Went for a drive this past weekend and wandered upon Ruby Vineyard - I've yet to find a great winery locally (fair enough - I haven't tried too hard) but what a wonderful experience! First, the lovely employee accommodated my request to a white and rose only tasting, and of the 4 I tried, 4 I LOVED. I even took a bottle of the rose to a new years party and it was beyond a hit! I typically only am drawn to chardonnays but the Lilly of the valley white blend was superb as was the rose (and the others). My husband had the charcuterie board and it was (according to him) delicious and we wants to come back again to enjoy it. All said - we are fans, and now have a group of more fans wanting to come out for a tasting (or for the non-wine lovers - a charcuterie board) 10x10 recommend this local gem! read more

Such a cute winery! Andrew and his team produce amazing wines, comfortable views, and great hospitality. I could sit here on their outdoor patio and be happy all day! My wife and I were up the the Silicon Valley for a family event. And we both are wine lovers. The time was free for the afternoon and we found the tasting room. It was beautiful. The setup was great and we joined the wine club. All I can say is, the Pinot noir and other versatile's are excellent and you will not be disappointed! The attention to our love of wine while conversing with them was not chatter between two people, but was delivered and understood by the attendant. Last week we had the most wondrous time at Ruby Vineyard. Having recently moved to the Washington County area we were looking for a winery that, not only offers exquisite wines but is also a safe setting for our family.... Ruby Vineyard is just what we were looking for. My spouse and extended family were able to reserve a private outdoor patio located deep within the old vines of Ruby Vineyard. In an effort to provide a safe, relaxing and beautiful setting Ruby Vineyard has built a private patio with some of the most superb views we have ever experienced. We were warmly greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable staff and escorted to our private patio. The view is simply stunning with vineyards in the foreground and snowed capped Mount Hood in the background. We spent several hours enjoying the ambiance. The wines we sampled included the Ruby Waves Rose, Laurelwood Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris..... all of which were incredibly delicious. The staff at Ruby provided bottled water, a cooler and a sound bar. Flora, the co-owner, made sure we were settled in nicely and provided us with a historical account of Ruby Vineyard the neighboring farms. As an added bonus, our granddaughters enjoyed feeding the friendly pigs. We were so pleasantly delighted by our experience and the wines we decided to join the Ruby Vineyard Wine Club. My girlfriends and I visited Oregon on a girls trip and we spent a day touring wine country. Ruby was by far our favorite vineyard. The wine was delicious and the views were unbeatable. What really made the difference though was our server, Jade. She was so fun to talk to and answered all of our questions (even the dumb ones). Andrew our tasting expert was knowledgeable and helpful. He brought us through the tasting wonderfully even as we were a group of 8, which can be challenging. The wines were excellent and the back deck view was beautiful. Wines are priced in the same range as most other places but woth a lower priced entry level at around $22 which was a great easy pinot to drink. We bought the pinot gris, a flavorful white with sav blanc-like characteristics but without all of that tropical fruit. Ruby is a great stop and I highly recommend stopping by! read more

Ruby Vineyards did not meet my expectations. I made a reservation and was never told that we were on a time limit. Upon arrival a very friendly older gentleman greeted us. He was very sweet and showed us to our seats. It was under the deck area in their garden area.. when they watered their plants my friend got wet from the excess water. Then we had a lady serve our wine who wasn't very friendly to us. She told us we were on a time crunch of 1hour 30 min. We ordered our first round, a few bottles of wine and when we decided to order another bottle we were asked if we can drink a bottle in 45 minutes (there were 6 of us) are you kidding me?! Then we decided we did not want to overstay our welcome. We decided to explore the grounds and walk to the area in the back of the vineyards. I wanted to check it out and possibly reserve it for my 40th when one of the workers or owners came running out that we're not suppose to go back there. There was a caution sign saying it was a little uneven but not a "do not enter sign." As we were coming back up after seeing that he didn't want us there he said "don't make me do this." Not sure what that meant. We didn't feel valued as customers or treated anywhere near what the other customers were treated. We were a group of 6 latinas and really felt out of place. I really wanted to like this place as we just bought acreage on bald peak 6 min away from the vineyard and I'm a realtor in the area and would of loved to recommend. It's our favorite thing to do with friends and my husband is visit vineyards and I'm a member at a few vineyards in the area including alloro and oak knoll. This would of been a great convenient place to take our family, clients and friends. Not going to happen now. Thanks to the very nice gentlemen that greeted us. I wish the rest of our experience was as pleasant as he was. I will not be attending again! read more

I understand that during this time of Covid-19 we need to make reservations. However my husband and I were not aware of this on a day we decided to go wine tasting. So when at the first place we went had no same day reservation option we contacted Ruby and they said they had an opening. The place was so nice and the view is amazing. Due to being a same day reservation we were set at a beat up table that was on an incline and set several feet away from the other guests. While there was an umbrella I still got sunburned. We had a tasting and a cheese plate the cheese plate got overheated because the tasting took forever. I felt like an outsider looking in on the nicely shaded people getting first rate service. Also, one of the staff members that brought us one of the wines almost feel due to the many gopher holes and uneven ground she giggled and said woah be careful so that you don't fall. I wish they would have told us they did not have a seat for us because customers should not be treated like we were. read more

The atmosphere is chic and updated but not at all stuffy. Jessica in the tasting room was extremely friendly and knowledgeable - always great to see someone in the service industry who seems to genuinely love their job, their product, and serving others. The whole staff was this way. The charcuterie board was great and you have to try the hazelnuts - they come from a local farm only a few miles away. My 5/5 stars can tell you that the wine was heavenly, too. I was lucky enough to come here on a beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky and the view of Mt. Hood is unbeatable. Any winery with a dog gets bonus points in my book, but Ruby is exceptional even without counting their very friendly dog. The wines were all delicious and the staff were ready and able to answer any questions we had. Not only that but they also brought out some meatballs made with their pinot noir, absolutely delicious. I have been a member of RUBY VINEYARD since it opened from the ground up. It has been so exciting to witness this vineyard grow and to be a part of the most exquisite vineyard I have ever visited in the Willamette Valley. Steve, Flora, Stanley, Glenn and Andrew are the absolute best in making one feel most welcome and special. The wines are elegant, rich and divine. The tasting room pours are generous and they have a very impressive selection of wines for tasting. Steve and Flora are phenomenal, personable and enjoy answering questions and sharing about the history of the vineyard and their wines. I love pinot noir, and Ruby's are some of the best you can get; they have several award winners. Excellent service, just a small quaint winery that enjoys serving wine. The view of the valley is fantastic and you can see a full view of mount hood on a clear day. I came with my friends that have a membership. All 6 of us did tastings and three of us purchased wine. They waved 3 tasting fees and allowed all of us to use our friends membership discount for our purchase. I would love to come back here. read more

Ruby Vineyard was a sorry disappointment from the previous Beran Vineyard on the same location. While the new tasting room is a nice facility, it's obvious this winery does not know how to host a wine tasting. They offer no bread or even crackers to cleanse palates between wines let alone any cheese or other things true wine tastings know are imperative for tasters to truly taste and evaluate different wines. We were given small glasses fresh out of the dishwasher and hot which the server proceeded to pour Pinot Gris into. When questioning the hot glass she had no clue that a chilled wine should not be served in a hot glass. Frankly no wine should. There was no cleansing or changing of glasses between between whites and reds. Frankly I took to a water container to rinse out the glass. It was hard to truly enjoy or evaluate each new wine when the palate was still tasting the previous wine. At $20 or $30 for a tasting of 5 wines I have to say I give this winery a 0. I previously enjoyed this Pinot Noir (under Beran name) and classified it as one of the very best. The Berans also were very knowledgeable about wines and how to present their wines and offer a tasting. Also to join Ruby Vineyard wine club you buy 6 bottles of wine (which is typical of wine clubs). The events they appear to offer are club members bring whatever they want to put on the bbq on a Friday or Saturday night and anything else you want to share. You still buy the wine. They provide the bbq to cook your food on Uff dah! Probably don't need to worry they don't have a sign on the property that it's Ruby Vineyard. I wont be going back nor will I recommend this wine. They really should look around and first know how to provide a tasting. Their servers are not knowledgeable about serving wine. They need to learn "What's important", and that clearing palates between wines is essential. Oh I forgot. They told me not to forget to get a meatball on the way out. They had a crockpot of meatballs by the door with toothpicks. . The Berans would be very sad to hear the experience we received today. read more
