job, all he had to do was just say so, professionally. His behavior is very unprofessional. I can't speak to their work because they never came out to look at my marble floor and asses but I spoke with Estella, the Office Manger, who told me to email photos of my small bathroom floor. She told me their jobs are a $650 minimum and I received an estimate that was 3x what I actually paid for the job to get done and it was not extremely damaged like they claimed it look like from the photos! Dave the Marble Guy was significantly more than all the other bids I received! Hi. Be leery of this guy. He makes promises and doesn't keep them. His team did some sloppy grout work and he knew it. Several years later I got bids from two other tile companies to fix it and they both said no, go back to this guy and make him do it right or give you your money back. I called and Dave came to my home and had lousy excuses about the grout, something about not being able to match colors, in other words just a bunch of BS. We recently had David Bonasera's company ESP come to our house to repair a crack in the marble around our sink. Apparently, this is a VERY COMMON occurrence because of the way that the marble was originally installed. Realize that I had made calls to a number of marble companies. ESP is the ONLY company I found that repairs cracks in marble. If the metric that one uses to gauge happiness upon completion of the job is satisfaction with the completed work, then look no further than ESP. My wife and I are COMPLETELY satisfied with the job that Jason from ESP did. The marble "before" and "after" looks unbelievable. The only issue we had is that they showed up several hours late for our original estimate and about an hour late for the repairs appointment. But if your main criteria is satisfaction with the completed work (and that is my ONLY metric), then ESP is your company. The price that ESP charges to make repairs may seem high. But compared to the costs of replacing the marble around the sink, their costs are actually small. And Jason spent close to 7 hours making the repairs to our marble. We cannot say enough good things about our satisfaction with the work that ESP (and Jason) did to repair the crack in our marble. read more

Dave came out to do the estimate. He explained everything we needed to do and pointed out things I hadn't noticed (especially living with it for a few years) and everything now looks like new!! These guys are great. I had a three day job - mostly deferred maintenance but some tile replacement, etc. So efficient and explained everything they were doing. I had the awesome team of Andrew and Ramon, they did a great job. My bathroom marble was stained and scratched. They got EVERY mark/imperfection out and now it looks like new ! I would definitely recommend them. Dave and his team do amazing work - not the least expensive mind you, but a warranty like no other...so if you are debating - don't. These guys are GREAT !!!! Just a heads up: if they try to sell you product, be sure they get the order right. We've been very happy with ESP and will be using them again. They cleaned and sealed all our granite and marble countertops and all our slate floors. They also repaired some of our grout that was cracked. Dave's guys are very nice and did a fantastic job with that work. They also replaced some of the tile in our shower because we were having a new shower door and enclosure installed. The work looked great, but the shower door guys said the slope was wrong. We called Dave and he came out that evening to check. He said "yep, that's not right" and had all that tile taken out and replaced (with the correct slope) no problem. They even had to find tile to match and managed to do that too. Years ago a previous contractor did a miserable job with our kitchen tile flooring finally resulting in loose tiles and crumbling grout. Unrelated, we also had a marble counter top that needed stabilizing and seam repair. Dave arrived exactly on time for his repairs assessment. Due to his wealth of experience he quickly diagnosed the issues and provided alternate solutions. And I learned the golf ball trick! The following day I received a quote which I accepted and scheduled a repair date with Lisa, the office manager. Martin (tile setter and grouter extraordinaire) arrived exactly on time and spent the first day undoing the last tile guy's "workmanship". Following a couple days wait while materials set, Martin was back (on time) with Jose and together they finished the floor and repaired the counter top perfectly. This team of professionals is truly as good as it gets. We have travertine flooring in our kitchen and adjacent rooms and had a few mishaps with dropping a bottle or two of very acidic cranberry juice onto them. The results of such mishaps was that the travertine got dramatically "etched" by the acid and looked simply horrible. I thought I had ruined my floors! I called David of ESPP (a true expert in the arena of stone, how to care for it and issues to consider) and he came over to do an assessment of what I thought extensive damage. He assured me it would be an easy job to make the travertine like new and not to worry. Later in the week, Branden and Andrew came over to diamond grind and seal the floors. Not only was all the etching gone (miraculous!), but the floors look better than they did new! We could not be happier with the service, the quality of the work, and the manner in which this company operates. We put Calcutta Oro Marble on our kitchen counters and it is stunning. We were so nervous about the beautiful marble being ruined by stains and etching. We looked at several different sealing applications and someone suggested Dave the Marble Guy. We called Dave at ESP. He came out and gave us a bid for TuffSkin. He gave us options, suggestions, advise and explained the process etc,. We decided to try it and are so happy with the results. It has been one year since Dave installed the Tuffskin and our counter tops still look like new. It is so wonderful, nothing stains our counter tops! No red wine stains and no etching! We love it so much that we had a custom marble table made for our new banquette area. Today Dave and his team applied TuffSkin to the table and you can't even tell that it is there!
