I'm currently doing a bathroom remodel. I visited the store and bought several items for the remodel. Told Thom my time line and i want to make sure the tub would be here in a reasonable time frame. He told me a week and a half. I ordered the tub on 2/14 and it's now 3/11 and no tub. The daughter told me a different story that all the tubs from that brand are made to order and take 3-4 weeks! That it's set to ship on 3/13. I don't appreciate being lied to and having a 2 week delay on my remodel! We are a family if 4 down to one bathroom. read more

Phenomenal business - excellent products and GREAT service! First off, as a first-timer, home renovation is super overwhelming. There are so many decisions to make and so many options AND so many stores you can go to...it was hard to know where to start. I'm so, sooo glad I came to Kitchen & Bath Design Center. I'd live to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Gianna who was tirelessly patient with me as I went through the process of finding fixtures, pull handles, faucets, tubs, toilets, etc.. I had no idea what I was doing or what I wanted but Gianna was so patient and so kind. She helped me select and order everything for my two bathrooms and kitchen. She was clear and very communicative about when I could expect my items to be ready for pick-up (an extra challenge with the global supply chain issues). When we hit a snag on just one (of the many) bathroom items I ordered, she and Tom jumped through hoops to accommodate me and fix the problem. So while I hope to never have to renovate anything ever again, if renovations ever are in my future again, I would definitely come back here. I cannot recommend these guys enough! I had a weird customer service interaction today. I frequent the hair salon next door to this store and I am in the market for a new kitchen faucet, a bar faucet, a filtered water faucet and all new hardware for my cabinets. I popped in here to look as I had never been in the store, and it seemed from the exterior like a place with some good options for my needs. I was promptly greeted by the 2 young ladies behind the counter, with a "let us know if you need anything!" So I said I was looking for matte black kitchen faucets. The young lady with blonde hair replied they were all right there in the showroom. Ok. Then I asked about bar faucets. She stated they didn't have any on the showroom floor but could order them. Neither young lady at this point deigned to get up from her chair and accompany me around the showroom or to inquire about my project. I moved on to the cabinet hardware. I circled back around to the brunette young ladies' side of the desk when I didn't see what I was looking for size wise in the displayed products. She was tapping away on her phone (maybe doing business dunno ‍) the other lady got up walked to what I was pointing at and said "we don't have that size" then went back and sat down. Seems to be a generally counterintuitive way to make sales if you are in the business of selling exactly what someone is looking for and you can't possibly make an easy sale. By the way there were zero (0) other customers in the store while I was there. So, I offered a cheery wave and a "thanks for your help!" To which they politely and completely unawares replied "your welcome". 2 stars instead of 1 for having a nice showroom. read more

Oh yeah, I'm a fan. I've only been in so far to buy a toilet, but that was a great experience. Gianna was a big help to us in picking something out and getting it ordered. She was also able to get it delivered in record time! Pricing seems fair. The showroom is small, but seems to have a bit of everything you might need. We're getting ready to do some remodeling and I will absolutely be going back to get help with the other parts I'll be needing on those projects. read more

I guess they don't need business. I walked in at a quiet time (I was the only customer. There were four employees). I was totally ignored. No one asked what I was interested in, or offered assistance. The fact that the employees were loudly complaining about having to be there didn't help. Kitchen remodels are expensive. I was quite pleased with Kitchen & Bath Design Center on Bascom near Moorpark in San Jose. I needed a new toilet. The one that I purchased I just had installed yesterday. It flushes quite well plus it has a look of elegance (if that is fair to say about a toilet). Anyway, the toilet appears to be sturdy and well-constructed. The price was quite reasonable and I appreciate saving a few dollars. They loaded the new toilet into my car's trunk so that I did not take a chance on re-injuring my back. The employee thanked me for my business and I appreciated his gratitude. The Kitchen & Bath showroom is hardly fancy, but that did not bother me. In fact, I figure what expenses they save by not having a super expensive-looking showroom means they can charge a reasonable price, rather than an exorbitant one. In addition to toilets, Kitchen & Bath sells cabinets, plumbing, lights, bathtubs, counter tops, sinks, and shower doors. They very well may sell more items than I listed. read more

I've never been willing to write negative reviews. Because I know that doing business is not easy. But this time I want people to know about my very unsatisfactory shopping experience. In November 2023, I paid full price for a bath faucet from this store. At that time, they said it would take about 2 weeks or at most a month to pick up the product. During this period, I called several times to ask, but they said it hadn't arrived yet. I called to inquire in January 24, but there was still no reasonable explanation. I asked to cancel the order. The salesperson who answered the phone said that the goods were on the way and would arrive in two or three days, and they would call me to inform me. After waiting until 2/6, there was no call or refund. I went to the store again to inquire about the situation and made it clear that I wanted to cancel the order. The two staff members did not provide any explanation as to why the goods were out of stock for so long, nor did they have any apologetic attitude or language, and gave me a refund. read more

I ordered a bathroom vanity, counter top and faucet in Oct 2020, I was told it would take 5-7 days, I received a call a day later telling me that the vanity and top would not available for 4-5 weeks. I was OK with that. They arrived late Dec and I able to have it installed at my home 12/29/2020. I realized that all business were struggling to meet deadlines so I was patient. However, other then the initial call telling me the order was delay I received NO updates from the staff. They would only respond when I called or emailed asking about status. Pretty lame. When my contractor was in the process of installing he called me to let me know the counter top had a small chip. I immediately tried to call the store to discuss how to proceed, no one answered so I jumped in my car and drove to the store. I had photos of the counter top and packaging. The owner, Thom, was brusque and told me he'd take care of it and that I should have my contractor continue to install. I received no response/update and on 1/5/2021 I called and reached a sales associate who informed me that Thom said he was certain it was not damaged when it left the shop and thus it was my responsibility to deal with my contractor to find a solution, as he was certain they had damaged it. I asked to speak directly with Thom, he was condescending, abrupt and rude. The exact quote was "the manufacture won't take responsibility and now I have to fix YOUR countertop" I held my tongue, as all I wanted was to get the counter top fixed and not have an argument. He said he'd call me back - he did call the following day telling me he'd order a new counter top. Again brusque and abrupt- no apologies for the damage or delays. I finally received the replacement counter top on MARCH 2nd- again No calls or emails updating me as to the status during this time period. I emailed or called every 2 weeks. I started going to this place years ago, when I began research for a remodel that took several more years to come to fruition. Each time I showed up with LOTS of (annoying) questions, and left without purchasing anything. Despite this, on every visit, I was met with patience, and answers to all of my questions. Finally, the day came when I knew what I wanted, and ordered several items for my remodel through them. Each employee was just as knowledgeable as the other, and they work as a great team. Brooke at K&B helped me tremendously when it came to picking out a vanity and finding a quartz countertop with a sink. I ordered my items over the phone; I didn't have to go into the store. I gave her my budget and she made suggestions and gave me the best options; she sent me photos so that I did not have to physically go into the store. Brooke kept me updated along the way and responded to my frequent questions about the status of the shipment. Since the vanity was custom, it took about a month for the company to create it. I ended up getting a matching cubby too. Plus, K&B delivered my items to my house when they were ready. Very nice people and super helpful! We purchased all of our kitchen, family room and multiple bathroom cabinets, hardware and a freestanding bathtub from KBDC. The showroom features popular and luxury brands, catalogs, a knowledgable staff and the center is conveniently located. Thom, the owner has years of expertise in building products and his repeat customers, mainly contractors, depend on him. KBDC created a custom kitchen, family room and bath design plan for Omega cabinets. I spent several hours and multiple appointments with one of the showroom experts to get every specific detail into the plan. As we hurried to get the multiple orders into the manufacturer before a long Easter holiday weekend some mistakes were made. When the orders arrived the mistakes were discovered and the owner, Thom 'stepped in' and 'stepped up' to solve the problems, including expediting late orders and reordering some cabinet doors and accessories. Because our kitchen remodel was complex, the cabinet installation was challenging. Throughout the project, what ever support our contractor needed from KBDC, Thom personally made sure we got what we needed. I'd be sugarcoating this review if I didn't tell you that the problems caused project delays because of lengthly lead times and we were 'fit to be tied'. In other words, we weren't pleasant about dissatisfaction with our situation. Thom was noticeably as frustrated as we were and he never stopped pushing and prodding his suppliers until everything was delivered and was right. I like to say that anyone can sell you a product, but only a few good businesses stand behind the products they sold you. I did my homework before buying from KBDC observing their customer interactions and concluding that they were customer focused. Thank goodness I made the right assessment, Thom and his staff at KBDC will do all they can to help you and they proved that with our project. Thank you, we love our cabinets! read more

I have purchased a variety of items for two bathroom repairs I have done through this store. It came as a recommendation from the gentleman helping me out with installing because I am new at this. I worked with Mason on both. This place is wonderful. It is nice to go in the shop, see the items in person, and talk it over with the staff to make the best, informed decision. I have also checked prices and they are very reasonable and similar to what you can find online, sometimes even cheaper. It has been an incredibly smooth and joyful experience for me and my wife. You can find cheaper at the big box stores, but I literally checked those items out last weekend and the quality just does not compare--will not hold up. That is the reason we have to repair our bathrooms--flipped items of lesser quality. As for Mason, he is both knowledgeable and attentive. He calls back and follows up on ship dates. He never seems to try and up-sell and he has given me wonderful suggestions. Don't go to Other stores. Come here--you'll notice the quality difference in the items and better service! read more

Ordered new kitchen cabinets in Sept and have been waiting since then to receive all of them. A cabinet was measured incorrectly and not enough cabinets ordered. Still are short one door! I can understand being patient due to Covid reasons, but my gripe is that the customer service we have received is unacceptable. Thom has been out of touch with us through this whole process. It is only when we, or our contractor, call him weekly to find out the status of any delivery that we ever get an answer. He is unable to track any shipments so never knows anything. We could've used the kitchen cabinet person that my contractor recommended but I wanted to support a small business in my area. It has been beyond frustrating to deal with the owner of a small company who has no regard for communicating with the customer. It really seems like he doesn't care. In summary, the cabinets are beautiful, we're still waiting on one last door, and next time I will listen to my contractors advice. read more

Great selection of sinks, faucets, tubs and pulls/knobs. PLUS, service is incredible! After 5 years, I needed a receipt in order to claim on a warranty. They actually searched for, and found the documents I needed in order to get replacement parts... AFTER 5 YEARS! They printed out copies for me, and then emailed a digital copy of the invoice so that I could file the necessary documentation...all done with a smile. You won't find a display of such high quality, nicely designed sinks, tubs, faucets, pulls, etc. for your home anywhere else. read more

Remodeled my master bath using K&B Design and had great service and correct order. My experience was not like the first two reviews at all. Thom helped me even fix a lost drain screw w/o charging me a dine. The have a good range of products to meet every price point and even helped me find a less expensive alternative which matched the shower fixture. I appreciate that when shoping within my budget. Kitchen and Bath Design Center is absolutely the worst offender with ROBOCALLS in the South Bay. Four or five times every day, my home land line telephone rings with Kitchen and Bath listed in the LED screen. This has been going on for a month. There is no option to stop these annoying, infuriating calls. (I am on the Do Not Call Registry.) When I answer the phone, there is always only a dial tone. When I dial the telephone number recorded in my phone log, I get a recorded announcement about Kitchen and Bath on Bascom Avenue in San Jose. These calls are deliberate disturbances. Kitchen and Bath Center is a menace to the privacy and peace of mind of every resident in the South Bay with a land line telephone. There is only one way to combat unscrupulous merchants like Kitchen and Bath Center who abuse the privacy of the public with ROBOCALLS: do not do business with them. My wife and I were referred to Kitchen & Bath Design by our granite supplier. Thom was extremely helpful with our purchase of a new sink, faucet, disposal and 2 toilets. The price was very competitive and the service was excellent. The showroom had so many options for every price range and budget. All of our purchases arrived on time and were in perfect condition. Thom was so knowledgeable of all of the products he sells...he even knew the old products we had in our house that we were replacing with just a few vague descriptions. You might be able to find cheaper prices at the big box stores, but to me I want an experienced professional to help me when I am spending hundreds of hard earned dollars. I bought a toilet and a few things from this shop but as the first reviewer mentioned these 2 individuals have a second side to there customer service when you pick up your stuff. I needed to replace some vessel sinks with normal undermount ones, so needed new faucets as well. I was worried because the previous owners had all the things matching, and it was a very specific finish. My contractor referred me to this place, saying that Thom and his daughter are very knowledgeable and know just about everything out there and they will know how to find the matching faucet. The minute I walked in, I was greeted warmly. Brooke took a look at my pictures, and a few minutes later, I was shocked when she handed me printouts of the matching faucets! I was so amazed because there is like a gazillion different options out there. Great service, and these guys really know their stuff inside and out. read more

I worked with Kithchen and Bath Design Showroomon Bascom Avenue in San Jose on remodeling my bathroom and was extremely pleased with the procees and the final result. I have a beautiful bathroom that I am proud to say was remodeled with the help of Gary and Thom. It was my first remodel project and I needed a lot of help in selecting the products, suppliers, and services for installation. I liked working with Gary and Thom. They were knowledgeable, attentive, professional, patient and responsive. They had good suggestions and a big selection of very nice and beautiful products. They ordered assessories, products, and parts and got them to me in a day or so. They stood behind their products and saw to it that the manufacturers and suppliers also did the same. They saved me a ton of money with their recommendations. My custom bathroom was finished on schedule and well within budget, using quality products and assessories and completed with reputable workmanship. I learned a lot about the remodel project and could not have done with without these two men. I have recommended KBDS to my friends who are talking about remodeling. During the early part of our (still ongoing) master bath renovation project, my wife and I visited KBDC on the recommendation of a friend, and were initially very happy with the service and information we got. After discussing some options between ourselves, my wife went back with our contractor a few days after our initial visit to pick out a vanity, counter top, lighting and fixtures. The same KBDC salesperson who assisted us on our first visit (I believe his name is Jon or John) again helped my wife and our contractor, and the items were picked out, paid for and scheduled for pick-up. How many issues have we had since? It's hard to keep track. Let me see if I can list as many as I can recall: - Vanity height -- according to both my wife AND our contractor, they discussed the vanity's height with the KBDC salesperson, and asked for it to be higher than the 31" standard; when the vanity was picked up and the contractor saw it, he noticed it was the standard height, and advised my wife, who asked me to call about it. When I did, Jon/John was extremely defensive, swore up and down that it was NOT ever discussed, and really did nothing but make excuses, say how the store cannot possibly return it at this late time (regardless of whose error/misunderstanding this was), and continue to claim that both my wife and our contractor were incorrect. (The vanity height is fine and so it's now a non-issue, but I include this because it was my first interaction with him post-sale, and I was struck by the fact that there was no empathy or apology [whether he feels it is deserved or not] from him. It seemed very poor customer service to me regardless of the genesis of the issue.) - Soft-close drawers -- my wife and I chose to ask for "soft-close" drawers on the vanity, and that was most definitely ordered (although it doesn't appear on the invoice). When the vanity finally arrived and was picked up, our contractor noticed that the drawers did not have the "soft-close" option. I also mentioned this to Jon/John in my above-mentioned call to him, and again he did not offer any apology or explanation, placed me on hold for a VERY extended time, and finally came back to say that a "kit" could be "sent over" (whatever that means), and that he'd have to call me back with more details. It's been over two weeks now and I've not been called back at all on this subject, nor has our contractor been given any additional information despite repeated inquiries (and still no soft-close drawers). Now he is telling our contractor that we chose the wrong kind of cabinet for soft-close and it can't be added, and claims that nobody mentioned it during the purchase consultation, which is completely untrue. - Counter-top length - our contractor ordered the counter-top to go with the vanity, and was told that it would be longer than the vanity. What we received is a counter-top that is the same length as that of the vanity, so there's no overhang whatsoever, and it's made even worse by the fact that the end of the vanity has a strip of wood that sticks out, so it looks fairly ugly and is not at all esthetically pleasing. - Communication -- my contractor has been VERY frustrated dealing with the salesperson. We ordered quite a few items -- the aforementioned vanity/counter-top, shower fixtures, towel racks, lighting, etc., and so he's had to make regular trips to pick items up. I'm told that he's been told he would get calls back on questions/subjects multiple times, and has yet to receive ONE call-back. One time, he was even turned away without picking up an item that had come in and was locked in a storage area, because the salesperson "couldn't find the key and was the only one in the shop". This kind of attitude and treatment is frustrating for our contractor and for us, and does not seem very professional to me. We're still in the midst of our project and still have items that haven't arrived for pick-up, but I felt I had to write this review out of frustration with the situation. I don't normally write reviews (certainly not extremely negative ones like this one), and if it was just one or two things I wouldn't have bothered, but it's been one thing after another, and with nearly nonexistent communication from the salesperson along with ZERO customer service as far as I'm concerned. I see that the overwhelming majority of reviews for this place have been extremely positive, so it's possible that we've just been snakebitten and the victim of some confluence of events, but in any case, the experience the three of us have had (myself, my wife and our contractor) has been frustrating and negative to say the least. read more

Saving a couple of bucks never cost me so much! First our cabinet order arrived with several wrong cabinets and this delayed our project. Second our sink and faucet arrived on time but it was the wrong finish. The correct stuff came 2 weeks later than what they quoted, but I guess that was ok to them since we were still waiting for the correct cabinets to show up. If you don't mind having your job completely delayed and the "not our problem" attitude then these are your guys. They had good customer service when it came to taking my money up front and no ethics when things went wrong. read more
