When you look at it from just a cost of cabinets, you are really missing the big picture, there is so much more that goes into it. We initally paid an independent designer a lot of money to help us with the kitchen cabinet design, Keith will do this as part of his service. We would have saved this money if we just went with Keith from the get go. Any issue or question we had, Keith was super responsive and on it immediately. Remodeling our kitchen after 33 years. After getting a few sticker shock cabinet bids, we found Sequoia Cabinets listed under yelp and I started reading the excellent reviews. We decided to visit his shop in Campbell. The shop was small but Keith was able to supply samples of all his products. We felt confident in Keith's expertise and knowledge. We ordered our cabinets at a substantial savings under previous bids and they are just as beautiful as the "sticker shocker" cabinets. Keith was always there through the entire process from start to finish. He came out several times at the beginning to make sure all his measurements were accurate before placing the order. He always kept us updated on the process and progress with no surprises. He made several trips from Campbell to Santa Cruz with no hesitation whatsoever. I was extremely impressed with Sequoia Cabinet! Keith at Sequoia Cabinet is professional and knowledgable. He did a wonderful job communicating with us throughout the selection, buying, and installation process. He worked hard to find the right cabinets for us, and explained what was happening every step of the way. First, Keith explained the different types of wood used in cabinetry and the benefits and drawbacks of each. He then discussed the different brands, and his opinion of each (everything he carries is high-quality, but they vary in how they are made, finishes available, etc.). After that, he drew a schematic of the cabinets in our kitchen, and made sure we were happy with it before ordering our cabinets. He kept tabs on the manufacture and shipping of our cabinets. He personally oversaw the delivery and checked the cabinets to make sure there were no problems. He checked back with the installer of the cabinets to make sure everything was going smoothly. We had a fantastic experience working with Keith from Sequoia Cabinets on our kitchen. In fact, after meeting him, we decided to then go find a contractor that would work with him rather than the other way around. He came by our house and walked us through our options, gave us some great ideas, and was able to do everything we wanted with our cabinets and more. He walked us through what matters about cabinets, the right way to compare them, and the kind of features that would get us the look and feel we wanted. Keith took special care with our work including talking with our contractor to make sure they were installed correctly and coming by occasionally to check in on how it was going. We are grateful that he did because he indeed found that our contractors had misread the specifications on our store/oven such that the cabinets around it would not fit correctly. Keith caught the error just in time on one of his routine visits just before templating that the contractor was able to fix it without much issue. Keith not only has years of experience and expertise but treated our kitchen as if he were redoing his very own. We relied on his opinions on what would look right, how many drawers, how many cubbards, whether to go with pulls or handles, and so on, and Keith was spot on. Our Karmen cabinets turned out great and we couldn't be happier. Keith is an easygoing, friendly, caring, great guy to begin with which made the experience all that more pleasant. Prices were reasonable too even though we wanted the more expensive options like cherrywood and so on. When we found the cabinet pulls/knobs that we wanted elsewhere, we decided to ask Keith if he knew where we could find them cheaper just for the hell of it. We started our search for a new kitchen at a glitzy showroom. The rep gave us the pitch and said she could come out and measure up our kitchen for $150. Knowing no better, we agreed and she duly visited - and made sure to get her check before she left! A few days later we went back to the store to see the plans. They were basic and, frankly, not well thought through. The cost was substantial but, most importantly, we didn't feel that we were being listened to as customers. So, I went on to Yelp and found Sequoia Cabinets which operates out of a small office in an industrial area of Campbell. We met with Keith in his office to look at his cabinets (Cabinetry by Karman.) They were easily a match to the ones in the expensive showroom. Keith then came out to measure up our kitchen (for free) and gave us a fair quote which was considerably below the other one we had. We felt comfortable with Keith from the start--he listened to what we wanted, gave us straightforward advice and didn't try to up-sell us--in fact, the opposite, he talked us out of a couple of things that would have added unnecessary cost. Nothing was too much trouble for him. For example, we were on the fence about the door panels so he got two sample doors made so that we could see exactly what each would look like so we could decide which we wanted. Keith went back and forth with us until we were absolutely happy with the plan. His cabinets are semi-customized so they could be fitted to our exact dimensions - and to make sure that they did fit, before he placed the order, Keith came out and measured once again just to be sure. We thought that that was probably the last time we'd see him, but the day the cabinets arrived, Keith was at our house once again to make sure that everything was correctly delivered. Then he visited again while they were being installed because we were not happy with the finish on one of the drawers (he got it remade and the replacement arrived before the kitchen was finished). He then came out again when we wanted to adjust the opening of a few of the hinges and made the adjustments himself. It is difficult to imagine a better experience than ours with Keith and Sequoia Cabinets--and best of all we stayed on budget and got a kitchen we love. At every step of the way Keith was professional, courteous and just fun to be around. If we ever do another kitchen remodel we'll be on the phone to Keith in a heartbeat! read more

My husband and I last minute decided to remodel our kitchen. Not ever doing one before, I started going to kitchen stores to get an idea on what type of cabinets are available, pricing, etc. I found Keith on yelp and I went straight to his shop. From the moment I met Keith, he was super helpful, informative, and not pushy. He described the styles of cabinets that were available, wood finishes, paint grade finishes, how the cabinets are built. It made me confident that these cabinets would be reliable as I would be spending a lot of money on them. Keith also came to my home and took final measurements and helped me add all the "extra fancy" things that I wanted like pull out drawers, double utensil drawers. On delivery day, he also came to the house and made sure every single piece was delivered. His customer service is definitely top notch and I'm grateful I found him to get my custom cabinets. Took precise measurements and ordered cabinets with the perfect detail to account for various nuances. Gave us precise dates and tracked our cabinets, held it for us since we were behind schedule and then came with the truck to inspect each and every cabinet for delivery damage. There were none. He came by to check on the install, was always available for any questions. One of the cabinets came without skin so he promptly ordered them for us. In our construction mess we could not locate the spice rack. He kept asking us to find it. We eventually found it but he was ready to order them for us. When My husband and I purchased a home last year, we knew we wanted to renovate the kitchen right away. We had no previous experience with renovations and were true novices. We had no idea what adventure was awaiting us! We researched 3 kitchen cabinet design contractors on Yelp and 1 custom cabinet builder. While all of them had great advice and options, Sequoia Cabinets was the one we chose. And we are super happy with our decision. Here is why - 1) Keith was extremely patient with me and he didn't push me to decide on a cabinet color or style. Instead he spent weeks... ok almost two months helping me figure out what style cabinet I wanted. He encouraged me to take the door samples home to see what would go well with the granite we chose. 2) Kitchen design - I spent several afternoons with Keith, sitting at his computer exploring different design options. We were trying to figure out spacing and he suggested a spice drawer - I have turned it into a drawer to store different oil (Avocado oil, sesame oil, Olive oil etc.) I absolutely love the convenience of having all the different oils close by to the cooking range and not on the counter. He also got a servo for my trash drawer, which means I just touch the cabinet with my knee and it opens. 3) Customer Service - Keith came to my house and worked with my contractor to figure out the measurements - we didn't have any walls up and the two of them worked to make sure everything would fit before we put the walls up. I can still picture him in my gutted kitchen measuring for different layout options 4) Keith was onsite for the delivery of the cabinets, made sure everything we ordered was here 5) On the day of the cabinet installation, Keith stopped by to assist the contractor by explaining the different cabinets 6) One door and one roll out drawer were slightly damaged (stain on the inside of the door was clumpy and there was a crack in the wood for one of the roll out drawers) - Keith promptly ordered a new door and drawer 7) I found that I needed a different kind of hinge for the doors, to restrict how wide they opened - well Keith researched options and showed up at my door with his tools and installed them 8) Hardware - Keith let me bring the samples he had in the store home so I could figure out which would work. He also went out of his way to get the best deal for me in record time. 9) And Keith was able to give us everything we wanted within our budget If you are looking for someone to go the extra mile for you while you design your dream kitchen, I highly recommend Keith and Sequoia Cabinets! read more

So I started doing my research starting from big box stores and businesses that specialize in "brand" cabinetry all the way down to Chinese made cabinets and everything in-between. I came across Keith purely based on my internet research and I must say that I didn't look any further after that. Keith of Sequoia cabinet is an absolute marvel of a person to work with. Great years of experience designing and selling custom cabinetry shows when you start talking to Keith about your requirements. His prices are very reasonable, quality of cabinets (Cabinetry from Karman is the brand he represents in bay area) and most importantly all the wisdom that he carries when it comes to planning your cabinet space. He is very patient, never pushed us to select a type of cabinet one way or another. He gave us a very good deal for a large order of cabinetry we selected (Westport Cherry in Lexington finish and another for our baths). Thank you Keith! We had ordered additional cabinets to match existing ones from our regular supplier and received the wrong items and then our supplier went out of business. I feel bad to post this review so late. Keith helped us remodel our kitchen almost four years ago. However, the good thing is, now I can testify how sturdy and well-made the Sequoia Cabinets are. I never had any problems or issues with the drawers, doors, hinges, or anything in the past almost four years. I received so many compliments on our kitchen. I have to mention the clear paint of the cabinets since I was a little concerned that the maple color was too light and it would look dirty after years of heavy Chinese cooking. Nonetheless, the paint on the cabinets is so thick and well done that it serves as an impenetrable armor for the cabinets. l can easily use just regular detergent to clean up the cabinets and today they still look as new. Sequoia Cabinet is a hidden gem. The quality of the cabinets is so good that I am compelled to write a review for Sequoia Cabinet. Back in April of this year, 2015 I embarked upon my very first remodeling project on my kitchen. Not having any experience in this area, I was very concerned about what all to expect.
