Alex and his team at Magnum Tile were an absolute pleasure to work with and we are so pleased with the end result. We contracted Magnum for master bathroom demolition, floor tile installation and full shower installation (layout, waterproofing, bench, niche, tile, & grout). Overall planning/coordination/communication: From the initial call, it was a breeze to work with the Magnum team. Alex and I chatted on the phone a few times about our project. I sent some pictures of the desired end result and I explained that we wanted the project to go through city permitting due to HOA requirements. Alex was very attentive to the detail and even sent a few pictures of similar projects. We moved forward with having Magnum come out for estimates. The turnaround for estimates was on time as promised. (This was big for me given that many contractors never even sent estimates after an in-home visit!) Similar to the estimates, once we decided to move forward, Alex was 100% transparent about the process/schedule, communicative and a breeze to work with. Setup/Cleanliness: The Magnum team did a stellar job of setting up the house so that there was minimal debris or dust out of the bathroom itself. We have two sets of stairs and they used high quality material to protect the flooring and carpet. This stayed intact throughout the duration of the project from demo to completion and each evening they took the time to vacuum and clean to ensure no debris would be trailed to the rest of the house. Quality of work (demo, waterproofing, tile, grout, etc): To put it simply, we had ~5 companies come in for shower door estimates; within two minutes of checking measurements and for levelness, they all commented on the quality of the work or that the leveling was better than other jobs they've seen. Additionally, the city permit inspections were a breeze and passed with flying colors. The Magnum team was attentive to detail and diligent with waterproofing process/techniques. Each tile cut and placed is precise, smooth and straight. They are also equipped and comfortable working with different types of tile/stone. The team totally brought our design to life which included making our shower bigger and adding a bench and niche. I hired Alex to remove a strip of mosaic tile (recently installed) and replace with porcelain to match the rest of the tub surround. I also had Alex remove and replace 3 badly misaligned tiles. Then to grout and silicone caulk the tiles on the bath surround and floor. Basically I need Alex to fix mistakes by a previous contractor. Alex and his helper were careful removing tiles. They did a fantastic job to make it look right. All finished in a day. Plus his price was very reasonable. I was so happy I gave him a nice tip. He really bailed me out of a bad situation and I was so thankful. If you need any tile work I highly recommend you call Magnum tile. read more

It's not only the quality of the work, but also the whole experience through project that was memorable. Construction projects are often stressful, but I can never stress enough how important it is to have someone like Alex to take in charge. I admire how he conducts his business with trust, respect, and professionalism. Never had an issue along the process, and even if there were one, the team would address them responsibly. We had some requests that was slightly out of the norm, but Magnum tile was the only one to accommodate it by taking test samples. I also prefer how they persist on the traditional (and right) way of floating the surfaces instead of using concrete boards. Alex and his crew did an amazing job on a tight schedule with our house. He installed 10''x50'' wood tile through the whole house. We had him come back and do the baseboards as well. One of his crew scratched the tile during the baseboard install. Alex returned the following day to remove and replace the tile that had been scratched. I waited a few months to write the review just to be sure everything was good and I didnt find any issues. We hired Magnum Tile for a full bathroom remodel. Alex and his team demoed/removed existing tile and carpet, and installed new tile on the floors, walls, and shower pan/curb. We had an excellent experience and plan to hire them again for future work. We were particularly impressed by: 1. Competitive yet fair pricing. We received a few quotes, and Magnum Tile's seemed the most fair and representative of the work needed (vs large markups on the others) 2. Knowledgeable and great communication. We had some tricky aspects (e.g., weird corners, some oddly sized tiles) and Alex talked us through our options throughout the project, and made recommendations to account for issues while maintaining high quality work. He checked in with us regularly, was super responsive, and thoroughly answered all of our questions. 3. Went above and beyond to correct issues. When we noticed inconsistencies in the color of the grout (not Magnum Tile's fault), Alex suggested multiple steps his team would take to address the issue. His team came out the next day, and when the first solution did not work, they returned the following day and completely redid the grout with a new product that turned out great. Alex then proactively followed up with us 48 hours later to confirm that the new grout was consistent and that we were happy with the outcome. 4. Cleanliness and COVID safety. Prior to starting the work, Alex and his team covered our staircase and walkway to the bathroom. Every day they sectioned off the bathroom from our bedroom (which normally flows openly) to protect our bedroom from any dust/debris, and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of every day. The team wore masks and maintained distance from us when in the home. Overall, we were very happy with Magnum Tile, and look forward to hiring them again when we update our remaining bathrooms. read more

Good communication in problem-solving on-site. Where I had a leak in the bathroom, they painted on water proofing above the mortar, which they floated. Installed moisture-rated drywall where the drywall in the bathroom was damaged due to removing the baseboards, at no extra charge. Fair pricing and showed up consistently and on-time. Alex cares about the little details, which was important to me because I notice every little flaw. We just hired Magnum Tile to remove tile backsplash in our kitchen. The quote was reasonable and easy to book an appointment. Showed up right on time. Good guys who are very professional. We will soon be replacing the countertops and refacing the cabinets. They were upfront about possible damage to the sheet rock and took great care to minimize the damage. I can't say enough good things about Alex! We used him to do a kitchen backsplash, kitchen floor and a tricky fireplace. The fireplace had a weird shape and we wanted to remove the hearth completely.
