We met Lucas there, and he invited us to come out for a tasting. We enjoyed so many delicious wines in their tasting room, as well as some charcuterie and caviar. There were two tasting offers, so we all got to try a little something of each. Lucas and Kira treated us like family from start to finish. Every single wine was absolutely wonderful. There is an expansive gift shop in the tasting room. The grounds are amazing, a 240 acre estate filled with so many varieties of specially crafted vines. After our tasting, we sat outside to enjoy the crisp day, and enjoyed our special visitors, the puppies, as well as a prolonged visit with Lucas. Probably my favorite thing about Laurel Ridge was learning the history of the property and how it continued when founder David Teppola passed. Can you say Mrs. Susan is a TRUE BAD**S!? She continued the dream through her grief, learned how to operate the facility, and has made to the legacy of the vineyard lives on. From the moment she began sharing her family's story -- from her father's early fascination with French wine to his pioneering belief in the Willakenzie Loam soils -- we were captivated. We pulled up to a colorfully landscaped tasting room and sat on the back patio lounge set. Aubrey took our experience to another level, joining our inside jokes, and really getting a feel for what we like. Everything was delicious. I ordered the 2023 Weber Vineyard Pinot Noir to bring home, and we had a 2024 bottle of the Pinot that was enjoyed in our yard at the Air BnB. From what my local friends have said, the late Patty Greene was a force in the community and really helped put Oregon wines on the map. It is a true testimony to her that her name is still at the top of many a list even 9 years after her passing. Be sure to take in the beauty of the property. I believe I saw they also make bourbon.
