Lovely winery on a beautiful vineyard with views of Mount Hood in the distance. Both the wine and the service here were fantastic. They had plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, both settings beautiful. We came by on a Friday afternoon for a tasting and enjoyed a bottle on the patio/deck afterwards. They allow outside food so we were able to snack while we sipped. The tasting consisted of 6 wines, 3 whites, 1 rosé, and 2 reds when we visited. Really enjoyed and would've gladly purchased a bottle of 5/6 of the wines we tried, not something that happens often. The spot is also dog friendly. We were lucky enough to see Joey, the winery dog while we were there, super cute pup! They even had a grassy area out by the parking with doggie bags to pick up after your furry friends. Unfortunately there was no room in my suitcase for wine to come home with me this time, but I'll be sure to save a spot next time.

My friend and I went here in February for the Valentine's Wonderer card. Upon arriving, the building is lovely, and when you enter the fabulous energy that seeps into your being makes you feel so good and happy. I've never experienced that before. They have seating inside as well as seating on the balcony outside. The gentleman that seated us (outside, as it was a gorgeous sunny day) was just fabulous! The view was spectacular! Trees framing the view of a snow-covered Mt Hood and the vineyard below (of course, the vines were bare, but I'm sure come sping/summer that will just add to this gorgeous view). We started with the Chardonay, which was light with a hint of butteriness and a crisp after taste. It was very good. The next was their Pinot Gris, and let me just say it's sunshine in a bottle! The next 3 tastes were Pinot Noirs, and I admit I'm not one that goes for Pinot Noirs. Boy, did they prove me wrong! I love all 3. The first one was light, mildly fruity, with a hint of sweetness to finish (this was my favorite). This one came from their vines. The second one was sorced from Washington grapes, the taste was bolder, more of the traditional Pinot Noir flavors, but very good. The last was the most bold and was absolutely delightful! The cost is justified, but I'm on a very limited budget. The last was the Cabernet Sauvignon, and though again I'm not big on Sauvignons, it was one of the best I've had! I came home with the Pinot Gris and the 1st Pinot Noir. Yum!!! My friend and I agree we will be visiting this winery a lot! I highly recommend them! Cheers!

Super cute winery in Oregon. I loved the aesthetic with a modern feel but very cozy. One of the better tasting rooms I've been in. You could sit inside or outside on the patio that overlooks the vineyards with a view of Mount Hood. It was gorgeous. The sommelier was amazing and gave us detailed descriptions of all the wine we were tasting. I thought the wine tasted very good. We even met the wine maker which made the experience even better. My personal favorite wines from the tasting menu were the Rose of Pinot Noir, the Riesling, and the Pinot Gris.

Beautiful! Great ambiance. Very good wine.

Very pleasant experience. Nice sitting area outside. Live music. Very decent wines. Inside is a bit tight and they were not started up enough for Labor Day tasting.

Does anyone know if Blooming Hills sources pesticide free grapes? I looked on their website and I couldn't find any information about pesticides or fertilizers. Thanks in advanced!

My usual M.O. with sake is a small, hot carafe when I have sushi. But my experience here has made me rethink this incredible beverage. I opted for the Daiginjo flight, which I highly recommend. Daiginjo is the best form of sake, with the process polishing down the rice grain to 50% or less of its original volume. The ones I had ranged from 40% to 50%. I'm not sure exactly what this does, but I can sure tell you, it makes a massive difference in the smoothness and taste. The first 3 sakes in the sampler are from Japan; the last is their exclusive sake made right in Forest Grove. Here's my take on the sakes I had: The Murai Family was aromatic and slightly floral. The Hakutsuru: smooth, slight fruitiness, subtle, with an interesting aftertaste on the back sides of my tongue. The Yoshi No Gawa was smoother with a slight tang at the back of my tongue. And last but not least, the in-house Nagata had a nice balance of bold, silky, and fruity/floral. I even admired its "legs" as I did a swirl to see viscosity. After the flight, I decided on a cocktail, the Blackberry Lime Martini. Tart, sweet, deliciousness. When I left, I bought a bottle of Sho-Une, which didn't break the bank, but is supposed to be great for the price point. I'm saving it for a special occasion. I'm looking forward to visiting this fine establishment again.

Both locations are very beautiful and all I can say is you actually need to visit both! This winery is military based, and although we are not military, we love what this place is founded on and what they support. The forest Grove location is a cute little hole in the wall winery and I believe you can sit outside as well. It is in the heart of downtown Forest Grove so everything is in walking distance! The old Highway 47 location is perched up on a hill just down the road from Henry Haag Lake and if you look closely, you can see, Helens and one other mountain.
