From the beginning, we were impressed with how knowledgeable and involved Helen the owner was as well as how well she listened to our unique design requirements (color, passthrough countertop to the outside, etc.) and provided her professional recommendation without ever coming off as a sales pitch. We spent hours picking our slabs out at the warehouse and we never felt rushed nor did the people helping move the pieces around ever have anything but a good attitude as they knew how important these countertops are. I recently remodeled my kitchen with the best materials only. I am extremely details oriented and picky about works done inside my house, and usually do most of the detailed work myself . The only part I could not do was the countertop. I had visited many countertop stores and fabricators in the bay area, including Cambria whose sales person had recommended me another fabricator. I chose Artistic Stone for its pricing and reviews and I was very happy with the results. Artistic Stone helped me purchase a 3cm slab from Cambria and fabricated my countertop in its shop with template measurement. The install was precise and the only seam was near invisible. Artistic Stone's name and Yelp reviews honestly freaked me out. It sounded super fancy, their website is super fancy, and they have an active and well-regarded Yelp page. This usually signals to me that a company is probably out of reach for us financially in comparison to smaller businesses without the internet savvy marketing and clientele reviews to yet inflate their prices. My spouse and I went to many countertop companies when searching for slabs of that marble-look quartz, including lesser-reviewed places without internet presence and large box home improvement at stores. We did a lot of research regarding name brands and country of origin for quartz, as well as considered warrantys. One of the most important things to me was the ability to create a singular slab for our peninsula so there's no seam there as well as incredible seaming work so where there unfortunately needed to be some, it would not be horrendous like some examples I have seen. When compared to other independently owned countertop stores, Artistic Stone wasn't the cheapest. There were two other places with cheaper, but they hid their costs in their installation costs instead. **Keep this in mind! Find out labor costs!**. In the end, it only appears as if Artistic Stone costs more than Granite Expo or whatever cheaper stores; when they put in all their installation fees, it all is in the wash. In comparison to large box stores, Home Depot actually came back to us with an equivalent quote but for a Made in US name brand quartz with extended decades+ warranty during their frequent sales. But the problem is that they contract out their installs and there is no way to guarantee their seaming work. Additionally, they were not able to produce a single slab to cover our whole peninsula, and that was an absolute must for us. Perhaps if one got a single-color countertop with no designs, it wouldn't be a big of a deal, but for ours, it was a make or break consideration. Benjamin was the original salesperson to help me pick out the pieces, and Helen helped us another day to get down to the nitty gritty in terms of matching seams from one piece to another. The way their minds conceptualize this all is astonishing; I got dizzy turning my head upside down trying to understand. Now this isn't to say our order came without a hitch, but that was not on Artistic Stone at all. In fact, Helen saved our asses. What really sealed the deal was Artistic Stone's installers. They have incredible staff, and Helen, Samuel, and the overseeing installation/foreman guy (forget his name) were flawless. Our kitchen is upstairs, we have narrow U-shaped stairs and there was no way to safely get the large peninsula piece of quartz that weighs hundreds of pounds with the 6-8 full grown muscle men to hold it. To say I was devastated is an understatement when they said I had to cut it and place a seam, and I just did not accept that since it was one of the main reasons we went with Artistic Stone. So Helen and her staff came by our house twice to figure out options. In the end, Helen helped us hire and coordinate renting a forklift and driver to bring the peninsula piece all in one piece to our kitchen. She took care of it all including calling for multiple quotes. Ya'll. The proof is in the pudding. Check out our photos and videos. I decided to choose StarMark for our new kitchen cabinets after my own research. Artistic Stone is one of the dealers in Bay Area. We bought a home and were in the market for new countertops for our bathroom and kitchen remodel. The fiance and I were set on quartzite and had trouble finding the type of stone countertops when we visited a handful of warehouses in San Jose. Luckily we were referred to Artistic Stone who had had a great selection of quartzite along with quartz as well, which was our backup stone if quartzite was out of our budget. When I stepped in on a Saturday afternoon, I was greeted by the friendly Perla. I fell in love with the Namib Sky quartzite slabs with the bullnose edge and sent off a few photos to my fiance who could not visit the warehouse with me that day. Our salesperson Paradise was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. When I gave her some vague dimensions my contractor had provided me, she instantly knew what sizes I was referring to. She had the warehouse workers pull the three slabs that we liked out to display for us and she also checked on the quality. Unfortunately, two of the slabs had punctures in them that you could totally feel when you ran your fingers over it and we were on a tight schedule so we couldn't wait 3 months for the next shipment. Instead, we found a few slabs of Namib Sky with a mitered edge that we also liked and those ended up working out for us! One of the slabs had a natural fissure which Paradise advised would require special care from our contractor when he cut the stone. We got our quote right away and I easily placed the countertops we wanted on hold until we decided to purchase them. My contractor picked up the slabs so he did all the coordination on that end, but it seems like they had no problem holding onto the slabs for us until our contractor had time to pick up. Overall, our experience with Artistic Stone was great and I would recommend them to anyone looking for pretty quartzite and quartz countertops that you may not find at other stone retailers. read more

I'd give Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath more than 5 stars if I could. They exceeded expectations in every aspect of my project. I found them when I was looking for companies that sold and installed Starmark Cabinetry. Several years ago I had remodeled my kitchen and now I wanted to add pantry cabinets and create a coffee bar in the area that had been my dinette area. And, I wanted to match my existing cabinets. When I began to research if my existing cabinets that were built by Fieldstone Cabinetry were still available I discovered the company had been acquired, and the exact cabinet design I purchased several years ago is now available under both the Starmark and Fieldstone brands, so that expanded my options. After reaching out to the local companies that sold either of these cabinet brands Artistic was the clear winner. Wallace, their Director of Cabinetry, was very responsive and he got back to me quickly. He was very patient as I changed my mind on the cabinet configuration several times. He updated the drawings and providing transparent pricing for multiple iterations and changes. He was at my home when the cabinets were delivered to ensure the order was correct and he was here when the installers began, to ensure the job went smoothly. The process of selecting and installing the countertop was equally efficient. Both the cabinet and countertop installers did an excellent job of protecting my floors and other property throughout their work and they did a great job cleaning up when they were done. Our experience with Artistic Stone started out great with getting a quote the same day to picking out the quartz to putting a deposit and scheduling our demo. Come demo day, my first impression of the vendor was ruined. The demo guys showed up almost 2 hours late with no calls. I called the office 3 times to get a status. The guys finally showed up and started working away. During the demo, the guys took out my sink. I was never informed that my sink would be taken at demo time. I have a 4 Year old that I pack lunch for daily. Not having a sink was not something I planned for. There is a 7-10 day waiting period from demo to install as they work on the template. Once the demo guys completed, they said that they do no repair the backsplash but I had paid for backsplash repair as I was getting new appliances installed the next day. At this point, I was stressed and really upset. I called to talk to the project manager Helen. She was trying to be as helpful as possible with getting things sorted out. She kept saying that it was in our contract that the sink we get removed and that they do not do backsplash repair and wasn't sure why the sales guy charged me. Ultimately, she worked some magic and got a team to come out the next day EARLY to fix my drywall so my appliances could get installed. She also tried to get a team to come install just my sink but was unsuccessful. So we washed dishes in my bathroom sink for the next 10 days. Come installation day, the team arrived at 11:50. Their window was between 10-12. The template for my island was 1 piece! This was epic for us as we were told we would have 2 seams. Artistic Stone went out of their way to make the piece as nice as possible because of the hassle we had demo day. Ultimately, my husband and I are very happy and recommend Artistic stone. Every part of the process of working with Artistic Stone was excellent. Wallace at the store in Mountain View is knowledgeable about all of the counter top products they offer, granite, quartz, quartzite, etc. We visited before the closing on our home was done, but they were very patient with us even though we weren't going to be in the market to "buy" for 2-3 weeks. Once we moved in, we went back to see Wallace and we selected a granite style that we liked. He showed us some pictures of the pre-fab slabs they had available at the store in San Leandro, but encouraged us to go look at them in person. We made the trip to San Leandro, but it was more than worth the drive as we ended up selecting a different color and style. We worked with Helen to find three matching slabs as we were replacing a counter, a peninsula with a new breakfast bar overhang and our bathroom vanity. It took some doing, but she found just the right pieces. Helen drew up our quote and made sure that we understood the demo, template and installation process. We were aware that we would be without a sink as both our kitchen and bathroom were being remodeled. The whole team very patient with us as we changed our mind about a new kitchen sink three times! The team arrived to do the templating as scheduled; Noe and Samuel were very professional and answered all of our questions. We purchased a new slide-in range and Noe went out of his way to be sure he had the correct measurements for the peninsula. Install day went smoothly and the granite looks fantastic. Since the install was done on a Friday, we couldn't schedule the plumber until Monday, so we had an additional weekend without access to our kitchen. After the plumbers installed we noticed a small chip in the edge of the sink by the faucet. We also noticed a couple of other blemishes along the bottom edge of the granite. We talked to Wallace and he sent an email to Dave, the project manager. Dave contacted us the next day and said he would send out a team to take care of the issues. Less than a week later, the repair team came and everything is taken care of--fixed beautifully. We love the new kitchen and couldn't be happier with Artistic Stone's workmanship and customer service. read more

We're preparing to sell a Mountain View rental townhouse that we've owned for a long time, and the realtor convinced us that a partial update to the kitchen would improve the marketability. I searched for "best quartz fabricators in Mountain View" and immediately came upon Artistic Stone. My email requesting a budgetary quote was answered by 2 representatives within minutes on a Saturday afternoon. By Monday I had a quote from Wallace. On Wednesday, I visited their site in San Leandro and met with Helen to choose my prefabricated slabs. Wallace came to the property on Friday to finalize the measurements and make some very helpful suggestions, and 10 days later the beautiful new countertops were installed. The 2-man crew was very hard-working, careful and efficient and cleaned up all the dust and debris. The entire job took 16 days from first contact to installation, and the price was far more economical that completely custom fabrication, since the edge treatment has already been applied to the prefab slabs and some of the trimming and polishing is done on site (including cutting the sink opening). The company and all their personnel were delightful to work with, and the kitchen looks fresh, modern and new, which I'm sure will help us to sell the property quickly. read more

First off, I found what I was looking for only at Artistic Stone. It was literally the last slab and larger than needed; BUT Jesse Collins in the Mountain View showroom and Helen Wen were extremely supportive in making it happen for me. They also scheduled the work in such a way so that I would have at least one bathroom for my use and yet delivered in the shortest possible lead-time. We purchased our granite from and had it installed by Artistic Stone in Mountain View/San Leandro. A friend of ours had highly recommended it and we now highly recommend it to everyone else. We went with prefab which made the granite affordable and we felt that there was an excellent selection from Artistic Stone. We love the granite that we purchased. It has a lot of depth, color and charm. Besides being very competitive with their pricing, what we loved most about Artistic Stone was the service that they provided. We worked most with Maria Herrier but everyone that we spoke with or worked with was amazing and supportive and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better team. They were willing to give us advice even if it wasn't going to help them financially. For instance, they gave us some tips on the current trend for backsplashes and we ended up using less granite than we were going to initially. This didn't necessarily benefit Artistic Stone but they wanted us to be happy with our end result. I thought that was a strong indicator of their integrity. Maria was so kind to us when we walked in that we knew we needed to stay a while and talk with her about our kitchen. Maria is an experienced designer and was able to listen to what we wanted and then make suggestions that guided us to create the kitchen we had always wanted! With her assistance we chose granite (African Bordeaux) and complimentary tile for the back splash. Maria suggested lovely accent tiles to add to our back splash and the result is a beautiful design that compliments the granite counter tops. I shopped around a bit before deciding on Artistic Stone for my granite counter purchase. They were considerably less expensive than the higher end granite warehouses and big-box retailers, but still within the price range of the smaller hole-in-the-wall shops down in Sunnyvale. I had a great experience with Mike Mok at the Mountain View location, but also visited the warehouse in San Leandro to pick out my slab - that was just as good an experience, and pretty fun. They run a tight operation with well educated staff. No one is pushy or overly sales-y. Frankly, I am surprised at how low their prices are given the high level of service. The install went smooth, and my kitchen looks great. Tip: If you buy the sink from them, they can cut the hole before they arrive, which means less dust and a quicker install. read more

Artistic Stone's Mountain View showroom packs in an amazing range of samples and displays, attractively arranged. Maria was very knowledgeable but we encountered two problems: 1. The actual quote we received turned out to be more than DOUBLE the estimate. When we politely expressed surprise, Maria responded defensively, in an angry tone, by saying that the quote was "only" an estimate. Well, yes, but a 100% margin of error is a bit much. Wouldn't it have been more professional to simply admit that you goofed? 2. With a rather high cost on the labor portion (not entirely competitive, relative to some other quality providers), we politely inquired about purchasing the materials only. Our query was ignored. In general, a polite customer query should not be ignored. This, too, is unprofessional and not good business practice. Beyond that, we were originally told that purchasing materials only was an option, which made our question entirely legitimate. Rating: 1.5 stars off for each of the above issues. read more

For most of my clients projects I select the stone, and I had used Artistic once before for a small simple job. It's convenient that they have the granite countertop material in stock and edged. For my own small kitchen I selected Kashmir White. The kitchen looks great, and some incidental damage was repaired cheerfully and professionally by a woodworker. Unfortunately the stone is very porous, with visible fissures throughout after 3 coats of sealer; it fogs or stains readily; the sample I ordered from had almost no fissures. Good to be aware that pre-finished products vary - for a client I would inspect the actual slabs at the yard but of course, the cobblers children go w/o shoes. read more

You are able to pick out the slab(s) of granite that you want installed. And they cut it on site - which leaves a ton of dust but removes the need for someone to template prior to the install. One note - they install the sink for you but aren't able to hook up plumbing so you'll need to do it yourself or get a contractor to do it for you. read more

This is a review of pricing only. I came to Artistic Stone & Tile because I was unhappy with my contractor's pricing for countertop installation. I got a quote from Artistic Stone & Tile to install prefab countertops and it came out to be about $4k -- which was better than my contractor's pricing. BUT -- Artistic Stone & Tile charges a boat load if you need to finish an edge (I needed 66" finished to get an island to the appropriate depth), which is where they get you. I ultimately went elsewhere, and got slabs custom cut and installed for the same price as Artistic Stone & Tile quoted me to install prefab. read more

Artistic is price competitive, they meet their schedule commitments, and the installer was a true artisan, making intricate cuts for what was a difficult installation. I asked as to why Home Depot's so much more and the answer was it's because they have to contract it out. The guy who came out to install has thick European accent, was chatty but a perfectionist who made sure everything was done perfectly, I was ever so grateful, I bought them pizza so they could take a break! ASK&B installed granite with ogee bullnose and very pleased with the whole process. I especially like the fact that we were allowed to change color up to a few days before our scheduled install. They have the most beautiful and unique prefab quartzite, marble, and quartz! My husband looked around everywhere and we didn't want ordinary quartz that you see in most houses today.
