Our experience with Denise at Tileshop was absolutely amazing. She knew the ins and outs of every single tile product they had on the show floor. She was kind, easy to talk to and very creative in helping us find what we needed. read more

Denise Apfelbaum at Tileshop was extremely professional in suggesting tile shapes, colors and designs. The showroom offers many possibilities. Denise has very deep experience, and Tileshop provided me with excellent communications as well as prompt and courteous service. In addition to her impressive expertise, I found Denise to be a most patient and caring individual - rare based on my visits to many other tile shops. Denise even recommended that I visit certain competitors before I finally returned to complete my puchase there. The prices are reasonable, and Tileshop promptly credited my account for an unused bag of grout and for unopened boxes of tile, the latter subject to a restocking charge of 25% which I think is reasonable. read more

We just finished our bathroom remodeling this year. Purchased the "tune" tiles and edges here at tile shop with help with Chandra, she is very professional and thoughtful from the customer's perspective, gave us plenty of sample tiles to match around. At the end, there are NO stocking fee or very limited fee if you return the whole box, they can even take back single piece of tiles, which is amazing comparing to other shops. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends. read more

They have a relatively small selection of tiles but good enough. And the customer service is really good. read more

We just spent a long time here with Denise, and couldn't be happier. Great customer service--listened to our tastes and internalized things, then steered us through the inventory with clear knowledge, making suggestions that were both on-point, but also that stretched us a bit. We ended up settling on something that we both love and are very excited about, and I am certain that we would have walked right by it with a less attentive sales person. (I'll update this review after we actually get delivery of the tile, etc but I fully expect it to be a similarly great experience.) read more

Was not expecting to find a replacement for my 20-year-old tile here, but Greg was able to match it! I am shocked. Greg was very kind and helpful. Will definitely return for my other bathroom remodels. Cheers read more

Kari Nakatsu was a pleasure to work with at the TILESHOP. She corresponded well with my contractor and it felt like she already knew me when I arrived. Kari gave me time to check out her inventory and discuss several potential options. I was still unsure so she allowed me to take my favorite tiles home to look directly in my kitchen. This was helpful as I was able to discuss with my husband to get his feedback. Once I got back to the TILESHOP, she helped me find the grout that matched perfectly. Her team loaded up my car up and I was set for the kitchen backsplash project to commence. Thank you again Kari! read more

I received wonderful assistance from Denise upon entering the store. I explained my needs showing photos of my conctete area where I wanted to cover and photo of my neighbor. I was considering slate, so she kindly explain the pro/con of that material vs. porcelain tiles. Knowing my needs and concern on slipperiness for outdoor use when wet/rain, she explains the grading system. She suggests a few and let me wander about. When I see some tile of interest, she helps look up the specs to ensure they meet the grade for anti-slip i am provided with the specs sheets and samples to take home, so the spousal unit can weigh in. When I called back on my selection, Denise was just as responsive. She asked about other needs such as waterproofing. She helped suggest a grout and color, even asking to remind me on my home's color.Given the $ investment in the tiles themselves, this was extremely helpful (and got me to do more internet research). She also put ne in contact with the installer who does the tile displays( for the shop) to help me get an alternate project quote. Denise and many employees are long time in the business and very knowledgeable. I felt her energy and asked. She says Tileshop is a great place to work. It is owned by a person who has deep relations with tile mfgers in Italy and runs business for who know how long and treats employees like family. Pricing is resaonsble-- I looked on yelp and realize this area has many similar clustered around I went into one competitor who seem too busy to help (rightly as it is weekend). I looked at the tile pricing which is very similar to that of Tileshop. I was already very happy with the service, so similar pricing just makes it comfortable for me to stop searching for "everything." Tileshop has a few locations, The next closest one is in Oakland area. My selection happens to be located at this location. If need be, they can pull from Oakland.. if really custom, obviously more time. read more

My plan was to have porcelain tile installed on our porch. Greg at Tileshop guided me through the process, from helping me choose the proper porch tile, to helping me choose the proper materials like grout, tile spacers, and Schluter. Tileshop has such a lovely collection of tiles. I ended up choosing a beautiful tile imported from Italy. read more

I had driven by Tileshop for many years on my way to work. It was quite a few years before I had a project that required new tile. But when the time came, I went to Tileshop and was very impressed with Greg and the entire team. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Even though I saw a tile design I liked within the first 5 minutes of being in the store, Greg encouraged me to take my time and look at the displays in the store. Sure enough, I chose the tile I had seen in the first 5 minutes! Greg allowed me to take a few sample tiles home to be sure. I chose the porcelain cementine tile in taupe for my hall bathroom, and it is beautiful! Even the contractor who installed the tile loves it! I will be starting a project in the kitchen very soon and will return to Tileshop to order a zillije-inspired tile for my backsplash. read more

The tile shop is the place to shop for all your tile needs. We unfortunately had to redo our bathroom after our first contractor Jireh Construction and Building Maintenance did such a botch job and ruined our bathroom. We hired a company called BBRS (Bathrooms By Remodeling Specialist) and they recommended us to talk to Carlos at the Tile Shop. Carlos and his team were excellent. From their knowledge, to helping us with a design, to helping us pick out all of the little fixtures that go along with the tile, we honestly don't think we could've done it without him and his team. The price was reasonable and the service was impeccable throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend the tile shop for any bathroom or kitchen remodel that you have. And of course if you can ask for Carlos because he will definitely take care of you. I would also highly recommend BBRS for your remodel. Jozef was a saint and his crew were super professional! Thank you all so much for fixing my bathroom and making it a place of serenity! read more

Doing bathroom remodels and needed to select tile. I know NOTHING about tile and no clue as to what was appropriate. My contractor sent me here and it was amazing! Many of the other tile places are kinda snobby or just want to know how much $$$ you are going to spend. But the moment I walked into the Tile Shop, Chandra greeted me pleasantly and the proceeded to explain in detail the best uses for all the different types of tile. She made sure I had samples of every tile I thought might work- which made it easy to go home and see what they looked like. If you are remodeling and plan to use tile, GO TO THE TILE SHOP! Ask for Chandra and it will be a great experience! read more

Our experience selecting and purchasing tile from TileShop was excellent! We needed to replace all of the hard flooring in our home (an Eichler home with a slab foundation and radiant heat), and had decided on porcelain tile. We are especially grateful to Denise and Vidal for their assistance all the way through the process -- from listening to our needs and goals to following up to make sure everything went okay with our finished project. With their guidance we selected and purchased 2100 square feet of 12x24 porcelain tile and had it installed by a skilled professional (Igor of Tile and Trowel). The results are beautiful and durable. We would highly recommend TileShop for your next project, large or small. read more

Amazing service and beautiful tiles from the Tileshop! I came multiple times to figure out the tiles for my bathroom & laundry room project. Denise helped me out during my multiple visits, and she was always very friendly, very informative, and extremely detail oriented. Picking out tiles for a large project can be difficult especially with organizing so many different tile selections. However, Denise really takes the time to help organize and make the entire process much more smooth. She showed me multiple samples and also helped me with choosing grout with patience & expertise. I highly recommend the Tileshop if you are looking for beautiful tiles & excellent service! read more

Went out of their way to help me find the matching tile. Knowledgeable and very nice - with go back for next job

I made a large purchase a year ago at the beginning of my remodel project. I ended up with 9 additional boxes of shower tile which is an outrageous amount. The store manager would not return it as they no longer carried the same shade. Said the measurements must have been my fault and took zero responsibility for their mistake. Would not buy from them again. read more

Can't write enough excellent reviews for Claire and crew. Let me begin with my nightmarish project. We were tasked with trying to find the closest match to Carrera Marble sinks/counters. As anyone with experience would know, you can never find the perfect color match for natural stones because they have so many intricate details and color variations. At the same time, my wife and I are cursed with finding ourselves attracted to unique colors and cool things. We can't just settle for anything "normal" looking. We were already at Porcelanosa across the street and were doing comparative shopping. In came Claire, overhearing our heated argument because my wife was being indecisive... She felt bad for us and instantly offered a showcase to ease the tension. Then Claire worked her magic and made sound judgment in her recommendations. There "is" a sense of purpose to her style and how she captured what we wanted to do. Claire gave us an offer we couldn't refuse! We ended up with purchasing tiles we knew nothing about other than it looked good! Believe me, it wasn't easy to drop down $6K in "stuff." But you know what happened? There's nothing more special than to discover that you made the right call. All of our tiles are Italian Porcelain and they were featured in Houzz. We even went back to do our entire wall as a backsplash for the stainless steel hood. The staff at the Tileshop are extremely professional and personable, including the warehouse guys in the back. I received serious "white glove" service all the way through... It was the "best" find in San Jose and the "best" investment I ever made... Don't let the store front fool you because they "look" small. They carry some serious firepower! read more

We walked in on a Tuesday and had our tile in our home by Wednesday, we felt the prices were very reasonable...actually they were a lot lower then I was anticipating. We had some sample tiles from another tile shop which Denise matched perfectly to our samples. We are in a time crunch (first timers who didn't think a head about supplies etc) and needed tiles sooner rather then later. Denise worked out some options for us and boom we were done. She also gave us some samples without asked :P What both my husband and I liked was the fact that almost everyone asked if we needed help or said hi as soon as they saw us. Picking up the tiles was also a breeze. Just an update, our tile guy opened up one box and it was the wrong color at the very same time Claire called to say they gave us the wrong box =-0 at least they caught their mistake and apologized for it :) I would recommend them to any of my friends read more

Great floor model display and customer service from the staff. This store can get pretty busy on the weekend so it may be a little difficult to get help right away but while you wait there's plenty to look at. I would suggest going on during mid week and making an appointment if you're coming with no clue to what you're looking for. The staff is very knowledgable. I had a terrific experience with the Tile Shop. I am an experienced DIY homeowner, but I when I took on tile for a tub surround, this was my first ever experience installing tile. Everyone at Tile Shop was helpful, friendly, gave me great ideas, they were extremely patient and professional and had a good sense of humor. I went back several times for more tile, for more supplies and for advice. They also gave support with pictures over email and phone calls. Just fantastic! They sell high quality tile at reasonable prices. What they have in the showroom, they stock. I will be going back for tile on my next project and highly recommend them to all. read more

Was looking for one piece of tile to replace one that broke at my house, so I stoped here on the way home from the gym. When I walk in I was immediately greeted and helped right away. I'm sooooooo disappointed in this place. This was my tile shop for multiple jobs and I started using them after being turned off to the larger shops. Their personalized service was always great. However for some reason my contractor ordered too much tile this job and they wouldn't take it back! Unopened boxes that they still have in stock for a repeat customer!!!!!!!! So frustrated. They told me to "sell it online." Um. That's your job. You have the infrastructure for that, not me. That's why I spend thousands of dollars there. For your HELP. It's beyond disappointing and now I'm stuck with a bunch of expensive tile that I guess I need to figure out a way to offload. read more
