What impressed us about the work was the extreme attention to detail. Prior to finishing, the cabinet parts were prepped (cleaned and sanded) and then primed. Once primed, any nicks, scratches or other surface imperfections were patched and sanded so that the finished surfaces were "as new." Azamat's communication was excellent and he was good about keeping us up to date on the project schedule and materials availability. For our job, Sherwin-Williams commercial/industry finishes were used to excellent results. I am a very "particular" dude - If anything, Azamat's standards exceeded the high bar I set for myself when it comes to such things. Since we were doing a whole-house remodel, we hired a general contractor who also handled the kitchen installation. I'm confident the process would have gone even more smoothly if they had handled the install. Unfortunately, we had already committed to our contractor by that point. One thing that really stood out to us was the pricing. Our contractor was charging us more for the exact same cabinets, which made working directly with Excelle Kitchen an even better value. Anthony Cao, the owner, is super nice, knowledgably and pleasant to work with. They carry a couple major lines of cabinetry. I was able to find the brand that is slightly taller 34.5" that fits our needs (vs the standard 33"). The shop's focused on custom made or semi-custom made cabinetry. With my odd size vanity requirement, they were able to quickly offer a 3 cabinet solution that covered my needs. They will also suggest a couple countertop places to shop for and ordering via Excelle gets you a 10% discount. I visited the shop multiple times and happy to report that the experience has been consistently pleasant. Good coffee, good music, sound advice and they are super patient to let us visualize the colors and styles with different samples. Lead time is reasonable within a week for us and delivery was trouble-free.

She also helped us pick a countertop that matched the cabinets very well, and even gave us advice on the cabinet handles and some of the smaller details that we honestly hadn't thought much about. I did going expecting it would have a better selection of lumber at better prices than Home Depot. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They had a lot of wood suitable for construction but not for woodworking. They really had only one type of plywood with any kind of nice surface. Mostly have OSB, CDX, and only one type with a sanded finish. And that was almost $10 more per sheet than what I could get at Home Depot. No Birch or other quality plywood ether. I did purchase about 4 sheets just to check them and then went to Home Depot and got the remaining 11 sheets I needed. It was less expensive and there was significantly more choice for plywood other than OSB, CDS, etc.

He was courteous, knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help. He made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Unfortunately, our experience with Shawn on the windows and doors side was the complete opposite. He often came across as condescending, seemed distracted and in a rush, and follow-up was poor. Customer service and communication were disappointing, and we were left wondering why someone with that attitude is in a customer-facing role. Based on my experience, I would happily recommend Homer for flooring, but I cannot say the same for the windows and doors department.
