We had a great experience with the team at RD Granite for tearing out our white tile counters and replacing with quartz. They don't have a showroom or anything (probably how they keep their prices low) so it's better to have decided on what kind of material and slab you want from another place. We went to Apex Granite, decided on quartz over other materials for its ease in maintenance and clean appearance, and picked out the Silestone Calacatta Gold slabs. Then, we emailed RD Granite for an install and material quote. They got back to us promptly and offered one of the lowest prices in the area. After we were ready to start, Sesar, Beto, and team came out half a day to demolish the existing tile and template our counters. They took care to protect everything and things were pretty clean after the demolition. They walked us through each step of the templating to ensure that we would be satisfied with the location of all the seams. Once the slabs arrived, we met them at the store to inspect the slabs and figure out how the marbling from each slab would flow from slab to slab. Luckily, there were a lot of experts there who know what would look good since we had no idea how to piece together this marbling puzzle. They gave us some ideas on how to use the scraps (windowsill, table for our living room nook) and threw in a cutting board. Also, they do miter edges for the slabs, which I was pleasantly surprised with. No janky seams on the edges! Once we were good on everything, they started the fabrication process. A week later, they came out to do the install. Beto and team were awesome in keeping us aware of issues or final adjustments that needed to be made. The best part about working with RD Granite was that we contacted them about some issues we were experiencing with a seam and for some touch-ups, and they came out promptly each time. When we continued having an issue 2 months later, they came back out again to try a different method of fixing the problem (and fixed it). Would request a higher quality caulk next time to make cleanup easier. Prolly worth it to have the countertop underside finished cause it looks terrible in the raw state. Just had a new quartz countertop installed today, and I couldn't be happier with Daniel and his team. I had RD Granite do my demo on Wednesday, I installed my new Apron sink on Thursday, they templated on Friday and they install today on Monday. They were quick and efficient. We were worried about the install because our sink was very large with NOT very much space to fit into and we had requested a 15" overhang (on the large side) on our peninsula. The sink fit perfect and they put extra support bars in the sub-top to support our overhang all as part of the normal job. when we called several days after to ask about getting the sink cutout for use as cutting boards, they dropped them off just a couple of days later, no questions asked. I got several quotes for two kitchens and a vanity top, and wasn't impressed with the level of service. I searched through yelp and found Daniel at Rd Granite. From the first call, he was prompt, courteous, and professional. Helped me find a good slab at Bedrosian - San Jose, got me a preliminary quote with pictures of the kitchens, and followed through. One of the pieces was tricky as it had a short L shape and a large sink, and other fabricators suggested having the piece cut. The whole process from selection to template to fabrication to installation was done on time and budget. This review is long overdue. Just stop looking at other installers and write down this contact on your phone for all future installations. We had a waterfall quartzite installed in our kitchen. Because quartzite is a natural stone it's trickier to do a waterfall feature since the lines need to match. We had to buy two pieces and Daniel noticed the pieces weren't lining up exactly. Daniel sent his guy to the granite store in Hayward, found a better match for the waterfall, brought it back and the waterfall looks perfect! A+ for customer service, professionalism, craftsmanship, and timeliness. After much due diligence, I narrowed down on RD Granite/Daniel for a backyard BBQ granite install job. Daniel was extremely responsive from the moment I solicited him for an initial quote to the time he finished the job. Easy to get hold of and very prompt and professional in communicating via text (I preferred this mode of communication as well). Sometimes for (minor) questions that would pop up in my head middle of the day (or during my research on desired end product), I didn't want to call him incessantly. So it was very convenient to text him and get an immediate response back. Daniel recommended a couple of reputable granite and tile stores in the South Bay I could check out inventory and buy the slabs from. These stores had a good variety and also provided a 'Daniel' discount. This worked out well. During the initial measurements, Daniel checked with me on the kind of finish I wanted with the edges (showing me a picture of each finish). He had 15 or so options. I was impressed as I didn't realize that so many options existed and the pictorial view allowed me to visualize what I really wanted. The quality of his work was exceptional. The edges and cuts were fine and precise, the installation process was smooth. He made necessary adjustments to make sure that the BBQ and gas burner would fit in precisely after the granite install (testing their placement out). He paid attention to little details (e.g. putting blue tape around front edges of BBQ so the metal wouldn't scratch during install). He finished the installation with his crew in ~1.5 hours and was on his way. For the leftover granite piece, I requested a few cutting boards and he was nice enough to fabricate these for me. All in all, two thumbs up, a job well done. read more

Very impressed with Daniel and his team from start to finish. Daniel was very responsive in getting back to me with quotes along with questions I had along the way. The price was very competitive and the selection of edges for our marble kitchen countertop was excellent. We went with the Ogee Bullnose, and it looks fantastic. Carlos and Douglas came out to do the measurements and create templates. We then went to their shop in San Jose and positioned the templates the way we wanted them on the slab. The next week Carlos, Douglas, Caesar and Eban showed up and installed the sink and countertops quickly and professionally. We are fairly particular about things and found some small nicks on the edge. Before the guys left, these were repaired with amazing results - perfect color match and we cannot see where the repairs were actually done. After they left, we found a hairline scratch across one of the surfaces and I let Daniel know. Within a few days, he had one of his skilled guys come over to work that out and a few other areas we found. No questions, no hesitation. Can't say enough about RD Granite and the team. I agree with all previous comments on Daniel and his work - most importantly, his eye to detail and quality, as he carefully did his best to align the natural grain and quartz lines of my beautiful Costa Esmeralda Granite quartz countertops. Daniel and his crew just did an excellent job installing granite in my kitchen. Actually, it was more than excellent, a perfect job. The cut, installation, bullnose, polish, and seam was utterly perfect. Monday, I send him an email, with my specs, asked for a price. I got a simple quote in an hour... no nonsense, no strange questions, just a simple price. He was about 8% more than my cheapest quote, and about 8% less than my third candidate--I also had a fourth quote from a quack that wanted 75% more. Tuesday, i called him to give him the job. He was over at my house after lunch to make the templates... meticulous and accurate. Later that afternoon, he met me over at Silicon Valley Granite to select two slabs. Friday, bright and early, he came over to install. The installation was a precise and meticulous affair... much more involved than I thought it would be. They had a fantastic little dolly that protected my floor from the weight of the giant island counter (all 600Lb) as they moved it in. I needed one seam in a corner counter, and they spent a whole hour closing it, filling it, and then polishing it. The seam ended up essentially invisible, much better than I expected. After a lot of cleaning and polishing, the final step was sealing the granite. I wish he worked for free and brought over some cheerleaders to entertain me, but other than that, everything was utterly perfect.. not a single thing I would change. I will certainly give Daniel my next granite job... and I will just wait if he is busy. read more

RD Granite has 5 star reviews because they are a 5 star business. Polite, professional, responsive, and ON TIME. We had 3 quartz counter tops installed on Thanksgiving day 2017. At 8am Thanksgiving morning they were ready to go and surprised that we were enthusiastically available and willing to do an install on Thanksgiving. We also have an existing kitchen granite counter that is spotted and faded from the prior owners. Daniel took a look at it and recommended we clean it with acetone and steel wool, which we did. After the Thanksgiving install we noticed a scratch on the leading edge of one of the new quartz counters. Daniel sent a crew out after Xmas to address it. They buffed out the scratch and blended it in nicely. While they were here was asked them to look at the kitchen counter we cleaned and if there was anything else that could be done? It still looked spotty and faded. they cleaned and sealed the existing kitchen counter for NO CHARGE. That was Daniel's decision. No charge! 10/10 highly recommend! read more
